ZOO DVŮR KRÁLOVÉ - PAVILION OF ENTRY

The main subject of the thesis is the development of the architectural study of the new Zoo entrance pavilion in Dvůr Králové. This Zoo specializes in breeding of African animals. The emphasis is placed on wide program of associated functions, on exhibition and multipurpose premises with restaurants and facilities for the visitors. Prerequisite is usage of progressive and unconventional principles of exhibiting with application of newest technologies in order to inform visitors of the main theme - Africa, before they start the tour around the zoo.

The Gallery of Brno Grand Prix

The main task of this thesis was to create an architectural study of The Gallery of Brno Grand Prix based on previous urban study from previous semester works. The proposal is focused on the iconic circuit’s former glory restoration, on providing new content for raceway complex and creating decent and presentable place for the presentation of the rich history of Czech and Czechoslovak motorsport. The result is a study of an object that meets these needs while respecting the historical and morphological values of the place. The building creates new themed attraction and creates the potential for further development of near circuit.

My thesis is concerned with design of architecture form representing the context of existing site and in the appropriate manner integrating animal expositions to present to public in the most natural way. The purpose of this project was reaching the understanding of demands between animals and visitors. The designed organic form comes from these needs and also tries to be integated with surrounding area.

THE ARCHEOLOGICAL MUSEUM - REBUILDING OF ST.HYPPOLITS AREAL IN ZNOJMO

This thesis presents the use of the uppermost place in Znojmo - Hradište . The objective was to create a center of archeology at the heart of Hradiště with connection to cycling and walking routes , but also attract visitors and revive the whole Znojmo. Archeological museum needs three functions ( research, culture , recreation) that complement each other . The main gist of the division is the fact that cultural are is created by research but used by recreational areas. There are designed three buildings , each of which has a different function. In account is the historic environment and the overall concept of settlement. The area is designed with the aim of developing and transferring nature of philosophy from archeology to architecture. Buildings in the south notionally closed top shape and follows on shape neighboring monastery.Division into two units allow connection of streets Mašovická and Křižovnické . Schematic plan view of the southern part of the site is designed with the recreational areas in shapes inspired by human bone under a microscope. Culture uilding located in the northern part of the site follows the curvature of the final contour . By using complementary cultural remains ( foundations ) Moravian stone church , the highlighted field . Inspiration unit is based on archaeological finds ruins . The building is divided into several unequal masses, each of which performs a specific function . Trying transcript archaeological finds in architecture is also designed in detail. The proportions of wall and grassy areas before entering the cultural building is inspired by the shape and proportions of the graves that were found at the Great Moravian Slavic necropolis .

LABORARTORY BRNO

Subject of project is urban and architectural design of object on Circuit in Brno, at eastern corner of the intersection of the Koliště street and Milady Horákové street. Designed building follows existing structures and reacts on Kpt. Jaroše street. The mass is cut out which creates public space in front of building. Entrance from north leads visitors into central foyer with reception and bar. There is also temporary exhibitions gallery. 2nd to 5th floor is designed for creative workshops, studios and ateliers. Central hall is social and exhibitional place to discuss and communicate and for exhibiton of artworks. In the last floor is elevated space containing great gallery.

LABORARTORY BRNO

Main task of this thesis is to create a gallery of architecture, design and contemporary art in close proximity of Brno ring road - on the edge of the historic city center. My proposal makes available part of the plot for the next townhouse and concentrates mass in a thin, high box, which is well accessible to the public. Showrooms are located on the top floors. Below them I placed block of workshops communicating with the street space. The entrance area leads into an atrium that divides the gallery into two parts. In this area, the interaction of all visitors takes place .

The Gallery of Brno Grand Prix

The main purpose of the diploma project is to redesign an object of the Brno Grand Prix areal. The design case study is a second step after an urban project analyses created in the pre - diploma project phase. The main aim of the diploma design studio is to produce a new impulse in the whole nearby area of the Brno Grand Prix by finding a new purpose for the city's iconic areal and creating a decent and representative place for exhibition of the extensive history of Czechoslovak Motor sport.

Cities, exhibitions and exhibition grounds: how exhibitions affected the cities

Before the end of nineteenth century universal exhibitions, specialised shows and trade fairs became inherent part of both local economy and social and cultural life in Bohemian and Moravian cities. The temporary exhibition grounds where such events were staged from the beginning were gradually replaced by permanent exhibition grounds, and later in the interwar period, major part of the cities in Czechoslovakia either established permanent exhibition venues, or had at least some place reserved for events. Exhibition venues as well as events themselves were affected by the outbreak of WW II and subsequent change of the regime. Their further development in following decades reflected the realities of centrally planned economy and cultural and social life organised and supervised by state authorities. Then the end of the Cold War brought the collapse of planned economy and outset of liberalisation, which often led to rapid changes in the cities and unrestrained transformations of urban structure, exhibition venues included. Future research pertaining the exhibition grounds should cover their historical development and explain how the exhibition grounds and venues can be described and specified in regional spatial plans and other documents. The outcomes of such research should be of importance to heritage care and protection as well. Regarding the interdisciplinary character of the subject, the research is to be carried also in related fields, e.g. art history, economy history, event management, regional studies and the like.
