Entmophagy - insects as food of the future

This bachelor thesis creates a summary of contemporary czech and the world's entomophagy. It contains knowledge about utilising insect as a source of food for people in a form of literature research. This includes the history as well as contemporary reputation of entomophagy in the eyes of the public. The research part also describes the most notable species of insects utilised for consumtion today including a summary of the basic nutrition data. The following part of this paper studies farming insects distined for consumption and of course, safety concerns coming with consuming insects are also mentioned. In the end of the research part there is a list of several examples of different dishes made from insect. In the practical part of this paper a questionnaire was created with the goal of mapping a describing the czech public's awareness of insect consumption the possibilities of its spreading. This questionnaire was realised particularly electronic (over the internet), additionally by personal questioning with the purpose of covering bigger variety of answers, especially to get answers from different age groups of the respondents. The recieved answers were analysed and the results were processed into graphs for easier reading.
Vegetariánství - cesta k řešení potravinové krize?

The thesis focuses on the vegetarianism and its potential to solve the food crisis in the world. Hypothesis was formulated and states that vegetarianism is a way to resolve this crisis. SWOT analysis method was used to evaluate strengths, weaknesses, oppor-tunities and risks of vegetarianism in term of economic, environmental and ethical aspects. The results show that vegetarianism is the way to solve the food crisis, but only on the theoretical level, because there are many factors and barriers which does not al-low the implementation of this solution in the full extent.
Foods Crisis and Fair Trade

This bachelor's thesis deals with the problem of global food crisis, its causes and development assistance. It should issue a simple way to explain and clarify the principles and programs which are used to address and reduce this situation. One part of the thesis is devoted to the Millennium Development Goals and their contents and various organizations that deal with problems associated with food insufficiency. The paper also focuses on Fair Trade -- it tries to effectively solve problems arising from food insufficiency. It is mainly practical assistance to which not only individuals but entire organisations, corporations and multinational companies are envolved.
Analysis of the Food Crisis: Causes, Consequences and Solutions

The thesis brings a comprehensive analysis of the food crisis of recent years. There was a dramatic increase in staple food prices in 2007-2008 and 2010-2011 which combined with persistent poverty is a serious problem for many millions of people. The objective of the thesis is to analyze the causes of this phenomenon. There are also examined socio-economic effects of rising global food prices on the quality of life in developing countries. In this sense, research is carried out whether the appropriate means helped to solve the food crisis and there are also suggested other options to address the current situation in order to reduce hunger and undernutrition in the world and avoid other people fall into poverty. Research is conducted using the method of observation, causal analysis and synthesis.
European Policy Concerning Safety of Foods

The theme of the bachelor thesis is the European policy concerning safety of foods. Its objective is to evaluate the importance of the food safety assurance for the European market and European consumers. The first part briefly summarizes the most important moments of history {--} from food sufficiency assurance for everyone to creation of elaborate system named {\clqq}from the Farm to the Fork`` which includes whole food and feed chain. This part also defines essential notions associated with given theme. Next parts involve food legislation and establishements which create legal enactments and control if these enactments are respected. The last section deals with the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed and the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points. Both of these systems are fundamental for assuring the consumers safety. The thesis faciliates to create the idea of current system complexity for food safety assurance.
Reasons why there was a food crisis in 2007 and 2008

This diploma thesis "Reasons why there was a food crisis in 2007 and 2008" summarizes and analyzes to what extent contributed particular factors to food crises all around the world in 2007 and 2008. Media and some well known international organizations believed that the main factors that caused last food crises were bio-fuels and significantly increased demand from China and India. This diploma thesis summarizes all main factors and comes to conclusion that the main factor that should be eliminated as soon as possoble is the problem with global climatic changes. Several international organizations have discussed this issue on international and global level for several years so let us hope we will not only discuss but we will do some active and concrete steps to solve this global problem. Of course the other factors need to be eliminated or at least moderated in the future as well. None of the crises occurs because of some concrete factor. It is always set of reasons that have caused some global problem.
Food crisis in the ACP group of states in the early 21th century

We are at the crossroads of the most serious global financial, energetic and food crisis in modern history. In following bachelor thesis we have closely focused on food crisis in particular on the period of years 2006-2008. The primary goal of the thesis is to sum up and analyse possible reasons of current food crisis. Rapid increase in food prices hit worst the poor and vulnerable groups of people all over the world. Therefore in the centre of our attention are countries of Africa, Caribic and Pacific and consideration of impacts of food crisis on them. Part of this paper are also possible solutions while cooperating with developed contries. As partner for collaboration by diminishing impacts of food crisis and building food security in developing countries have been chosen the European union because of its longlasting relations with ACP group of states.
Food crisis at the beginnig of the 21. century: causes and impacts on world economy

The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to explain causes and impacts of global food crisis in last years. The crisis is taken as the increase in prices of food commodities. In particular chapters I'm dealing with the factors which have caused the growth in food area as well as with their economic and social impacts. A part of the thesis is also a look on the impacts of the food crisis in different regions of the world. Included are also chapters about international organizations helping countries facing problems related to food crisis. In conclusion I have sketched some possible solutions that could help to slow down the phenomenon of increasing prices.
