Pastýříková, Barbora ; Nedvědová, Blanka (advisor) ; Hájková, Eva (referee)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of comprehensibility of lexical units in examples from reading-books for lower secondary school pupils. The work is divided into a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part deals with lexicology and individual concepts that relate to this linguistic discipline and the subject of research. It also includes a discussion of writing style, current research, the concept of teaching the Czech language and the relationship of RVP to teaching vocabulary. The practical research part presents and interprets data obtained from quantitative and qualitative research conducted at two schools. The research was carried out using a questionnaire survey and subsequent interviews with pupils of the 6th and 9th grades of lower secondary school. The questionnaires contained the highlighted lexemes under study in excerpted sentences selected from the reading books intended for the respective classes. The aim of the research was to find out whether the pupils understand the words listed in the questionnaire, whether they can explain them or replace them with synonyms or whether they can derive their meaning from the context of the sentence. In our work, we focused on words that appear in fictional writings and which we evaluated as challenging to explain...
The Use of Stories in the Language Teaching at the Primary School
Benešová, Marie ; Doležalová, Eliška (advisor) ; Hájková, Eva (referee)
The diploma thesis is focused on the use of stories in language teaching in primary school, especially the Czech language. The theoretical part contains basic information about the method of telling stories, storytelling, its possible use in the Czech language and experience with this method in teaching the English language. To work with stories in Czech language classes, the storytelling method is included in the Framework Educational Program for basic education, both in terms of student outcomes and competencies that could be developed in classes using storytelling. The work is devoted to the process of selecting and creating a story, its placement in children's literature and the criteria that should be met for the story to be accepted by pupils. The space is dedicated to the application itself in the teaching unit and to the offer of specific methods and exercises enabling the inclusion of storytelling in teaching. The work deals with the very process of creating a story based on the listed words for the 4th grade, describing the progress of the teaching unit as well as the reaction of the pupils in the lesson, and the preparation of the control test and evaluation. Due to the limited resources regarding the use of storytelling in the teaching of the Czech language, this work could in the...

Pejcharová, Anna ; Hájková, Eva (advisor) ; Chejnová, Pavla (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused on the influence of gender on the stylistic form of the text in the speeches of pedagogues. The aim of the theoretical part is to first define objective and subjective stylistic factors. The following subchapters of the theoretical part then deal with specific factors that influence the resulting speech. Gender differences in speech behavior are discussed in several chapters. The difference between sex and gender is also defined in the theoretical part. The bachelor thesis then focuses on the general characteristics of the corpus and then on the specific SCHOLA2010 corpus. The practical part consists of a qualitative analysis, which aims to map the influence of gender in spoken speeches. The results of this analysis are then compared with the pre-given criteria.
Pragmatics Aspects in Czech Language Textbooks for Elementary Schools
Michelčíková, Viktorie ; Chejnová, Pavla (advisor) ; Hájková, Eva (referee)
The topic of this thesis is communicative competence and pragmatic aspects in Czech language textbooks at elementary schools. Education aims to achieve six key competencies, including communicative competence. The thesis's theoretical part focuses on defining concepts such as pragmatics, gender, politeness, cooperative communication, dialogue, argumentation, and manipulation. In the practical part, the thesis analyses five third-year Czech language textbooks and examines to what extent pragmatic aspects are included in the textbooks. The research has shown that although pragmatic aspects are included in the textbooks, their level is not sufficient in most cases, and it is necessary to supplement these topics with additional supporting materials. The outcome of this work could be useful for Czech language teachers at the first level of primary schools who intend to focus on developing their pupils' communicative competence and improving their pragmatic communication skills. Keywords Argumentation, dialogue, gender, communicative competence, pragmatics, pragmatic aspects, manipulation, textbook, politeness
Syntax as a Critical Part of the Czech Language Education at Upper Primary School
Vyhnánková, Lenka ; Hájková, Eva (advisor) ; Doležalová, Eliška (referee)
The thesis deals with critical points in teaching syntax at the lower secondary level of elementary school. The aim of the thesis is to identify the causes of the teacher's attitude towards syntax as a critical point in the teaching of Czech language at the lower secondary level of elementary school and to determine whether the goal of teaching syntax is fulfilled, which we consider to be the development of students' abilities and skills aimed at improving their language practice. Teacher attitudes are investigated using a questionnaire survey. Based on the findings from this survey, an analysis of entrance exams and a second questionnaire survey are also conducted, which aims to confirm and refine some of the findings from the first questionnaire survey, mainly related to the reduction of syntactic teaching content. The thesis further examines students' attitudes towards syntactic content and analyzes their work from a syntactic perspective. In the theoretical part, we describe theoretical background, comment on critical points in teaching syntax and the syntax system itself, describe the framework educational program, textbooks, and syntactic teaching content for individual grades. In the practical part, we first introduce the research methodology and set the assumptions that are evaluated in the...

Paulová, Johana ; Chejnová, Pavla (advisor) ; Hájková, Eva (referee)
The aim of the research was to map vocabulary across all age groups interviewed and then assess the results, analyse the information found and compare groups against each other. In the theoretical part of this work, I present specific examples of vocabulary layering, further describing its scope as well as the ways in which it can be enriched. The second chapter of the theoretical section describes the development of child's speech at different times of the first years of their life, i.e. from the prenatal period, to the start of compulsory schooling. Furthermore, this chapter lists the various causes of delayed speech development that inhibit or otherwise limit its fluency and their effects on a child's vocabulary. The theoretical part of this thesis is concluded by a list of selected methods for evaluating vocabulary and speech comprehension. The practical part is based on an active and passive vocabulary test. This test was carried out in three age groups - younger kindergarten class, older kindergarten class and a primary school first class, each of ten children. The section testing passive vocabulary consisted of ten themes, each theme containing eight stimulant words. Respondents then assigned these words to images from the image attachment. The active vocabulary section required an...

The specific task was to create a set of didactic games, which is referred to in the main aim of the thesis. The theoretical part is divided into three chapters in which I discuss play, didactic play and the creation and use of didactic play. In the practical part, I created a set of didactic games from which the research unfolded. For the research investigation, I chose qualitative research, using semi-structured interviews with teachers and a questionnaire with 3rd grade primary school pupils as data collection methods. The analyzed data allowed me to answer the predetermined research questions and meet the objectives of the thesis. The research investigation showed that teachers have a positive attitude towards didactic play and realize its value. The pupils of...
