Metropolization processes in the Bratislava metropolitan region

This bachelor's thesis focuses on metropolization processes, which are investigated in the territory of the Bratislava metropolitan region. In the era of globalization, metropolises become an interesting object of observation, as their development is the most significant. However, their hinterland should not be forgotten, which is also dynamically changing thanks to the central city. The analytical part of this thesis will be focused primarily on the transformation of Bratislava's hinterland, secondarily on the historical development of Bratislava as a metropolis. The result of this thesis is an analysis of the processes of metropolization in the Bratislava metropolitan region based on selected indicators. Economic inequalities in EU: capital flows between the core and the periphery

The subject of this bachelor thesis is the economic inequalities in the European Union between 1999 and 2018, with the aim to analyze the impact of capital flows resulting from dividends and remittances paid out on the development of spatial disparities between national states. The first part of the thesis attempts to anchor the theme into the concept of the World system by I. Wallerstein with an overlap into the historical context, which formed the basis for today's polarization of Europe. The following is a brief description of the pros and cons of inequalities with the presentation of the European Union's efforts to address this problem. In the methodological part there are described the tools for the study of variability and capital flows. The empirical study applies methodological approaches to the specific data of gross domestic product and gross disposable income coming mainly from Eurostat. Metropolitanization and peripherization processes in selected regions of Poland and Czechia: Trends and changes in regional development

This master's thesis deals with the metropolitanization and peripherization in two Polish voivodeships and one Czech NUTS 2 region, documents and compares these processes. Firstly, the used indicators are analyzed, metropolitan areas, peripheries and other territories are delimited by the cluster method. Furthermore, the development of parts of the region and, above all, metropolitan areas are dealt with. Other parts of the thesis are focused on commuting relations in metropolitan areas and entire regions. Key words: metropolitanization, peripherization, Czechia, Poland, regionalization

Spatial polarity of socioeconomic differentiation in Hungary

This thesis is devoted to the study of spatial polarity socioeconomic differentiation of Hungary. The findings of this phenomenon serves a number of statistically-based indicators which are analyzed. These indicators are divided into three groups (economic, social and other) for comprehensive look at differencial in Hungary. Also, this text seeks to define the determinants of the polarity. Based on an analysis of indicators is came to a synthesis, which aims to define more developed parts of Hungary and the less developed.
