Optical information transmission - transmission security
Kondicz, Dávid ; Čučka, Milan (referee) ; Filka, Miloslav (advisor)
The submitted work deals with issues of optical transmissions and its security. We will become familiar with a variety of transferability of information, based on which we can assess the advantages and disadvantages of each technology as compared to optical information transmission. Based on acquired information we will try to implement interception of optical communication of cable TV provider.

Term paper deals with optics, optical fibers and in particular with optical sensors, which are described in more detail. Furthermore, we introduce a new simulation program from VPI photonics. We will show the user interface and the possibiliti of sumulation in it.
Longitudinal structures in optical fibres with the use in sensorics
Falešník, Vlastimil ; Čučka, Milan (referee) ; Urban, František (advisor)
This semestral work describes key concepts, principles and basic characteristics of optical fibers. Furthermore, the principles of phase mask and subsequent records of perpendicular or tilted structures in fiber are being discussed. The work also introduces the use of such structures in sensorics as well as its connection to Bragg grating. Considerable part of this thesis is dedicated to analysis and production of longitudinal structures in fibers.
Searching of metallic cables using geolocation systems and locator
Flídr, René ; Čučka, Milan (referee) ; Filka, Miloslav (advisor)
Subject of this work is a laboratory excersise, in which student will be going through a training polygon in an FEKT VUT area. Outcome of this work is going to be a mobile application, serving as a navigation and controll tool for students. They will be searching for control points of interests with copper lines under the ground. Then they will get information from theese lines with the help of copper lines searcher. Students should learn methods to search and localize copper lines as well as extracting data from them with the help of geolocalization andcopper lines searcher.
Structures in optical fiber
Polreich, Štěpán ; Čučka, Milan (referee) ; Urban, František (advisor)
This thesis describes the basic concepts, principles and basic characteristics od optical fibers. There are some particular types of structures of optical fibers and their use in practice. The work is also presented technology of these structures. For each of the structures is also described in which field are used, if is area of sensor technology or telecommunication technology. Considerable part is dedicated to special structures that are used especially in sensor technology thanks to its high sensitivity. The thesis describes the design of structures which have been machined by using a femtosecond laser and then states in which area thus treated fibers are used.
Fiber Optics Distributed Systems
Čučka, Milan ; Róka,, Rastislav (referee) ; Vlček, Čestmír (referee) ; Smékal, Zdeněk (advisor)
The dissertation is focused on the research of optical fiber sensors, which are based mainly on interferometric methods. The principle of operation of individual types of sensors is analyzed in the framework of simulation models, using several simulation tools. Furthermore, the possibilities of the coexistence of the sensor system within the planned or existing transmission networks are described. The possibility of accurate vibration measurement, localization of the vibration source and possibly temperature measurement is discussed. The measurements are mainly based on interferometric methods.
Mobile application for the analysis of the basic parameters of NGA network
Musil, Aleš ; Čučka, Milan (referee) ; Grenar, David (advisor)
Bachelor thesis focuses on measurement of quality of service within mobile networks. The thesis explains standards of mobile networks, quality of service, how achieve specified quality and measurement method. Then thesis explains server program for measuring multimedia data and mobile application for operating system Android, which can evaluate and show measured data. In the end there is shown measurement of testing data.
Processing of signals from fiber optic sensors
Sikora, Vojtěch ; Urban, František (referee) ; Čučka, Milan (advisor)
First two chapters of this paper deals with the division of optical fiber sensors, digital signal processing and includes price comparison of four experimental sensors. In chapter three analysis, description and evaluation of measurment has been demonstrated on Mach - Zehnder interferometer. Last chapter is about application for signal analysis from vibration sensors. Description contains snippets from source code and graphical user interface. This paper includes three fields - fiber optics, digital signal processing and creation of application - and thanks to them it provides solid basis for study of optic fiber sensors.
MRI compatible optic fiber thermometer
Stibůrek, Miroslav ; Čučka, Milan (referee) ; Harabiš, Vratislav (advisor)
The following work deals with basics of fiber optics, history of fiber optics, and methods of measuring physical quantities with the use of fiber optic sensors. The work includes facts about physics, chemistry and biology - these elements are necessary for a full understanding of the issue. In order to create an optical fiber temperature sensor based on Fabry Perot resonator principle, several methods of manufacturing the optical cavity are investigated. A practical part of paper consist in the manufacturing of the miniature fiber thermometer, its coating and testing.
Usage of polarization multiplexing in optical access networks
Jakoubek, Petr ; Čučka, Milan (referee) ; Šifta, Radim (advisor)
This thesis reviews polarization multiplexing and its similarities, advantages and disadvantages to other types of multiplexing methods. The basics of optical fibers and its effects on transmission are discussed in terms of commonly used multiplexes. Additionally, divisions of optical access networks and multiplexing methods which could be used simultaneously with polarization multiplexing along with active and passive elements used for high-speed transmission such as polarization multiplex are described. Practical measurements of temperature influence to polarization and signal crosstalk in the amount of 70 °C and -40 °C are also included. The practical and theoretical measurements on 1 Gb signal led in G.652.D fiber for different situations are examined. Measurements containing 1 Gb signal includes test on triple play services (voice, video, data). First practical measurement on 1 Gb transmission shows how white noise, representing analog television, transmitted in the first polarization beam affects the signal in the second polarization beam. Second practical measurements show how two data streams transmitted through a single fiber at the same wavelength, but different polarization beams, creates a full duplex connection between two network elements. Results confirm the possibility on the usage of polarization multiplexing in optical access networks at common temperatures.
