Migration, Gender, Class, and Temporality: The Case of Female Labour Migrants from Philippines.

The diploma thesis deals with the experiences of women from the Philippines who work in the Czech Republic in the manufacturing sector. The author performs an intersec}onal analysis across themes of gender, class, and migra}on. The objec}ves of this theses are to analyze of the impact of a par}cular type of temporary employment (residence status and working condi}ons) on the social life of the migrants, as well as a renec}on on the efects of the temporary labor migra}on on the prac}ce of transna}onal family rela}onships. Qualita}ve research is conducted using the method of semi-structured interviews with migrant women from the Philippines, along with other stakeholders from employment agencies, state administra}on, and non-proot organiza}ons. Intersectionality From the Perspective of Feminist Activist Collectives in the Czech Republic

Intersectionality is a topic that resonates with feminist activist collectives in the Czech Republic. Half of the collectives included in this research publicly identify as intersectional, while most of the remaining collectives identify with intersectionality at least to some extent. However, intersectionality is a complex theoretical concept, and one can ask how the collectives understand intersectionality and how they translate it into their practice. Much of the interviews revealed that discursive approaches to intersectionality are driven by an ethos of social justice, i.e. a better world for all. This implies an appeal to inclusivity, which was differentiated in several interviews between inward and outward inclusivity. Outward inclusivity was manifested by including more areas of social justice in the discourse and actions of the collective. At the discursive and practical level, I identified other, equally important, approaches to intersectionality, which I describe in this thesis. Intersectionality, in relation to the actual self-identification of collectives, also expresses an effort to distance oneself from exclusionary strands of feminism or activism in general, and in this respect intersectionality can also take on a normative character. The Female Gaze: Pornography from Czech Women's Perspective

This master theses examines the phenomenon of pornography through the lens of feminism and the female gaze, which enables to consider women's perspectives and experiences as active viewers. The thesis is grounded in a feminist framework and aims to challenge prevailing narratives and stereotypes concerning women's engagement with pornography, based on research predominantly focused on male viwers and male pornography consumption, as well as striving to identify the diverse motivations, sexual desires, preferences and interpretations of women who engage with pornography. The research employs qualitative methods, primarily relying on semi-structured interviews with women who consume pornography. The analysis, influenced by the grounded theory, focuses on the complexity and diversity of the female gaze, examining how women navigate and negotiate their sexuality and desires, and also on the intersections of pornography and feminist theories. By centering around the voices of women, this theses contributes to more inclusive and nuanced understanding of how women engage with and interpret pornography. Czech pop-music as a platform for debating women's sexuality

The thesis titled Czech Popular Music as a Platform for Thematization of Female Sexuality deals with young Czech female performers who, through the lyrics of their songs, interviews in the media, and performances at concerts, thematize the female experience. I analysed the selected song lyrics of five female performers, their interviews and notes from the field diary using qualitative content analysis and further interpreted the results in seven different thematic categories. The thesis consists of a theoretical and an empirical part. In the theoretical part, I mainly focus on defining post-feminism and post-feminist sensibility, popular culture and the perception of physicality in the environment of popular music. The empirical part consists of methodology, qualitative content analysis and subsequent interpretation.

Furthermore, this paper will shed a light on the complexities inherent to the process of consent negociation within sex, sexual assault and rape. The objective is to challenge the gender-neutral and neo-liberal perception of consent of Denmark, and in turn reveal and challenge the heteronormative structures that persist in our societal comprehension of gender, sex and sexualities. A further discussion will be had on the re-imagining of sex culture and in which ways consent proves to be a limited concept for envisioning an equal and feminist sex culture. A final point will be made regarding the other structural inequalities that are concealed due to the Danish approach to consent, and how this affects the court cases at hand. (Re)production of the canon in the 20th century architectural historiography: critical analysis

The thesis (Re)Production of the Canon in the 20th Century Architectural Historiography: Critical Analysis deals with the topic of the architectural canon and especially on a critical reflection on the principles of its formation. The thesis presents the theoretical background and argumentation appearing in both foreign and czech texts (published from the second wave of feminism to the present) that view the architectural canon and the interpretation of architectural history critically - primarily through the cathegory of gender. The analytical part of the thesis focuses on a quantitative and qualitative content analysis of syllabi for survey courses on the history of architecture taught at Czech universities, with the aim of answering the research question: How is the history of 20th century architecture taught at universities in the Czech Republic - and to what extent is it a history that takes into account the creative contribution of women? He decided to become a nurse

This diploma thesis "He decided to become a Nurse" discusses men who decided to enter a heavily feminized profession, studied nursing at secondary school or followed up secondary education with higher education - either at a college or in a bachelor's or master's program at a university's medical faculty, and currently work in a medical facility in the Czech Republic as a nurse. Qualitative research conducted with communication partners using semi- structured interviews investigated what was behind this decision to choose a profession that is usually perceived as feminine, what expectations the men had, and whether these expectations were fulfilled or changed during the practice. The results of the work could serve, among other things, also for personnel officers and personnel of health facilities or head nurses of hospitals to understand the problem of shortage or turnover of male nurses.
