Topographic model of the archeological site Stradonice based on UAV LiDAR point cloud
Prýmek, Jan ; Potůčková, Markéta (advisor) ; Hodač, Jindřich (referee)
The bachelor thesis is focused on the creation of a topographic model of the burial mound near Stradonice. The aim of the work was to filter LiDAR point clouds acquired from an UAV and aircraft platforms over the forested terrain of the area of interest, to analyze them in terms of point density corresponding to the relief and vegetation, to compare visual and automated detection of archaeological objects and to verify the results by field survey. The theoretical part describes the principle of laser scanning, its use in archaeology and the application of automated detection approaches to archaeological objects. Furthermore, the development of barrow burials from the Eneolithic to the Middle Ages is outlined and the area of interest is described in detail. The mound burial site at Stradonice is divided into two parts located not far from each other, which are probably not very closely related. In one part there are both rectangular barrows placed in rows and circular ones which occur irregularly around them as if they were of a different age. In the other part, there are only mounds with a circular plan, and some of them are arranged regularly. In the practical part, three sets of point clouds were processed, two of their own from UAVs and one from an aircraft provided by the ČÚZK. Vegetation was...

Memory and history of Palliardi family - two concepts of studying the family's past
Pulcová, Kateřina ; Altová, Blanka (advisor) ; Pešek, Jiří (referee)
In this thesis, I focus on the Palliardi family of Italian origin and their activities in the Czech lands using the methodological approaches of historiography and memory studies. Descendants of the Palliardi family still live in the Czech Republic today and some of its members, including myself, are interested in the family history, keeping it in mind and searching for traces of it in the historical sources of family members who worked as plasterers on important buildings of the Czech Baroque period in the 17th and 18th centuries. The family memory does not go back to the time when the first Palliardi came to Bohemia, but based on the historical findings so far, it is assumed that this happened after the Thirty Years' War. The first documented Palliardi in Bohemia was Giovanni Pietro, a plasterer originally from the Lago di Como area, who is mentioned as a burgher of Prague's Lesser Town from 1680 and the ancestor of five generations (until 1870) of this Lesser Town family who were engaged in the profession of plastering or building. Ignác Jan Nepomuk (May 15, 1737 - March 18, 1821) and his son Ignác Alois (1765 - August 10, 1806) became figures of the family memory and important historical personalities of the history of Baroque and Classicist architecture. The last builder of the Palliardi...

Vnoučková, Darina ; Štefan, Ivo (advisor) ; Klír, Tomáš (referee)
This Bachelor's thesis is about relationship between Early- to High Middle Ages settlements and Romanesque and Gothic churches located in the Czech county Benešov. It is also focused on roads and their Early- to High Middle Ages placement that had an impact on the settlement of this region. Pivotal part of this thesis consists of two catalogues: the Catalogue of Archeological Sites and the Catalogue of Churches. The first catalogue provides a summary of all discovered archeological sites with findings from Early Middle Ages to early phase of High Middle Ages. They are supplemented with archeological sites which are located outside of the demarcated area, but are simultaneously closely related to the settlement of the region. Data from the Catalogue of Churches were used to creation of maps which are depicting the settlement of the region in different time periods. The whole picture is completed with evidence from written sources that are closely related to ruler's, catholic church's, early nobility's and later noble families' possession of properties. The second catalogue contains detailed description of all discovered (and assumed) churches from Romanesque and Gothic periods. Information from the catalogue are visualized in maps that picture their construction in different eras. Due to frequent...
Titian, classical mythology and Ovid
Vorlová, Magdalena ; Konečný, Lubomír (advisor) ; Bažant, Jan (referee)
The thesis examines the classical motifs in the works of Titian. The author focuses on a closed set of works inspired by classical motifs (i.e. motifs of classical mythology), which were created for the Spanish king Philippe II. The thesis deals with the question of possible literary or material sources which could have been at the painter's disposal or could have served as his inspiration. The set of works is defined by themes chosen from Ovid's Metamorphoses. The question is whether Titian based his compositions on their classical version or on a Renaissance adapted or commented translation, or whether he even inspired himself by other classical authors.
