The continuation of pre-trial detention
Fišerová, Veronika ; Heranová, Simona (advisor) ; Mulák, Jiří (referee)
The continuation of pre-trial detention Abstract The rigorous thesis deals with the much-discussed institute of the criminal proceeding, namely the pre-trial detention, especially with regard to its continuation, course. The personal freedom is one of the most important and most often infringed human rights in our environment, unlike other highest important rights (e.g. the right to life, the prohibition of torture, etc.). The pre-trial detention is following the imprisonment the most serious of these interventions, even when there is no final conviction and the principle of the presumption of innocence fully applied. The main issue of the pre-trial detention is a number of conditions that must be met so the person could be taken into the detention and subsequent decision on its further continuation could be made. The whole situation is further complicated by the fact that these conditions are not only contained in the Criminal Procedure Code, but also in the European Convention on Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and especially in the case law of the Constitutional Court and the European Court of Human Rights. The primary goal of this thesis is to state all these conditions in one place, with an emphasis on deciding on the further continuation of the pre-trial detention. The pre-trial detention is...
Determination of the Biologically Active Substances using Liquid Chromatography XIV

The Determination of the Biologically Active Substances using Liquid Chromatography XIV Thesis Veronika Fišerová Charles University Prague Faculty of Pharmacy Hradec Králové Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Drug Control A method has been developed for the determination of the aciclovir by UHPLC in a pharmaceutical preparation containing 5 % of aciclovir with regard to the separation of a related substance, guanine. By using the UHPLC method the time of analysis was shortened. A Thermo Scientific 1,7 µm C18 100A, 100 × 3 mm column was used. A mixture of 90% acetonitrile and a buffer with a pH of 5,5 was chosen as the mobile phase and the analysis was performed by gradient elution. The flow rate of the mobile phase was set at 0,5 ml/min and the column temperature was 40 řC. Detection was carried out at a wavelength of 245 nm. Keywords: UHPLC, aciclovir
Lipschitz functions in analysis of PDEs
Fišerová, Veronika
We consider a steady ow of a homogeneous incompressible nonNewtonian uid. We suppose that the viscosity of the uid depends on the mean normal stress (the pressure) and on the shear rate as this dependence is motivated by many technologically important experiments and studies. We study a system of partial dierential equations that govern such ows of uids subject to the homogeneous Dirichlet (no-slip) boundary condition and establish a global existence of a weak solution under certain specied assumptions on the structure of the viscosity. This is carried out by passing to the limit in the weak solution of a previously introduced approximate system, the existence of which is also shown. The fact that the viscosity is monotone in some sense plays an important role. A decomposition of the pressure and Lipschitz test functions as Lipschitz approximations of Sobolev functions are incorporated in order to obtain almost everywhere convergence of the pressure and the symmetric part of the velocity gradient.
Nutritional profile in patients with bariatric metabolic surgery
Fišerová, Veronika ; Karbanová, Martina (advisor) ; Sadílková, Aneta (referee)
Introduction: Obesity is a major health problem that affects an individual's overall health. Bariatric metabolic surgery is most important and has permanent impact on weight loss in comparison with conservative therapy. The downside is that it often leads to a row nutritional deficiencies requiring long-term supplementation. Object: The aim of the thesis is to map the intake of nutrients in the diet of bariatric patients six months and one year after the procedure. The research is primarily focused on the intake of vitamin D and calcium in diet, vitamin D, parathyroid hormone and calcium levels are also evaluated. Marginally, laboratory values are assessed prior to surgery as deficiencies are known to occur before surgery. Methodology: The research sample consists of 30 respondents who are six months (M6) and one year (Y1) from the procedure. Micronutrients are evaluated from three-day dining records recorded by respondents for at least one week. The research laboratory data was used from the medical information system of the hospital information system. The evaluation parameters for vitamin D-25 (OH)D (limit level was established to > 30 ng/ml). To assess the parathyroid hormone concentration, a minimum limit is set to 1.58 pmol/l, calcium 2.00-2.75 (mmol/l). We were wondering if the profile of...
Constitucional limits of personal freedom
Fišerová, Veronika ; Antoš, Marek (advisor) ; Kindlová, Miluše (referee)
Constitutional limits of personal freedom Abstract The Master's thesis deals with the extensive theme of restriction or deprivation of the personal freedom. The aim of this thesis is not to analyse the reasons for deprivation of personal freedom in detail, but to look at personal freedom as a whole. In the Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms (the Charter), personal freedom is the highest-ranked right to be most often interfered with by the state. Any restriction of personal freedom must meet a number of conditions resulting from legislation, international treaties and the supreme courts' decisions. The main goal of this thesis is to evaluate the frequency and intensity of the deprivation of personal freedom in the Czech Republic. In this thesis I pose the question whether all these limits of permissible deprivation of personal freedom are respected in practice or not. In this thesis I do not deal with the term of imprisonment but I focus on the reasons of deprivation of personal freedom expressly enumerated in the Charter. The first chapter deals with a brief definition of the concept of personal freedom, its incorporation in our legal order and its implementation in international treaties. In the following section, I present the conditions of permissible deprivation of personal freedom resulting...

Role of the past, memory and history in the works of Kazuo Ishiguro
Fišerová, Veronika ; Chalupský, Petr (advisor) ; Ženíšek, Jakub (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to explore the ways Kazuo Ishiguro uses the past, memory and history in his works. They will be described in the context of five novels: A Pale View of Hills, An Artist of the Floating World, The Remains of the Day, When We Were Orphans and Never Let Me Go. The three phenomena are considered Ishiguro's main areas of interest and, therefore, the thesis tries to answer why he is so fascinated with them and whether they serve to convey a particular message. A special attention will be drawn to what seems to be central for Kazuo Ishiguro - going back to his characters' early years and pointing out the key moments that shaped their lives, attitudes and opinions in the future. The focus within the defined field of interest will be on the position of an individual in historical events, themes of guilt, loss, self-deception and regret.
