The topic of this thesis is a Reflection of police work from 1989 to the present. The thesis is divided into a theoretical part, which describes the organization structures of the police with a focus on criminal police, the literature i used, and the thesis of my predecessors. Further the practical part, in which the reflection of the police officers who serve in the police force for the whole specified period of time on the different areas of criminal activity is determined with the help of guided interviews. The aim of the thesis is to provide the public with the views of police officers on their work and its development over time since revolution to this day. Reflection of the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in Life Stories of Psychologists

The thesis presents the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy as reflected by representatives of the field. Through biographical narratives, I have attempted, together with the narrators, to identify moments and events in thein lives that may have had a decisive influence on thein choice of profession and also to describe thein professional development. At the same time, I tried to presented thein occupation in more details including the fact how it affects thein personal lives. From a methodological point of view, the thesis is primarily based on the biographical narratives of five narrators, most of whom have more than ten years of experience in psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
Hospitality industry in the shadow of the virus: The coronavirus pandemic and its impact on lives of people working in hospitality

The diploma thesis focuses on the two-year duration of the COVID-19 pandemic and with the usage of the oral history method explains its impact on people working in the hospitality sector in the Czech Republic during this time. The text of the thesis is divided into theoretical-methodological and empirical parts. The theoretical-methodological part provides an insight into the practice of oral history during the global pandemic and reports on studies that address this topic. At the same time, it details not only the chosen methodology, but also the challenges that arose during the fieldwork, due to the limitations that this specific time brought. The main aim of the empirical part of this study is to depict in chronological order how and to what extent the different phases of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic affected the professional and personal lives of the narrators. Based on nine oral history interviews with five narrators, conducted during field research in the spring of 2021 and the winter of 2022, this issue is discussed from a time-lapse perspective. Through interpretations of the testimonies taken, research of press published in this period and reflections on government regulations, the narrators' life stories are thus placed in the context of the pandemic era. Primárně orálně-historický výzkum se zaměřuje na problematiku každodennosti v antikvariátu, specifika práce se starými knihami a jejich proměnu v různých časových obdobích s důrazem na vybrané mezníky. Slovak expats in Prague during normalisation

The aim of the final thesis will be to examine the Slovak community in Prague during the socalled normalization period. The year 1968 is set as a fundamental milestone when significant events took place in the development of Czechoslovakia. In the thesis, we will be interested in the motivations behind the arrival of Slovaks in Prague, their assimilation in the new environment, and how they perceived the different cultural surroundings. An important assumption is that Slovaks came to Prague in order to improve their standard of living. At the same time, the scope of our research is limited to the 1970s, and we will attempt to analyze in more detail the experiences of Slovaks in Prague who migrated during this period.
Implementation and development of the Internet in the Czech Republic

The aim of this thesis is to map the beginnings of the Internet in the Czech Republic, i.e. its implementation and development from the beginning of the 1990s (the first connection to international computer networks) to the turn of the millennium, when there is an exponential growth of the Internet in the Czech republic. The research is primarily based on the oral history method, the narrators are people that were at the beginning of the implementation of this technology. This thesis also describes the beginnings of important organizations managing certain aspects of the Czech Internet, the commercialization of the Internet, and an example of the development of a metropolitan network. The work is supplemented with historical documents and articles. For a broader context, the origin and development of the Internet itself is described here, with its subsequent expansion into Europe. There is no comprehensive description of the development of this important technology in the Czech republic. The thesis tries to change this fact.
The Development of Modern Accountant 1989-2004

This thesis deals with the accounting profession and its development between 1989 and 2004. The year 1989 is set with consideration of the change in the economic system of the former Czechoslovakia, which occurred as a result of the post-November events. The year 2004 follows the entry of the Czech Republic into the European Union. I thus trace thedevelopment of the accounting profession against the background of the transformation of the economic system, the development of computer technology and the adoption of new laws and accounting standards. I have used several different types of sources for this thesis, including period manuals, accounting and tax journals, archival sources, as well assources obtained through the oral history method. These form the main basis for the empirical part of the thesis, which deals with the business environment in the 1990s which created the conditions for the development of the accounting profession; the adoption further of new laws and the way how accountants became familiar with these regulations, including the relationship between accountants and the Tax Office, and also with special emphasis on the Accountants Union as an institution that not only educates accountants but also represents the accounting profession; the impact that the development of computer...
