Mechanisms involved in neurodegenerative disorders origin and their consequences in neurobiological interactions.
Červinková, Monika ; Kulišťák, Petr (advisor) ; Šivicová, Gabriela (referee)
Neurodegenerative disorders represent due to their still increasing trend serious problem not only medical, but also socio-economic. The most common disorders in human population include Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease and Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Underlying ethiopathogenetical mechanisms are not closely clarified yet. Potential conjunction between neurodegenerative disorders and stress is mentioned. Supposed relationship between neurodegenerative disorders and stress is based on knowledge of functional interrelationships among nervous, endocrine and immune systems. Animal models are very helpful for research in objective field and they can contribute to the elucidation of involved biological mechanisms. Knowledge of these processes could enable development of new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches in future.

Risk factors for prison service officers
Martinák, Ondřej ; Červinková, Monika (advisor) ; Brousilová, Klára (referee)
This thesis deals with risk factors and potential stressors regarding prison service officers with a primary focus on stress itself, factors of its origin and exact consequences of short-term and long-term stress exposure, which can lead, in extreme cases, to burnout syndrome or post- traumatic stress disorder. Using this information, the thesis identifies potential risk factors in the prison environment, including day-to-day interactions with incarcerated individuals, working hours isolation, social isolation, the problematics of humanisation of the prison environment and the uncertainty of power and leadership. Despite being underestimated in the Czech environment for a long time, it can be expected that these factors have a major impact on the everyday lives of the prison service officers. Due to the fact that this subject is more or less unexplored, the suggested research included in the thesis is aimed at a deeper examination of possible related aspects of these factors as well as improving current knowledge regarding their perception by the prison service officers themselves.
Principles and origin of body oriented psychotherapy
Křičková, Kristýna ; Červinková, Monika (advisor) ; Bosman, Dita (referee)
The literary review part of this thesis focuses on selected body-mind principles that are relevant for body work in psychotherapy, both in the context of body oriented psychotherapy and beyond. Working with the body within psychotherapy is a relatively new approach, but the practices and techniques from which this approach draws and builds upon often have a long tradition. With increasing scientific knowledge, it is now possible to understand much better why and how they work. This thesis illustrates the context and dynamics of the social turn in thought that accompanies the exploration of these mechanisms. The thesis thus presents these basic and supporting principles of body-mind connection in light of the new paradigm of holistic health care and places them in a broader cultural context by highlighting how these principles figure in Eastern traditions, where a different mind-set prevails than in modern Western society. The thesis builds on the literature review by proposing a research project that involves extending the SPECS practical questionnaire to the Czech context. The research aim is to map the awareness of practicing psychotherapists of body-mind principles through reflection on the work with the questionnaire and accompanying qualitative research methods. Keywords body oriented...
