Education of social workers in the context of professional self-care

The Diploma Thesis is divided into a theoretical and an empirical part. The theoretical part describes the self-care of social workers with an emphasis on the engagement of educators in social work. In the practical part, a qualitative analysis of the documents, i.e. the curricula of universities and higher professional schools, is performed through the content analysis. The aim is to describe how the educators prepare social workers to perform their professional practice in the context of professional self-care. The conclusions from the research can serve as a basis for identifying current forms of self-care education. The research findings can be useful for educators, professional organisations and associations which can change the content of education and make the concept of self-care relevant. The thesis reveals the themes that should be addressed in future research studies. The thesis also contributes to raising awareness of self-care and contributing to its justification in the professional field.

Critical social work in the praxis of social services working with homeless people

(english) This thesis focuses on the use of the principles and methods of Critical Social Work in the practice of social workers in Czech context. It is a concept based on critical social science and social work approaches. It has been influenced mainly by Marxism, Feminism, Postmodernism or the Critical Theory perspective. It differs from traditional social work in its emphasis on the structural analysis of individual problems, its critique of social inequalities, various forms of domination or oppression, and its efforts to achieve social change. The causes of homelessness not only in the Czech Republic are directly related to the mechanism of global capitalism. Therefore the tradition of Critical Social Work provides an important framework and tools for social work, which is concerned with the solution of homelessness. The aim of my research is to find out how the principles of this concept are applied in Czech context in social work with homeless people. The research is based on thematic analysis of semi-structured interviews with social workers. Within the research, I reconstruct the participants' attitudes towards the causes and solutions to homelessness, the role of social work, the participation of service users or their values.

Methods of Social Work with elderly people used in our territory in 1948-1989

The topic of this thesis is the Methods of social work with elderly people used in our territory in 1948-1989. The goal of this thesis is to description of the methods used in social work with seniors in the defined period. The method used in this thesis is a synthesis of scientific knowledge from literature mapping social work in the period from 1948 to 1989 and analysis of the historical period. This thesis is divided into five main chapters. The first chapter is dedicated to the theoretical framework, which describes the social area with an emphasis on old people. The second chapter is devoted to the introductory article on social work from the perspective of the target group of seniors. Attention is paid especially to the introduction to the political context and the social security system and the functioning of social services. A necessary part of this work is also a brief historical excursion, which is described in the third chapter. The historical excursion briefly maps the period from the 17th century to the first half of the 20th century, in the context of perception of old age, death and family cohabitation. Sociálně ekologická perspektiva v školské sociální práci Abstract The bachelor's thesis deals with adaptation courses in high schools, implemented by the Social Pedagogical Counseling Center in Zlín. This is a pilot project aiming to facilitate cooperation between school and family not only through school social work. Although the counseling center offers several activities for several target groups, the thesis deals exclusively with adaptation courses. The aim of the thesis is to find out how the adaptation courses fulfill the objectives of the Social Pedagogical Counseling Center in Zlín. This was investigated through qualitative research, carried out in the form of a focus group with counselors who taught the course. A content analysis of the documents created during the course was also carried out. There were 2 reports from the advisory board for schools and 4 questionnaires filled in by each student, with a total of 1,730 respondents. Together they came from 2 schools, 11 classes and 4 different fields of study. Accessibility of Social Services for Deaf Seniors in the Czech Republic

This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of the provision of social services to the deaf elderly - users of Czech sign language, especially within the Prague area. The aim of the research is to map the possibilities of providing these services and to find out their usability, quality, satisfaction as well as the cooperation of family members while arranging them. The thesis is based on the fact that the topic of the accessibility of social services and the research on the frequency of deaf clients in social care services have not been properly researched yet. The problem is also the lack of professional sources. The theoretical part of this thesis is based on sources of a legislative nature as well as professional sources talking about the provision of social services in general. Later on, it also describes individual organisations providing outreach and ambulatory social services to deaf people and chosen residential services providing such services for the deaf elderly abroad are described here too. Screening of high-risk senior citizens - cooperation between the healthcare social worker and general practitioners for adults Social work in healthcare

This diploma thesis is dedicated to the topic of social work in healthcare. It deals directly with the possibility of linking this with primary healthcare within the framework of cooperation between general practitioners for adults and healthcare social workers. The theoretical part clarifies not only the concepts and aspects related to ageing, but also the health characteristics of senior citizens and the social impact of age-related diseases. These theoretical topics are complemented by two case reports from practice. Qualitative research enabled the views of general practitioners for adults to be understood and interpreted through semi-structured interviews. The interviews specified not only their perceived position and standard practices, but also the set conditions and points of friction on the borderline between healthcare and provision of social services in care for the elderly in their private practices. Awareness of primary school teachers about domestic violence

The bachelor's thesis aims to explore the awareness of primary school teachers regarding domestic violence, educational programs available for prevention, and their knowledge about domestic violence. The theoretical part of the thesis delves into defining the fundamental concepts related to this issue. It discusses key terminologies such as domestic violence, children as victims of domestic violence, the abused child syndrome, the protocols for teachers when suspecting domestic violence in a child, as well as prevention and teachers' awareness of domestic violence. Professionalization of volunteering management in social services in selected volunteer centres of Caritas Czech Republic

The diploma thesis deals with the professionalization of volunteer management in social services in selected volunteer centers of Caritas Czech Republic. The objective of the thesis is to analyze volunteer management in selected volunteer centers of Caritas Czech Republic. In order to fulfill the objective, a research question is set to find out what factors influence the volunteer center coordinators in managing volunteers. The diploma thesis is divided into two parts - conceptual and empirical. The conceptual part deals with volunteering in religious organizations, faith-based motivation of volunteers, volunteer management, volunteer management and volunteering in Caritas Czech Republic. For the empirical part, qualitative research, the method of interviewing and analysis is chosen. The data are obtained on the basis of semi-structured interviews and document studies. Five communication partners from four volunteer centers participated in the research. At the same time, an analysis of annual reports, accreditation documents and strategic plans of each Caritas branch in which the research was conducted, was done. Meeting the needs of elderly in the respite residential care

The bachelor's thesis deals with fullfilling the needs of the elderly in residential respite services, with a focus on activation activities. The first chapter of the theoretical part of the bachelor's thesis is devoted to the topic of old age and ageing, describing the changes on different levels that are associated with the ageing process. The second chapter turns attention to human needs and motivation, the theories of motivation and needs according to H. Murray, Deci and Ryan are represented here. The thesis pays significant attention to A. Maslow's theory of needs and his pyramid of needs, which is an important link of the entire bachelor's thesis. The chapter ends with a brief description of V. Frankl's theory. The third chapter describes activation activities for the elderly, explaining the concept of free time and lifestyle. The most important content here is the description of selected expressive therapies that are used in activation activities with the elderly. The last fourth chapter of the theoretical part informs about the characteristics and mission of the given social service.
