Pollution entering the Moravian Karst via surface streams
Vaculíková, Klára ; Tůma, RNDr Antonín (referee) ; Malá, Jitka (advisor)
The Diploma Thesis deals with the water pollution entering the Protected Landscape Area Moravian Karst via surface streams. In order to quantify the extent of the pollution surface streams entering the Moravian Karst were selected. A survey of a region of interest was done. Actual volume flow rate, measurements of physicochemical parameters, water samplings, laboratory analyses of samples were done monthly from April to November 2019. Conductivity, pH, temperature, oxidation-reduction potential, concentration of dissolved oxygen, and oxygen saturation were measured in situ. Afterwards, COD, BOD, phosphate, total phosphorus, ammonia, nitrites, nitrates and Kjeldahl nitrogen were determined in the laboratory. Organic nitrogen and total nitrogen were also calculated. The results were evaluated with a respect of Government Decree No. 401/2015 Coll. Material flows were calculated for selected parameters and used as other criterion that evaluate the water pollution of monitoring surface streams. Areas out of the PLA needing an enhanced protection of watercourses were proposed based on quantified pollution. Cooperation with two primary schools in the Moravian Karst supported the research. Pupils and their teachers were trained, and they measured phosphate in surface streams from April to November 2019. The website related to phosphorus in surface water were created and results of phosphate measurement were uploaded there.

Towards Open Science: challenges and way forward for European universities
Finance, Jean-Pierre
Professor Jean-Pierre Finance, Chair of the EUA Science2.0/Open Science Expert Group, will explain EUA approach towards Open Science by bringing together first-hand information and experience from three main areas: 1) Open Access policies (universities through EUA’s survey on Open Science - data from 500 universities; research councils – through Plan S); 2) financial aspects, through its survey on "Big Deals" (data from 31 National Consortia) and Publish&Read Project; 3) research assessment for research careers (briefing). EUA implements its Roadmaps on Open Access (2016) and on Research Assessment (2018) in close collaboration with its ad-hoc groups: Expert Group on Science 2.0/Open Science, the High-Level Group on Big Deals and the Negotiators Group. EUA develops strategic positions, surveys and workshops which are becoming a reference for universities and in the framework of the EC Open Science Policy Platform (OSPP).

Out of Scope? Open science monitoring and grey literature
Schöpfel, Joachim ; Prost, Hélène
The paper will assess if and how the EU and the French Open Science Monitors provide qualitative and quantitative data on grey literature such as conference papers, theses and dissertations, reports, working papers or preprints. How is grey literature included in their data sources, in the methodology and indicators, in published surveys and case studies? The authors will contact the Monitor project teams to learn more about their future projects and if they intend to give more importance to the non-commercial part of academic communication.

Open Science - scientific (r)evolution
Simandlová, Tereza ; Souček, Jiří (advisor) ; Rygelová, Pavla (referee)
The thesis deals with openness in the scientific practice and discusses in detail the concept of open science. Apart from theoretical part dedicated to description of science, traditional model of scholarly communication, and initial ideas of openness, thesis summarizes the approaches of particular open science schools of thought and introduces specific tools, initiatives and methods enabling the idea of openness to become reality. Practical part of thesis focuses on description of current state of open science in the Czech Republic and by using the Future wheel prognostic method offers visualization of the future development in science and society, further specifies possible consequences of implementing the concept of open science into practice and defines opportunities and risks of the second scientific revolution.
ELAG 2013
Kolátor, Jan ; Janíček, Milan ; Mareček, Daniel ; Svoboda, Martin
Konference ELAG 2013 (http://elag2013.org/) se konala 27. - 31. 5. 2013 v Ghentu v Belgii. Pořádajícími institucemi byly Ghent University Library a Ghent University Faculty Library Arts & Philosophy.

Here is the public, so open the science!
