The Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic is incorporated in the system of the supreme state authorities and is responsible for the protection of constitutionalism. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the role of the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic in the political system of the Czech Republic on basis of delimitation of function thereof, and of basic relations to other state power bodies. The subject matter of the first part of the thesis is characteristics of the constitutional justice and the significance thereof in a democratic constitutional state. This interpretation also includes comparison of two principal models - a diffusion model, and a concentrated constitutional justice model. The basic idea of the thesis is to explore the characteristic position of the Constitutional Court between the law and the politics, it deals with political aspects of constitutional justice. The thesis is based on constitutional approach and aims to answer the question of how much the relation of the Constitutional Court towards the politics is determined by the system (institutionally, functionally). Position of the Senate in the Constitutional System of the Czech Republic
Fuksová, Veronika ; Wintr, Jan (advisor) ; Koubek, Jiří (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of the Senate's position as one of the chambers of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. The basic question pervading the whole thesis is whether the Senate in the Czech Republic has legitimate position. This question is considered in several connotations, both in comparison with second chambers of other countries and their functions, and in terms of the position of the Czech Senate in its partial powers. The thesis is presented with a brief overview of the evolution of legislative bodies in the period from the First Republic to the early nineties when the formation of the current form of bicameral parliament took place. Other chapters focus on its subsequent development which is marked by the period when the Senate was not established and its functions ensured the Chamber of Deputies. Furthermore, the thesis is focused on issues related to constitutional and legal embodiment of the Senate, the question of the extent and effectiveness of the use of its powers and the thesis deals with critical views too. The conclusion summarizes the results that came from the analysis, answers the research question and determines the possible subsequent development. Key words: the Senate, the Parliament of the Czech republic, constitutional system, tradition, bicameralism, powers

Blažek, Jiří ; Klepárník, Vít (advisor) ; Koubek, Jiří (referee)
This thesis focuses on the role of the advisors in the US foreign policy, especially in the decision-making process, which constitutes a part of presidential system in the United States of America. The methodology of the conceptual part is based on individual typologies of presidential control of the US administrations. The thesis also describes evolution of this discipline, which in the USA is studied in the field of Foreign Policy Analysis. The conceptual scheme of the presidential control is based on the models by Johnson, George and Mitchell. The theoretical approach to the roles of advisors is patterned on the models of Mulcahy, Crabb and Hönig. The thesis combines these theoretical bases to describe and explain the evolution of presidential control typologies. Some problematic particularities of the Mitchell typology are also reviewed in this part. The next part based on the theoretical models analyses empirical reality. The analytical part constitutes of two case studies, which describe the role of the Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs in the key deliberations of the presidential administrations of William J. Clinton (reaction to the conflict in Bosnia) and George W. Bush (preparation of the invasion in Iraq). The aim of this thesis is to applicate the typologies of...

Polish party system and perspecitves of its stabilization afer the 2007 elections
Zastánci volebního inženýrství v této souvislosti vkládali nemalé naděje do volební reformy z roku 19931.

The aim is to look into the fields of personal policy, foreign policy and legislative process and to ascertain, through the analysis of political and constitutional works, the exact role of the Presidents in these areas. Kudrna, Pavel ; Štefek, Martin (advisor) ; Koubek, Jiří (referee)
This bachelor thesis analyses the transition of Czechoslovakia towards democracy with emphasis on the first period of the transition: November and December 1989. The paper introduces different transitological approaches and applies them to the Czechoslovakia case. Traditional approaches, for instance Rustow, Mainwaring, Karlová and Schmitter, Przeworski, and others, are used to reflect upon the transition phases and typology. The thesis furthermore takes into consideration major historiographical works on the final phase or fall of non-democratic regimes and establishing a new system. The analysis also emphasises the actors of the transition. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
