Study of metabolism air pollutants and mutagens 3-nitrobenzanthrone and 2-nitrobenzanthrone
Čechová, Tereza ; Stiborová, Marie (advisor) ; Martínek, Václav (referee)
Nitroaromatic compounds are mutagenic and carcinogenic substances present in environment. Most of nitroaromatic compounds are potent mutagens in bacterial and mammalian systems. They are also carcinogens causing development of tumors, primarily in the liver, lung and mammary glands. 3-Nitrobenzanthrone (3-NBA, 3-nitro-7H-benz [de] anthracene-7-one) is one of the polycyclic aromatic nitro compounds possesing high toxic effects. 3-NBA is an environmental pollutant present in diesel exhaust and was also detected in soil and in rain water. 2-Nitrobenzanthrone (2-NBA, 2-nitro-7H-benz [de] anthracene-7-one) is an isomer 3-NBA, which also occurs as a pollutant in air. Although the 2-NBA is a weakly toxic substance, its high abundance in air could exhibit a high health risk to humans. This thesis investigates the metabolism of 3-NBA and its isomeric derivate, isomer 2 NBA, under anaerobic and aerobic conditions. To study the metabolism of these compounds, microsomal systems isolated from the liver of rats pretreated with Sudanem I, -naphthoflavone, phenobarbital, ethanol and pregnenolon 16-carbonitrile (PCN), the inducers of cytochromes P450 1A, 2B, 2E1 and 3A, were used. We also used mouse models, a control mouse line (wild type WT) and mice with deleted gene of NADPH:CYP reductase in the liver, thus absenting...

139 Legal regulation and selected specifics of the service relationship of members of security forces and professional soldiers Abstract The thesis deals with the legal regulation and selected specifics of the service relationship of members of security forces and professional soldiers. The thesis offers an assessment of the individual legal regulations of the Law on Service Relations and the Law on Professional Soldiers, as well as their comparison. This is especially within the adequate jurisprudence, which in many places reflects the difficulties of applying the statutory amendments in practice. The thesis begins by discussing the very character, features and content of the service relationship. This is followed by a section dealing with the historical development of the legal regulation of the service relationship of members of the security forces and professional soldiers from the establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic to the present day. However, the core of this thesis is an assessment of the current legal regulation of the Law on Service Relations and the Law on Professional Soldiers. The thesis analyses in detail the conditions for the establishment of the service relationship of members of security forces and professional soldiers, as well as selected institutes of changes in the service...
Pressure pain threshold evaluation in relation to the knee joint position - pilot study
Čechová, Tereza ; Čech, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Jevič, Filip (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the relationship between the level of stress of soft tissues and their pressure pain sensitivity. It aims to find out whether the level of tension in soft tissues, given by the position of neighbouring joints, affects the pressure pain threshold. The thesis assumptions were verified on a model situation with the sensitivity of the tissues of the ventral and dorsal sides of the thigh depending on the angular adjustment of the knee joint flexion. The theoretical part deals with the findings about biomechanical properties of soft tissues in relation to mechanical load and in the sense of tensile and compressive forces. It describes the mechanisms of tissue nociceptor activation and afferent signal transmission for processing by neurvous system. It distinguishes between the concepts of nociception and pain and deals with methods of their quantification, especially pressure algometry. A group of 30 (15 men and 15 women) healthy probands of younger adult age participated in the research. The values of the pressure pain threshold were measured for each person with an algometer from the ventral and dorsal side of the thigh with angular settings of 0ř, 45ř and 90ř flexion of the knee joint, with a constant position of the hip joint. The data set's statistical analysis did not show...
Mechanism of cancerogenic effect of nitroaromates pollutants in present environment
Čechová, Tereza ; Stiborová, Marie (advisor) ; Svobodová, Martina (referee)
Nitroaromatic compounds are mutagenic and carcinogenic substances present in all environmental compartments. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons react with nitrogen oxides to form nitroaromatics under the conditions that might be expected in polluted air and in combustion processes (fossil fuel combustion, waste heat recovery, metal processing, etc.). Most of nitroaromatic compounds are potent mutagens in bacterial and mammalian systems. They are also carcinogens causing cancer, primarily in the liver, lungs and mammary glands. Nitrobenzanthrones (NBA) are nitroaromatic compounds which were recently found in environmental compartments, especially in the air. 3-Nitrobenzanthrone (3-NBA, 3-nitro-7H-benz [de] anthracene-7-one) is one of the polycyclic aromatic nitro compounds with high toxic effects. 3-NBA is present in environmental pollution, in diesel exhaust and was also detected in soil and in rain water. Bachelor's thesis describes the metabolism of this substance and it also studies its mutagenic and carcinogenic effects. This work also compares the mutagenic and carcinogenic effects of 3-NBA and its derivative, isomer 2-nitrobenzanthrone (2-NBA, 2-nitro-7H-benz [de] anthracene-7-one), which also occurs as a pollutant in air. One chapter is about a particular tramping settlement in Srbsko called "Valley of Dread". The paper analyzes what builders were chosen by the holiday-makers and also the social characteristics of the holiday-makers. An important chapter is about...
Elementary school education in Czech Republic during new coronavirus epidemic - media framing analysis
Čechová, Tereza ; Němcová Tejkalová, Alice (advisor) ; Čeňková, Jana (referee)
This diploma theses deals with particular example of framing in two Czech online media. The analysis examines how Czech online media covered elementary school education in the Czech Republic during the first wave of coronavirus pandemic in 2020. The theoretical part of this thesis is based on Robert Etman's concept of framing. In the theoretical part, I describe the situation of the Czech education system in March 2020 which was affected by the coronavirus pandemic. I explain the actions taken by the government and the consequences of school closures. The main research question asks what kind of aspects of the affected education system were selected and emphasized by each of the analysed media. The aim of the thesis is to find out what frames each media used and whether there were differences in the approach to the topic between the editors of the two media.
The Effect of Socio-Demographic Factors on Consumer Trends in the Czech Republic
Čechová, Tereza ; Šťastná, Lenka (advisor) ; Kolář, Daniel (referee)
The thesis examines the potential effects of various socio-demographic determinants on consumer trends in the Czech market over the years 2009- 2019. We use data from the agency Median, s.r.o., which has been researching consumer behavior since 1993. This work analyzes dependent categorical variables that define potential consumer trends and represent answers of respondents or households. We utilized an ordinal logistic regression for the analysis, which we subsequently tested by Brant's test. Statistically significant results from the models are similar to the results in previous studies. Specifically, during the years 2009-2019, the interest in recycling increases, people tend to buy organic food more often, and spending on Czech products decreases slightly (especially in 2018 and 2019), and people tend to spend more money on vacation. For example, the bachelor thesis shows that women have a greater tendency to buy organic products and Czech food than men and, at the same time, recycle more often than men. Furthermore, new variables are examined in regards to observed trends. Such variables are the number of persons employed in the household and the ABCDE classification. Overall, the main contributions of this thesis are Czech consumer preferences and trends over eleven years and detailed...
