The relationship between physical and strategic plan - case study of Třeboň, Jindřichův Hradec and Dačice
Masojídková, Petra ; Perlín, Radim (advisor) ; Bělohradský, Aleš (referee)
The bachelor thesis focuses on the relationship between physical planning and strategic planning. In the theoretical part, the thesis deals with the development of the municipality and the tools which can be used to achieve it. The thesis identifies physical and strategic plan as the two most important tools of local development. The both documents are briefly characterized, also their aims and differences are discussed. Theoretical models of mutual relations between documents are introduced separately. In the practical part, the bachelor thesis deals with evaluation of the relationship of the physical and strategic plan in three selected towns - Třeboň, Jindřichův Hradec and Dačice. The evaluation is realized by analysing and comparing documents according to determined criteria, which verify the rate of cooperation and general connection of documents. The thesis deals with the priorities determined in both documents, the connection of general content, the process of creation and approval of documents, the time sequence of both documents and the realization of the concrete intentions. The result of the thesis is confirmation of the interconnections of the documents and the determined hypotheses. Keywords: physical plan; strategic plan; development of the municipality; regional development
Local Development and Policies of Protectionism
Bělohradský, Aleš ; Benáček, Vladimír (advisor) ; Želinský, Tomáš (referee)
Economic situation in the Central Europe is to a big extent influenced by the disparities between core regions (mostly the capitals) and the rest. If the gap between cores and peripheries is still widening, local governments of peripheral regions must come up with policies to protect their economies from the globalised world. This basic statement is examined in this work using two different methods: regionalised input-output analysis (for Czech regions) trying to discover structural differences between regions and its implications, and NEG equilibrium simulation method examining agglomeration forces in the Central Europe and evaluating possible outcomes of protective policies in terms of NTBs (limiting the openness). The results confirm the agglomeration tendencies and suggest mainly two ways of effective policies: regional specialisation and investments into infrastructure, which would lower the transaction costs within the peripheral regions. NEG simulation method has serious limits due to the problematic calibration. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Spatial differentiation and determinants of new firm formation in Czechia
Formánková, Martina ; Květoň, Viktor (advisor) ; Bělohradský, Aleš (referee)
1 Abstract This thesis deals with spatial variation in formation of new firms in Czechia. The main objective of this work is to identify spatial differentiation among regions in the years 2010-2016. The object is to evaluate, how far are these differences caused by unemployment rate, share of graduates, establishment size and specialization index. The main research methods are linear and geographically weighted regression. Positive and the strongest influence of share of graduates was identified, mainly in the biggest Czech cities and their surroundings. The influence of unemployment rate and establishment size was rejected. Specialization index has significant influence on new firm formation in all sectors but agriculture. Key words: new firm formation, firm demography, spatial differentiation, geographically weighted regression

Path dependency principle in the context of the transformation of Czechoslovak centrally planned economy
Bělohradský, Aleš ; Mlčoch, Lubomír (advisor) ; Schwarz, Jiří (referee)
This work is focused on the economic phenomenon called path dependency, which basically describes how the current economic performance is influenced by the historical evolution. The objective of the work is to examine this principle in changes of property rights in the specific circumstances of the economic and political transition from the centrally planned economy of the communist Czechoslovakia to the capitalist system in the 1990s. The explanation of the principle and its foundation in the theory of the institutional economics, and especially the evolutionary theory of institutions, takes place in the first part. The second part brings the description of the real socialism with the emphasis on its forms of the ownership and the quasi-ownership respectively. To give more specific illustration of the socialist system, the agricultural sector is chosen to be described more precisely. Hence the stress is put on the description of the cooperatives as the major form of a socialist agricultural enterprise. With this theoretical background and with the empirical findings from two former agricultural cooperatives, the main effects of path dependency are delineated in the third part. Finally, the generalization and evaluation of significance of the principle for the economic analysis conclude the study.
