Social Work with Sexuality of Adults with Intellectual Disabilities in Sheltered Housing

In my diploma thesis I expressed the importance of sexuality for every human bein . Sexual health is part of general health conditions and is a necessary condition of a quality life. Every human has the guaranteed right to enjoy sexuality freely, on condition that no one is constrained. Sexual rights are guaranteed by Bill of Rights, international agreements and also by documents issued by Czech government. I have theoretically described the goals, basic assumptions and educational topics in the area of sexuality of people with mental disabilities. For practical reasons I have included the illustrative tools/techniques for social work with sexuality. I have described the personality of an expert, who is occupied with the sexuality of mentally disabled and ethical rules, to which he/she is obliged to follow. I have tried to compare Czech and foreign scholar literature. I have described the methods of working with sexuality in a concrete Sheltered Housing. As a research method I used the analysis of internal documents, especially Sexual report and recorded interviews. When describing social work with sexuality I have relied mainly on my own experiences. Diploma thesis The Psycho-social Context of Upbringing Children in Lesbian Families is about lesbian parenting. The thesis deals with families in general, next with the phenomenon of homosexuality. It can be found in her chapter on self and identity, social support and the arguments for and against lesbian parenting. This work summarizes the available evidence and it tries to give an objective and comprehensive view on the issue of lesbian parenting. Part of this work is its own research, which completes the theoretical part.

The Diploma thesis "The importance and responsibilities of the Curator for youth in the Capital City of Prague" focuses on explaining of work of curators for youth, his responsibilities and work with institutions, which cooperate with curators. Whole topic is hugely supported by case studies of clients. This work consists of introduction which characterizes the aim of the thesis. Next part contains basic terms and describes activity of the curator for youth. Diploma thesis also focuses on institutions, responsibilities and difficulties of work of curator for youth. Next part is about cases. This part consists of case studies of clients, these case studies are from clients of department of social prevention from curators for youth of Prague 10. Next part is The Discussion, which compares differencies between theory and practise. This Diploma thesis contributes to understanding the work of curators for youth.

The expirience of mentally disabled in the context of transformation of social services

This Masters Thesis "The expirence of mentally disables in the context of transformation of social services" is concerned with the term Mental Disability itself and the suitability of used terms and markings, which relate to this discourse. The thesis contains listing of all possible degrees of mental disabilities and brief characteristic of each, as well as description of individual syndromes. Furthermore it brings recommendations on how to communicate with mentally disabled individuals in the best possible way, with regards to the distinct degrees of their disabilities; it offers numerous possible communication methods in the framework of alternative and augmentative communication. Next point, towards which this thesis is directed, are social services in the context of their essentiality for the mentioned target group. The most important discussed topic is the transformation of social services, which is described from the basic terms, through historic context to current state, which is concerning the Czech Republic in connection to process of transformation changes. Finally, the thesis concludes with investigation focusing on finding the extend of freedom in key spheres of lives clients in specific "Homes" have.

Ethics of social work with people with learning difficulty

Theme of this thesis is Ethics of social work with people with learning difficulty, exactly how is ethics connected with social work with people with learning difficulty. Topic is devoted to long-term and based on my work with these people. The introductory part deals with the definition of several ethical theories, principles which are reflected in social work. Another chapter is devoted to concept of social work with people with learning difficulties and its specifics. In conclusion are given ethical dilemmas in social work and case reports. Case reports describe the various ethical dilemmas of social workers work aimed at people with learning difficulties.

Influence of Religion on the Family Background

The thesis Influence of religion on the family background primarily with the practical implications of three basic beliefs of world religions - Jewish, Christian and Muslim - to a normal family life. Studying the various traditions and customs, practicing belief in everyday life and influence of a particular religion for the whole family. The theoretical part is focused on the requirements of that particular religion has on believers. The practical part describes the general way of life of Jews, Christians and Muslims, describes the specific application of faith in daily life. The research part of the thesis evaluates the questionnaires focused on the differences of attitudes, values and family life of Jews, Christians, Muslims and people with no religion.
