Representation of the world by children´s eyes

This bachelor thesis focuses on examination of the representation of the world through child's point of view and of its narrative techniques. It deals mainly, but not exclusively, with the work of Czech authors who wrote in the first half of the 20th century. The thesis aims concretely Egon Hostovsky's novel Černá tlupa, Olga Barényi's Janka, and at last but not least, Karel Poláček's novel Bylo nás pět. This bachelor thesis is not orientated only on theoretical part based on narrative techniques but it also deals with historical and cultural context of the time when particular literary work was created.
Narrative Method in Olga Barényi´s Novel Janka

This bachelor thesis deals with narrative strategy in the first Czech Olga Barényi´s novel. Janka, the novel from the early 40´s of the 20th century is still ignored by literary public. This work is trying to change this attitude and to demonstrate why this novel can be attractive for the readers. The aim is to make a detailed analysis of the novel, using mainly narrative methodology and to study which means the author uses in the story and if they are unusual or regularly used in the context of Czech period prose.
