Pastoral care at the facilities of The Diaconia of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren

This work deals with pastoral care at the facilities of The Diaconia of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren (DECCB) with a focus on residential facilities for the elderly. It brings a closer look into the organization DECCB, its history and organizational culture, it summarizes the current knowledge of elderly age. Attention is paid to communication with seniors as well as to residence facilities for the elderly and to spiritual needs in elderly age. The practical part of the thesis presents the results of qualitative research carried out among pastoral workers who work in the residential homes for elderly people. The research deals with the offer of pastoral care in homes, specific questions within individual pastoral care of the elderly, and also personal requirements of the pastoral worker.
Ergotherapy for People with HIV Dementia

HIV/AIDS is a global threat with no cure. Millions of victims suffer from this illness without a possibility to be treated properly. Mildmay hospital in north east London specializes in care and rehabilitation for those who have this illness and live in the UK. It has a unique rehabilitation programme for those with HIV related brain impairment (HRBI). HRBI is part of a disease process. One part of the whole rehabilitation programme is an occupational therapy, which aims to improve patients' activities of daily living and enjoy their lives in its fullness. Multidisciplinary approach allows assessing the rehabilitation and care needs for each person. The result is an individually tailored and structured rehabilitation programme. Patient meets those interdisciplinary members that are most appropriate for his/ her particular needs. It is depended on the stage of the illness but if the rehabilitation is combined with the Highly Active Antiretroviral Therapy (HAART) there usually is a success. After the four week assessment period a discharge planning starts. Patients usually return back into their communities or they go into residential or nursing home care. Social Work in a Medical Department with a Geriatric Patient

The bachelor thesis introduces the role of medical-social worker/social worker during the process of planned release of geriatric senior from medical department. It results from demographic prognosis that the number of seniors in higher age will grow up constantly. Therefore the connection between social and medical area is important to ensure a quality and dignified style of life. The subject of geriatrics specialized in ill senior as a person with biological, psychological and social peculiarities. Health and social worker, who is a member of geriatric team, assists in ensuring this style of life by planning the process of release from medical department to senior's natural environment. The worker involves in this process senior's family and he applies his knowledge of social services, attitudes and methods of social work. Conditions to prolong the life at home for older adults with reduced self-sufficiency

Abstract in English This work analyzes the conditions which mean that seniors must leave their habitat due to decondition their health and limitation self-support. There is a chance they couldn't go back. They change home environment for institute of residence social services. The theoretical part shows possibilities which help eliminate or at least put back permanent leaving normal environment. Practical part describes the qualitative research results. The research was made by the focus group method with seniors living home group. The purpose is the detection how they sense these possibilities and what variety is acceptable for them. In addition the practical part is enriched by the watching results of seniors' home environment who are using personal assistance services. The expected result of this work is appellation of impacts that have an effect on moving from home environment to institute diligence.
