Man and the City - philosophical and cultural-anthropological aspects of the problem
Panoušková, Markéta ; Semrádová, Ilona (advisor) ; Hogenová, Anna (referee) ; Kalábová, Helena (referee)
This dissertation thesis focuses on the philosophical aspects of the relationship of Man toward the city. The main methods of the work are interpretation of texts connected with the city and a philosophically inspired analysis of the bond of Man with the city as a space and time constructed, inhabited and shared by humans, and with its experienced phenomena. First of all it presents the method by which the theme of the city has been dealt with by scholars from the field of philosophy and other social sciences. We find the theme of the city in the works of a whole range of philosophers: For example, it served J. A. Comenius as a symbol of human situation in life, Michel Foucault as a point of departure for his political-philosophical analysis of power, and Emmanuel Lévinas for his discourse on culpability, punishment and responsibility. In order to understand the phenomenon of the city, observations from sociologists, architects, town planners and historians of architecture are also important. Moreover, in their works it is possible to find overlaps into philosophical thought, for example Bernard Lepetit contributes to the theme of the temporality of the city with the concept of the "trace", whilst Jan Gehl, through his discourse on the perception of environment and the challenge of applying a human...
Arete, education, sport
Kalenský, Petr ; Hogenová, Anna (advisor) ; Kalábová, Helena (referee) ; Semrádová, Ilona (referee)
The term ARETE originated in Ancient Greece. It refers to intentional state of mind which leads to correct task-performing. Prof. Patočka considered ARETE a classification of free life. It is a certain virtue of man who not only focuses on his life but also tries to build a space for his realization by perceiving the true nature of things and acting in harmony with it. In this sense Heraclitus had already spoken about ARETE and similar conclusions were drawn by taoists in China, too. Education was highly regarded in Ancient Greece. A man could acquire ARETE through education. However, a teacher could not teach in such a way we understand nowadays. The teacher must be rather a tutor who is leading a student up the right path to the good as Socrates used to teach in Athens. It is not about quantity of knowledge but it is important to know fundamental principles, to understand relationships, to know their background. Sport was held in honour of the Gods, it was sacred. A winner of the Olympic Games proved his gratitude to Gods by achieving his success. The origin of the Olympic Games was then entirely based on ARETE. Key words: ARETE, education, sport, harmony, Olympic Games
Philosophy and conception of education by K. Jaspers in the background eschatology
Kowalski, Piotr Marek ; Pelcová, Naděžda (advisor) ; Kalábová, Helena (referee) ; Rybák, David (referee)
Ve své práci spojuji filosofické myšlení K. Jasperse s eschatologií v souvislosti s výchovnými motivy. Snažím se zachytit pojetí filosofické víry, mezních situací, existenční a existenciální úzkosti s láskyplným výchovným vedením druhého člověka. Dotýkám se rovněž myšlenek jiných filosofů, kteří svým způsobem nosné myšlenky K. Jasperse doplňují, především S. Kierkegaarda, I. Kanta, F. Nietzscheho, M. Heideggera, G. Marcela, E. Lévinase. Klíčová slova: eschatologie, výchova, mezní situace, existenční a existenciální úzkost, láska, smrt ABSTRACT In his work unite the philosophical thinking of K. Jaspers with eschatology in connection with educational themes. I trying to capture the concept of philosophical beliefs, critical situations, human and existential anxiety and educational leadership with loving another person. It covers also the ideas of other philosophers, who are supporting ideas in a way complementary K. Jaspers, especially S. Kierkegaard, I. Kant, F. Nietzsche, M. Heidegger, G. Marcel, E. Lévinas. Keywords: eschatology, education, critical situation, human and existential anxiety, love, death
Aesthetics and Politics: Jacques Rancière's approach
Krochmalný, Ondřej ; Hauser, Michael (advisor) ; Hogenová, Anna (referee) ; Kalábová, Helena (referee)
v anglickém jazyce Proposed thesis focuses on the writings of french theoretician Jacques Rancière. Particular emphasis is put on a manner, in which the spheres of aesthetics and politics appear and intervine in Rancière's works. The consequence of forementioned delimitation of the subject of my interest is that the thesis doesn't fully embody Rancière's thought. Mainly because of the restricted space, i omitted Rancière's historiographical works and also texts that deal with the narrowly defined questions of literature and film. Despite of those limitations, my goal is to provide a monographical introduction to Rancière's thought. This monograph, on the one hand, doesn't claim the complete coverage of Rancière's works, but it aims, on the other hand, to provide the overall insight into the essential questions that shaped (and still shape) Rancière's thought.

Illess as the opportunity to care and consideration
Kalábová, Helena ; Hogenová, Anna (advisor) ; Schlegelová, Jaroslava (referee) ; Sochůrek, Jan (referee)
The study called ILLESS AS THE OPPORTUNITY TO CARE AND CONSIDERATION Is fenomenologically focused on a variety of seeing the world affected by an illness. Bio-psycho-social-spiritual model of illness is generally understood as the integration of the figures concerning body, mind and socially-spiritual conditions. The solution is arranged in a multi-feature attitude to the therapy, involving bodywork and psychotherapy in terms of mindcare aiming to reach recovering changes, respectively metamorphosis. The basis is found in respect to the body-organism as a self-organizing system creating its own world coming from self-relating autopoiesis. Showing respect to patients brings unexpected theoretical and therapeutical options, concerning that issue there is the contraversion of traditional kartezian western thinking with radical contructivism, which as a new-age empirically advenced alternative of scientific positivism is apparently not fully practised in medicine nowadays. Illnes is seen as disaretation-exasperation,disbalance.Treatment in terms of techne on kartezian thesis puts emphasis on total organism rehabilitation but health in terms of physis cannot be brought back anymore.
