Báčová, Pavla ; Špaček, Jiří (advisor) ; Štichauer, Pavel (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to compare the occurrence ratio of the preposition proper IN and contracted form NEL, to evaluate the results of the research and to arrive at new uses of prepositions in contemporary Italian. In the first part of my bachelor thesis, I will focus on the theoretical part in which I will summarize and describe individual monosyllable "proper" prepositions and prepositional articles. In the practical part of my thesis, I will examine the ratio of appearance of the prepositions "in" and "nel" and a, con, su (appearing in concurence) on the particular examples, using the online Italian corpus CORIS/CODIS and La Repubblica. Finally, I will evaluate the results of the study.
Italy seen by Czech authors of travel books before the First World War
BÁČOVÁ, Pavla
This thesis is devoted to the topic of representation of Italy in the travel literature by Czech writers in the period before the First World War. The corpus contains the following lyrics: Rome 1906-1907 by Josef Svatopluk Machar, Memories from a journey to Italy by Josef Stejskal and Summer in Italy by Jaroslav Hilbert. In the first part I will introduce and describe historical and cultural development of Italy and also the fact how the Czech lands looked up on Risorgimento. Then I describe the individual authors, their literary works and selected corpus works. I define the circumstances of the origin of the text and find the answer to the question why cited authors focused just on Italy. In the second part I analyse the selected works thematically, I create a synthesis and in conclusion I assess, how in the period before First World War, the Czech society was looking up on Italy.
Dualism in Italy
Báčová, Pavla ; Písař, Pavel (advisor) ; Stočková, Olga (referee)
The main purpose of my bachelor thesis will be to confirm the backwardness of Southern Italy in comparison with the north of Italy by use of macroeconomic indicators which are mainly published by ISTAT and other organizations. Furthermore, I will try to confirm the fact that the backwardness of the south of Italy is largely caused by the influence of Mafia - would Southern Italy be an equal partner of the north or would it possibly be more prosperous in the absence of Mafia? This analysis will be complemented by the actual steps taken by the Italian government and various southern Italian regions carried out to improve the current situation. Further, I will propose my own procedures of how to fight this extraordinary phenomenon or at least, how to find a way to reduce it. In the next part, I shall discuss the progressive development and causes of dualism in the north and south of Italy, by means of which I will, after a more thorough examination, try to sketch an idea of why Italy is, despite being a unified country, continually split into two completely different regions.
