Batterer intervention programs as a way of increasing an effectiveness of prevention of domestic violence on women in the Czech Republic

Diploma thesis Batterer intervention programs as a way of increasing an effectiveness of prevention of domestic violence on women in the Czech Republic deals with the issue of domestic violence against women and its impact on the Czech state budget. On example of the impact of domestic violence on children as witnesses of this violence, I try to explain that through strengthening a prevention of domestic violence (public awareness, programs for children and therapeutic work with perpetrators) the economic impact could be reduce. The main aim of this study is to define all economic losses associated with domestic violence against women, describe how is domestic violence solved by government and whether this solution reflects the high risk of transmitting of violent patterns from parent to child. Aims of the study focuses on the economic losses associated with domestic violence against women dealing with domestic violence by the state and abroad reflection of good practice. Increasing numbers of missed children to pre-school education are debated political agend, which is paid in recent years much attention. This thesis focuses on selected cities in the Ústí region, in which it was carried Examining the city's strategy in addressing the shortage of places in kindergartens. The aim of the study was to analyze how the institution kindergarten conceive community as their founders are more motivated and influenced by their particular decisions regarding the operation of schools and municipalities to the requirements of the above policies and actors reflect. In this thesis used a case study method, the analysis of individual cases of municipalities and their strategies. Another method used was semi-structured interviews and content analysis with representatives of the municipalities in the Usti region who were previously e-mail communications asked for cooperation and familiar with the objectives and content of the work. Early Childhood Education as Means of Parental and Professional Roles in Region Ústí

My thesis "Pre-school education as a means of harmonization of parental and working roles in the region Ústí", focuses on different types of kindergartens, which can be one of the tools for harmonization of parental and professional roles. This issue is also linked with the problem of lack of places in kindergartens, which isn't entirely new, but there has not be found yet any suitable solutions that would help eliminate this problem. Because of wide range of different types of kindergartens parents have the option to choose suitable kindergarten for their children as well as kindergarten can adapt to demands of parent so that they were allowed to return to work. This work is concerned with the extent to which directors of kindergartens (as frontline employees) and municipality (representatives bureaucracy) affect the determined indicators (time availability, space availability, affordability and services), and adaptation of the kindergartens with respect to harmonization of parental and working roles. Character and development of Gender Impact Assessment on the background of the framework of the gender mainstreaming concept

The thesis is aimed at - previously not researched - Gender Impact Assessment in the Czech Republic. It analysis, evaluates and interprets the character and development of the assessment process applied by three ministries in 2007-2014. A total of 236 outputs from the assessment were studied through the qualitative content analysis and the created analytical tool. The results were both explored with statistical methods and evaluated and interpreted simultaneously. The conceptual and theoretical part of the thesis explains the gender mainstreaming concept, the Czech legislative framework of Regulatory Impact Assessment and the theories of gender equality, public policy evaluation and Europeanization. The research is supported by the data obtained from interviews with expert which both describe and evaluate the assessment process and suggest recommendations for its improvement. It has been proved that primarily the assessment deals with some obstacles mainly caused by its authors who may put less emphasis on impact on equality between men and women, downplay it, do not respect the rules, do not have wide range of formulations, copy the formulations, assess more different impacts at the same time or do not have sufficient knowledge of the gender issue. The aim of thesis European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations 2012 in Czech Republic and Germany is to describe and compare the approach of these two countries to the said initiative of the European Union. The society increasingly has to deal with the effects of demographic aging, which affects not only the seniors, but also other members of the population. It affects both the economy and life in larger or smaller communities. International organizations devote a lot of attention to this issue. The European Union is not an exception. It initiates various actions in order to accomplish set targets for member countries. One of the most prominent was the European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations 2012. Author focuses on the comparison of positions between the two neighboring countries, ie. mainly to set out specific objectives and measures, which would help these goals were fulfilled, all in accordance with the European Union. It reveals not only differences which may be between the Czech Republic and Germany in this regard to find, but also some common elements. Part of this work is the description of the impact of Europeanization, which has recently been talking more and more often in the context of the European integration process.
Starting a family of czech university-educated women in the context of czech family policy

This master thesis "Undergraduates establishing their families in the context of the family policy in the Czech Republic" offers a new view upon a dilemma of college-educated women within the Czech society in establishing their families - it is focused on the parenthood strategy during the university studies. The thesis provides analysis of both positive and negative aspects of the parenthood decision and it investigates what sort of support is given to the undergraduate mothers in the Czech Republic. Measures that could be introduced to the framework of family policy in order to create suitable conditions for the undergraduates establishing their families during the studies are proposed. Subjective views of seven respondents, describing their life as an undergraduate mothers, are included in the analytical part to help approach the undergraduate parenthood strategy development. The key underlaying basis for this thesis is the assumption that undergraduate parenthood could be a suitable life strategy for a number of women undergraduates, should the government support improve.
Role of the state related to private institutions providing care for preschool children

The aim of this thesis is to determine conditions in which are private kindergartens in the Czech Republic founded and kept. What sorts of problem can meet founders of those institutions and how is nowadays situation judged by experts from different areas connected with the topic. A private kindergarten is an alternative to state one and in these days, where is high demand for place in kindergartens, this alternative is widely used. Information obtained from interviews revealed several problem situations. Founders of private kindergartens find the major problem in illogical legislation, mostly in area of hygiene demands. During questioning the author came across some differences in answers, which were connected with interpreting of laws and disunited attitude from state institutions. Interviews with experts revealed reasons for the different attitude when speaking about private kindergartens, which is caused by two factors. Firstly it is a mistake in Czech legislation, when current laws partly obstruct hygiene administration from controlling existing or newly established institutions for collective childcare. Voluntary childlessness in the Czech Republic in the international context

This thesis "Voluntary childlessness in the Czech Republic in the international context" is focused on the phenomenon of voluntary childlessness, that has been increasing in the past twenty years in the Czech Republic and other countries. It is based on relevant sociological theories, particularly theories of individualization and a cultural change and also the value of child theory. It deals with demographical changes and the second demographic transition in the Czech Republic and Europe. On this basis there is built an idea of using information about voluntary childlessness in other countries for the phenomenon in the Czech Republic as well, because it has similar reproductional intentions as in the other countries. The paper explains the term childlessness and defines a voluntary and involuntary choice, with accent to the first type. Shortly it deals with a media reflection and public opinion. To achieve goals of the thesis which are understanding and describing factors and motives of voluntarily childlessness and for creating a model of the factors and motives, a qualitative attitude was used to review the research. An Analysis of implementation of the European Social Fund initiative Equal Opportunities for Women and Men in the Labor Market and Reconciliation of Work and Family Life in the Region Vysočina

The topic of this thesis is the support of Equal Opportunities for women and men in the labor market and to reconcile work and family life, funded by the European Social Fund. The thesis consists of an introduction, a theoretical part, a practical part, a conclusion and appendices. In the theoretical part there are the first introduced policies of the European Social Fund for the period 2007 - 2013 and then their application in the Czech Republic, made up mainly of the Operational Programme Human Resources and Employment and just his area of support 3.4 Equal opportunities for women and men in the labor market and to reconcile work and family life. The issue of equal opportunities for women and men is also used in the context of EU and in the context of labor market in the Czech Republic. Custom research is designed in order to analyze the implementation of the above- mentioned areas of support, specifically in the region Vysočina on the basis of already approved projects, using quantitative and qualitative content analysis. At the request Those projects are discussed both negative and positive gender lens. It is therefore a real form of project applications that are approved and draw on the financial resources of the European Social Fund.
The growing indebtedness of Czech households: a case study of single mothers

The thesis "the growing indebtedness of Czech households: a case study of single mothers" deals with the issue of indebtedness of Czech households with a focus on single mother's debt. This is a topic not too popular, but in this time of increasing household debt is still very topical. The primary objective of this study is to determine what are the causes of indebtedness of single-parent families (single mothers). In addition, determine whether it is appropriate to deal with the problem in general or specifically focusing on a particular group. Finally, the author deals with the topic of social networks, which may or may not have an effect on the debt ratio of the selected groups of people, and also focuses on finding, if enough of the non-profit organizations that can help single mothers complex living situation.
