Effect of hunting pressure on microhabitat preference of red deer in the Doupov Mts.
Křivan, Lukáš ; Ježek, Miloš (advisor) ; Stanislav, Stanislav (referee)
This master thesis is focused on GPS telemetry of red deer (Cercus elaphus) in the environment of the Doupov Mountains in the Military training Hradiště. In the first part of the thesis are solution of introduction to general issues preferences and the occurrence of red deer and other related ungulates. The second part of the thesis is focused on my own research. The Positional data monitored hind Dorothy was collected in the period 1. 7. 30. 3. 2014. The aim was to determine, if the time hunting have to influence to microhabitat preferences on the hind of red deer and if the selection of posts are accidental or is influenced by the characteristics of the post. The Research conducted of data inventory from GPS using collar and of data, which arised laser air scanning the surface (technology LiDAR). For comparison and finding the preferences of the hind was created the network accidental comparative points. Field exploration and LiDAR technology consider the dependence of the average height of vegetation around of Dorothy positions the period of the year and the time of day. Data was evaluated ANOVA for the non-parametric data distribution (Kruskal-Wallisova) and the program Microsoft Excel. At each station has been carefully identified information about the location including visibility of the hunting-game device and height of stand. The results indicate that the average height of the vegetation was at the stands searched by the hind of red deer during a sunrise and a day. The lowest was in night and at sunset. The hind of red deer prefer, in hunting time during the day, thick scrub and during the night more open spaces with larger views properties, where she actively looking for food. The most preferred visibility at the time of hunting and off time hunting was to the eastern direction. The most least preferred visibility was always to the western direction. Minimum presence of the hunting-game device is in the time of hunting during at the day and sunrise, maximum at night. This behavior was probably caused increased hunting activity. The results of the thesis may be used in forestry management, for forest protection and by planning of hunting management of the red deer populations.
Using phototraps to the counting of wildlife animals
Hnízdil, Aleš ; Ježek, Miloš (advisor) ; Peterka, Tomáš (referee)
The subject of my Bachelor Thesis was verification of wildlife census methods by using phototraps in region of Doupovské Mountains and Bohemian Forest. Many of the organizations that are involved in these methods should bring a solution of this problem. This topic is discussed in management of wild animals for more than 40 years. This thesis should help to look at the wild animals monitoring from a different point of view. For this research were used 21 phototraps and evaluated 20 106 pictures. Information were processed in MS Excel. The data build a basis for animals density evaluation. Results show the adequate number of phototraps in the area in duration of 6 weeks brings more significant results.
Trapping systems on wild boar - techniques and utilization
Hradilová, Adéla ; Ježek, Miloš (advisor) ; Mrkvičková Kořanová, Diana (referee)
This thesis addresses the first part of a literature review on the types of traps for wild boars and the possibility of running them. Also in this section is also included Czech legislation related to the topic of trapping wild boars. The second part is more catching device is placed in a hunting Blazice - Sovadina, which is currently undergoing a wild boar. The cage will evaluate the success of the capture. Catching devices have been installed in various parts of the hunting grounds. Predominantly located in agricultural crops. Evaluation will be well used in baits.
Monitoring of raccoon dog aktivity in Opava
Staněk, Petr ; Kušta, Tomáš (advisor) ; Ježek, Miloš (referee)
This work deals with invasive predator racoon dog (Nyctereutes procyonoides). It is a comprehensive work consisting of general information about its history and later spread to the whole Word, etology and biology as information collected on the basis of thousands of images and hundreds of videos from scout camera located close to natural burrow at Opava in the hunting district hunting club in Hlavnice. The emphasis here is primarily on the course of the day and night activities throughout the year, food preferences, coexistence with other kinds of beasts and ways of dealing with stressful situations. During the observation we were found that his peak of activity was among the sunrise and the second one lately after sunset. Cohabitation with badger is also possible. As for food preferences we realized that racoon dog did not prioritize any kind of food and eat everything what we gave to him.
Effect of game management pratices on the roe deer population
Heřman, Vladimír ; Ježek, Miloš (advisor) ; Benediktová, Kateřina (referee)
In selected hunting grounds MS Obratan was monitored a development of population of Roe deer (Capreolus capreolus) and the influence of the environment on this population. There are data available about the blasting and weights of the caught pieces from eleven years, from 2005 to 2015. These data are divided by gender, respectively. divided on roe deer, deer and roe. Data were analyzed with regard to the time hunting during the year, together with the weight of the piece. In 2012 there was found an obvious increase in weight of the caught pieces of Roe deer, which was more distincted in the caught deer. It was also found that the month, in which the pieces were caught, does not affect its weight.
Supplementary feeding and its effects on body condition of roe deer in Vitice hunting area
Švrčula, Vladislav ; Kušta, Tomáš (advisor) ; Ježek, Miloš (referee)
The theoretical part of this thesis describes roe deer in terms of ethology, biology and deals with damage caused by its occurence in forests and game managament interesting in roar deer. Research field of thesis is concerned the evaluation of feeding in Vitice (Česky Brod) area in the period 2000-2014 and influence onthe condition and body weight. For the evaluation of data gathering was used multiple linear regression, Spearman correlation coefficient and the non-parametric test Kruskal-Walisova ANOVA. Research in this area has been found that a gradual increase of the feed had an effect on body weight gain of roe deer.
Effect of hunting pressure on red deer activity
Rohla, Jan ; Ježek, Miloš (advisor) ; Obleser, Petr (referee)
In this work, I dealt with the impact of hunting pressure on the activity of red deers (Cervus elaphus) in Doupov mountains. The main goal was to find out, whether intensive killing will change the activity of deers, and also hinds. Evaluated data should be useful for easier reduction of these animals not only in Doupov Mountains. Numbers of deers have been very high in the last few years and it would be necessary to achieve effective reductions, which would reduce the population to a tolerable limit. That should contribute to decreasing animal causes in forests and agriculture crops. Decreasing the numbers of deers should also lead to improving the quality of this spiecies not only in terms of trophies, but also the overall physical condition. It turned out that the activity decreased significantly during hunting. The reduction of activity began basically with the sunrise and ended in the sunset. For most individuals the activity increased in the night hours. In both July and August it turned out that there is a significant difference in activity among both day and sunset as well as day and night, while the lowest amount of activity was in the daytime, and in the sunset it has increased significantly. The highest activity was basically at dusk. From these results we can say that when comparing the two periods, the significant activity is mainly in the evening and night hours.
