Decoration of the Hall of Battles in the monastery El Escorial

The bachelor thesis focuses on the decoration of the Hall of battles in the Spanish monastery El Escorial, which was built in 1563-1584 by the Spanish king Philip II. The first part is devoted to the description of the monastery and its individual parts, The second chapter will be devoted to the Italian artists from Genoa who were commissioned to decorate the Hall of Battles (Nicola Granello, Orazio Cambiaso, Fabrizio Castello and Lazzaro Tavarone). The main part of this thesis will be a chapter devoted to the description of the paintings in the gallery of battles that depict the four victorious battles of Spain and a description of the vault with grotesque decoration.

Author's diary and its use in art education

This bachelor's thesis focuses on the author's diary and its use in art education while simultaneously dealing with the phenomenon of the diary in the context of art concerning pedagogical practice. The first part provides a general theoretical foundation regarding the characteristics and historical development of the diary alongside a reference to literary works, the issues surrounding the author's diary and an overview of well-known visual artists who have used such diaries in their work. The thesis also gives examples of diary-themed exhibitions. Visual artists who employ some of the characteristics of diary entries in their work are listed to understand the diversity of diaries. The text also addresses why drawing is the primary medium of these narratives and the significance of the engagement with diary work. In the practical part, the author has implemented diary principles in her project, producing four large-scale drawings made for four consecutive months. Each day's observations and thoughts were recorded on a sheet of paper. Said paper thus became a specific visual record of experiences reflecting the period in which they were created. Drawings Filippino Lippi's for the frescoes in the chapel Strozzi and Carafa

The Barchelor thesis "Drawings Filippino Lippi's for the frescoes in the chapel Strozzi and Carafa" is devoted to the Italian Renaissance painter and draftsman Filippino Lippi. Mainly his drawings for the frescoes in the Strozzi and Carafa Chapels. After the basic informations about his life and work, with summary of his basic work, Lippi is treated as draftsman. There is captured his workshop experience as well as several important drawings, which he made. The main part of this thesis discusses the frescoes in the Strozzi Chapel in the Florentine church Santa Maria Novella and in the Carafa Chapel in the Roman church Santa Maria sopra Minerva and about extant and so far assigned drawings for these Filippino Lippi's frescoes. There is also mentioned several drawings, which is reltated to these wall painting and they were made by the other artists. In the conclusion of this thesis there is attached a catalogue of Lippi's preparation drawings for these frescoes.

Výstava Dělník je smrtelný, práce je živá, kterou připravila Renata Skřebská, kurátorka Galerie výtvarného umění v Ostravě (GVUO), představuje dosud nezpracované téma práce ve výtvarném umění od počátku 20. století do současnosti. Zastoupeni jsou nejen autoři již etablovaní, jako například Jan Zrzavý, Otto Gutfreund, Bohumil Kubišta, Adriena Šimotová nebo Stanislav Kolíbal, ale i střední a nejmladší generace, například Zbyněk Sedlecký (1976), Václav Buchtelík (1990) či Filip Nádvorník (1995). Výstava bude zahájena v úterý 22. září v 17 hodin. V ostravském Domě umění bude k vidění do 3. ledna 2021. Výstava byla prodloužena do 21. února 2021.

Drawings from the collection of František Jureček
Galerie výtvarného umění v Ostravě
Ostravský stavitel František Jureček (1868–1925) byl sběratelem umění a aktivním zastáncem výstavby Domu umění. Jeho slavnostního otevření 13. 5. 1926 se bohužel nedožil. Pár měsíců před svou smrtí věnoval Spolku Domu umění svou uměleckou sbírku, která zahrnovala 122 položek. Mimo olejomaleb, datovaných od 18. až do 20. století, a 2 sochařských děl, se zde nacházely kresby české provenience převážně z 19. století. Komorní výstava se koná v Kabinetu grafiky.

Komorní výstava v Kabinetu grafiky představuje 8 kreseb, 2 malby malíře Václava Brožíka ze sbírek GVUO a 2 zmenšené reprodukce maleb z cizích sbírek. Václav Brožík (1851–1901) patří k nejvýznamnějším osobnostem Generace Národního divadla.
