State of charge prediction of lead acid batteries
Chochola, Ondřej ; Bača, Petr (referee) ; Křivík, Petr (advisor)
The general aim of the thesis is a detailed examination of battery charging condition possibility of lead-acid accumulator with the help of pulse current method. The methodology consists of experimental cell testing by pulse battery charging and pulse battery discharging during a progressive change of charging and discharging current as well as charging and discharging time change. The testing procedure proceeds at a various battery charging condition. Principal aim of this work is to compare final voltage dependencies and to establish the usability of pulse current method to determine battery charging condition.
Test parameters and conditions of amorphous photovoltaic modules
Kostelník, Adam ; Křivík, Petr (referee) ; Vaněk, Jiří (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with the problem of thin film solar cells, their parameters and measuring. The introductory chapter describes the properties of individual thin-film technology, summarizes their advantages against the crystalline silicon cell. Another chapter is exclusively focused on thin-film cells based on amorphous silicon. There is described the manufacturing processes of amorphous cells and modifications performed during the manufacturing. One part of master’s thesis is dedicated to the description of basic electrical quantities and PV cell degradation mechanisms that negatively affect these electrical properties. It is explained in detail the most important degradation phenomenon called Steabler - Wronski effect. The master’s thesis describes standards regarding testing amorphous cells as well as method, how to achieve their performance stability. The practical part is focused on the testing of several single-layer amorphous cells that were exposed to degradation and regeneration effects. One part of the thesis is studying of a new method of testing of amorphous cell, where is necessary to determine whether it is the degradation or regeneration process. Measured values obtained from several types of measurements were compared, evaluated and displayed in the graphs. The recommendation for future testing of amorphous article is stated in the final chapter.
Economics and viability of photovoltaic power station
Mrázek, Dalibor ; Bača, Petr (referee) ; Křivík, Petr (advisor)
At the beginning of the submitted work, I dealt with the study of various types of photovoltaic panels, their diverse use, effectiveness, advantages of each type and description of climate in the Czech Republic. Depending on the number of sunny days and no claudy days, I was looking for the best areas photovoltaic power. On the basis of cooperation with the firm and Energ-servis and using their test center, I compare different types of panels, their performance in relation with the cost and method of purchase. From these data, six diverse installation, I tried to determine the best type of panel that is best for the South Moravian region in the cost / return on investment.
Exploring the influence of pressure on the life of lead acid batteries for hybrid electric vehicles
Čech, Tomáš ; Křivík, Petr (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
The goal of the thesis is to study literature and to become familiar with problems of accumulators operating in the mode of hybrid electric vehicles (HEV). To work up problems of a potential impact of the influence on the system of the lead accumulator. Assemble the experimental cells with discontinuous system of parallel fins and to treat them with different operating modes. Then to evaluate the results.
Software for CCD camera used for electroluminescence
Kuttelwascher, Pavel ; Křivík, Petr (referee) ; Vaněk, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis studies the optimization of diagnosis defects of the photovoltaic cells in the darkroom by the help of new operating software for the used CCD camera. First the present situation and the possible solutions are analyzed. Then the attention is paid to the theory of light-sensitive CCD sensors, their construction, their principles of operation and the theory of scanning images. The thesis also focuses on the analysis of the function of the operating libraries which were provided by the equipment producer. The key part is the development of the application for the camera G2-3200 of the "Moravske pristroje" company which significantly accelerates the work with the camera in the darkroom.
The power of solar radiation falling on a photovoltaic module
Kaliyev, Alexey ; Jandová, Kristýna (referee) ; Křivík, Petr (advisor)
The work is focused on the problem of the solar radiation power impacting on a photovoltaic module. In the theoretical part, the possibilities of using solar energy in renewable energy sources, especially in photovoltaic panels and solar collectors, were discussed and presented. Then the materials on the use of solar energy in these sources were reviewed. In addition, the three main components of incident solar radiation on a photovoltaic module or solar collector were described. Finally, the method for calculating the position of the sun across the sky was discussed and presented, as well as the method for calculating the various components of incident solar radiation on a photovoltaic module.
Study of active mass volume changes of lead acid battery electrodes
Nevoral, Miroslav ; Vaněk, Jiří (referee) ; Křivík, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis deals with detailed study of influence of thurst on attributes of positive and negative electrode masses of lead acid battery electrodes with main accent on explanation of measured characteristics. Three kinds of electrode systems were put together and measured. Measured characteristics of changes of thurst power were recalculated during charging and discharging to changes of total thickness of system.
Investigation of carbon effect in negative active mass on lead-acid accumulator for HEV.
Tonar, Karel ; Křivík, Petr (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
The lead-acid bateries for hybrid-electric vehicle (HEV) working under high-rate partial-state-of-charge (HRPSoC) conditions. The negative plates of lead-acid batteries have low charge acceptance. The cycle life of the batteries is dependent on the rate accumulation of PbSO4 on the negative plates. Addition of some carbon or graphite forms to the negative paste mix improves the charge efficieny and slows down sulfation of the negative plates. The master’s thesis wants to explain the contribution of electrochemically active carbon (EAC) additives to the mechanis of the electrochemical reaction of charge of the negative plates.
Influence of the pulse charge on properties of the lead acid batteries
Zbožínek, Štěpán ; Vaculík, Sebastian (referee) ; Křivík, Petr (advisor)
The presented master´s thesis deals with lead-acid batteries and methods of their charging. First part shortly describes the problems of lead-acid batteries. There are introduced common principles, type of construction and requirements, that should be complied with lead-acid batteries. Following part discusses the basic characteristics of charging. There is given a detailed description of current pulse charging method, on which is also mainly focused this master´s thesis. For this charging method, several basic experiments were done in order to verify functionality of the measuring device, software, the tested cells and primarily to verify charging modes. The goal of this thesis is to find out suitable mode of pulse charging, which would be fast as well as tested cells-friendly. The conclusion of this master´s thesis contains a resume of acquired theoretical knowledge and an evaluation of measured results, on which was the appropriate charging mode proposed.
