Jančová, Michaela ; Pokorný, Ladislav (advisor) ; Dlouhý, Martin (referee)
The topic of the thesis is the influence of professional sport on parents of children - future athletes in terms of their expectations and reasons for choosing sport, using ice hockey as an example. The main objective of the thesis is to find out the primary reasons for parents' choice of sport for their children and to find out their expectations of what movement skills and character traits their children will develop in the club. Quantitative research using a questionnaire survey was chosen as the research method. Three hockey clubs across different league levels were involved in the research. The research sample consisted of two groups, one of which was a group of 140 parents of children aged 3-15 years and the other group consisted of 41 youth coaches. The results showed that the main reason for parents to choose a sport for their child was their child's interest in that sport. Furthermore, when analysed in more detail, the results showed in the context of the age group of the children that for parents of pre-school children, seeing their child's professional sport career was more important as a reason for involvement in a hockey club than for parents of older children. In contrast, parents of older school-age children gave more weight to all-round and harmonious development than parents of...

This diploma thesis aimed to evaluate the level of upper limb strength asymmetry between the dominant and non-dominant side and trunk rotation strength in young soccer players, then to compare this relationship with respect to strength performance. The research population consisted of 18 young players in the U16 age group who play soccer at an elite level. Players participated in isometric upper extremity and trunk strength testing. Data collection of isometric upper limb grip strength (Handgrip) parameters was performed using a digital handheld dynamometer (Takei, A5401, Japan). A Humac Norm Cybex isokinetic dynamometer (CSMi, Humac Norm, USA) in isometric mode was used to test trunk strength in rotation. The results of the trunk rotation force values in favor of the dominant side averaged 19.83 ± 3.47 kg. For the non-dominant side, players achieved average results of 19.17 ± 3.33 kg. The T-test results showed that the dominant side of the body achieved significantly higher results in absolute trunk rotation strength with a value of p = 0.035, also in relative strength with a value of p = 0.032. In the Handgrip, the average result value on the dominant side was found to be 41.76 ± 8.63 kg. The non-dominant side achieved a mean grip strength value of 39.68 ± 5.79 kg. Lifestyle of a professional ice hockey player (comparison of views of former and current professional hockey players on sports career and personal life)
MATĚJKA, David
The diploma thesis examines the world of professional ice hockey from the perspective of professional ice hockey players themselves and presents what the lifestyle of a professional ice hockey player looks like. The research also aims to describe the private life, hockey beginnings, approach to studies and ideas about life after hockey. The aim of the thesis is to map the self-reflection of their own career and all the positive and negative circumstances that ice hockey players face during their career and to compare their accounts with those of former ice hockey players and to prove two hypotheses. The first one asks whether it is really a collective sport or an individual competition within a collective, the second one is based on the lifestyle of professional ice hockey players themselves and tries to prove that one's own sporting career can be seen as a life on try-out. The research itself is anchored in the relevant literature and supported by the testimonies of the respondents. The thesis highlights all aspects of professional ice hockey through the eyes of ice hockey players, while also highlighting issues hidden from the public. Thanks to the authentic testimonies of the respondents, the thesis features unconventionally frank confessions of direct actors describing the dark sides that the environment of professional sport offers. Based on the interviews conducted, the author's experience and the literature, a typology of professional ice hockey players was created, in which the theoretical and practical grounding of the research conducted is achieved.

Hejl, Filip ; Štefko, Martin (advisor) ; Morávek, Jakub (referee)
Professional sport and its legislation I choose this topic for its currency and for in my opinion ignored need of solving problems mentioned in the thesis. In scope of this thesis I tried not only to assess legal status of individual and collective professional sportsmen or in other words of performance of their activity on professional level, but I also tried to solve chosen problematic points resulting from the confrontation of professional sport activity and strict provisions of Czech law (in particular Labour Code), by which the performance of sport activity and related legal relations are governed. Thesis is systematically divided into four chapters besides the introduction and conclusion which contains other subchapters. These subchapters specify topics contained in chapters. First chapter is the introduction to the topic devoted to reciprocal relation of sport and law. In this chapter I deal with the term "sport" and its possible definition from the law point of view and its basic organization and division in general.
