Mančuška, Korpaczewski, Kovanda… You will see the elite of contemporary art in Ostrava

What can a joint sports championship and art gallery have? Exhibition! At the initiative of the IAAF Continental Cup at the Ostrava 2018 athletics, the art project Kdo je vítězem, which was prepared by Curator Yvon Ferencová, was created at the Gallery of Fine Arts in Ostrava. The exhibition project, which presents 26 well-known contemporary artists, does not want to introduce artworks primarily depicting sporting competitions; on the contrary, it offers space to different genres and media, and invites associations to other areas as well. Císařovský, Korpaczewski, Nikitin, Kovanda, Mančuška, Šerý or Vaněk ... An unconventional exhibition will be on display in the Art House in Ostrava from June 20 to September 9.

V publikaci jsou zveřejněny vybrané údaje ze statistického zjišťování za uplynulý rok. Předmětem zjišťování jsou činnost divadel a hudebních souborů a aktivity profesionálního výtvarného umění a architektury. Mezi nejvýznamnější šetřené ukazatele patří údaje o počtu zaměstnanců, zřizovaných souborů, provozovaných scén a sálů, odehraných představení, návštěvníků, oborů a žánrů, počtu koncertů a počtu hudebních nahrávek.

abART, National Library of the Czech Republic (NK), VIAF and Earthquake

The Archive of Fine Art operates its own information system – abART, a comprehensive database of Czech and Slovak art that is based on data atomization and link data principles. It distinguishes two hundred document types, some of them belong to grey literature (press releases, theses, bibliographies, handouts, etc.). Moreover, AbART can define also any other events. For the processing of remote areas such as earthquakes, it would be necessary to create a broad information base, inserting elements to identify records in the National Library (NK). But what about 46,746 people not listed by the NK?
