The evolution of the relationship between child and volunteer in Program Five P
NOHEJLOVÁ, Pavla
The issue of the child {--} volunteer relation development in the Five Ps Programme is a really sensitive one. No research dealing with the child {--} volunteer relation development has been performed yet in the Czech Republic. The child {--} volunteer relation development research is based on mapping changes within the eight dimensions of a relation as per Hinde´s theory (1988). The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the Five Ps programme itself, its brief history, handicaps and benefits. The theoretical part also deals with relations in general and the relation child {--} volunteer in the Five P programme and its development. The thesis is aimed at mapping the child {--} volunteer relation development in the Five Ps programme upon changes in the above eight relation dimensions. The practical part employed the questioning method, the technique of structured interview with open questions, the method of participant observation and document analyses. The research sample consisted of 15 respondents (5 volunteers, 5 children, 5 legitimate representatives of the children). The survey was performed at the regional Five P Programme Centre in Písek. The results of the work consist of analyses of interview with the volunteers, children and legitimate representatives after three months and after ten months of a relation, then observation of each couple during common activities, analyses of supervision records and meeting minutes. Two hypotheses arose from the results. The first is: The child {--} volunteer relation in the Five P programme develops in eight dimensions as per Hinde´s theory (1988). The other hypothesis is: Each child {--} volunteer relation in the Five Ps programme develops differently. The thesis also includes practical recommendations, particularly to beginning Five Ps coordinators. These recommendations present examples of questions by which changes in the individual relationship dimensions may be monitored and the relationship development better observed. The thesis may be useful either for beginning coordinators in the Five Ps programme or for those having longer experience in coordinating the couples in the programme.
The experience of children with diagnosis and control of pain during hospitalization on children's wards
ZELLEROVÁ, Kateřina
The diploma thesis entitled "Experience of children in assessment and treatment of pain in hospitalization at children's departments" deals with the topic of children's pain and its treatment. The issue is the main topic of the theoretical and practical part of the thesis and both of them focus on children at their pre-school and school age. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the current state of the issue, the psychology of a child at the pre-school and school age and also pain as such and its specifics in children. It is obvious that pain of a child is different not only in diagnostics and treatment. A child reacts differently also in experiencing pain, and also fables are often among people regarding pain that persist even these days. It is important to realize that a child is not a smaller adult, and that is why care for a child must be different. At the same time a child has to be taken as an integral human being who experiences pain and it always has to be assessed objectively according to scales and other objective methods selected according to the child's age. In this area, a big problem can be fables about children's pain that persist even in the current population. The research part of the thesis is aimed at interviews with children hospitalized at children's departments regarding their pain and also interviews with nurses. It compares information obtained from both groups of respondents and it looks for answers to questions of experiencing pain by a child, assessment by a nurse and treatment. It is apparent from the results of the research that children perceived differences in assessment and treatment of pain at home and in hospital, particularly in the change of the person that have to approach, and also in using non-pharmacological methods that are used more by mothers at home. This regards frequency and the way of pain assessment; children are not aware of regularity of assessment, they do not know the scales that the nurses mentioned as those that are used most often. Treatment of pain in hospitals is mostly pharmacological. But children do not always get the information about effect of a drug when it is administered to them. At the same time this part of the thesis looks for the possibilities and the need to create a standard for assessment and treatment of pain in children as well as the most important parts that the standards should contain. In this connection, a draft of the standard for nursing care of a child in pain was created within the thesis which makes up an appendix hereof.
The problems of pathological behaviour in children and adolescents from the point of view of social workers
BARTOŠOVÁ, Lenka
The issue of pathological behaviour of children and adolescents is a rather delicate recent topic. Thus, I set two objectives for my thesis. The first objective was to survey the most frequent type of pathological behaviour of children and adolescents from social workers´ point of view. The other, partial objective was focused on causes of the pathological behaviour. The theoretical part of the paper deals with the terms such as, a child, an adolescent and a social worker. Social workers are here divided into several groups. There are welfare officers for children and adolescents, probation officers and parole officers, anti-drug coordinators, counsellors for the Romany issues and social workers there. Further, the paper closely describes the issue of pathological behaviour and its types. Causes of the pathological behaviour, its treatment and prevention of the pathological behaviour of children and adolescents are mentioned here as well. Qualitative research, a technique of a half-standardized interview with social workers were applied to obtain essential information for the thesis. Six social workers were polled in total. The interviews took place in November and December in 2009. The research results show that the most frequent types of pathological behaviour of children and adolescents are, according to social workers, thefts and truancy. The results also show that the most frequent causes of pathological behaviour of children and adolescents are bad family environment and influence of a gang. The results of the thesis reflect present situation in the field of pathological phenomena and are a valuable source of information about prevention and treatment. They can also become basis for further research and next studies in this field. Furthermore, the results might be suitable as study material within the tuition of this issue.

INTERFERENCE POSSIBILITIES OF HABITAT OF CARIES IN CHILDHOOD IN BLANSKO
VAŠÍČKOVÁ, Pavlína
The tooth decay is the most widespread disease. The preschool and school age is important period for the tooth decay prevention. The nutrition of children is one of the most important part in interference occurrence of the tooth decay, dental care is also necessary by using chemical and mechanical agents. It is very important for choldren to know the caries prevention. There was found by this research that the nutrition of children do not correspond to the caries prevention, the good and quality nutrition is not given enough for them. The older group is in the worse position. Using the tooth paste and fluorine, the sufficient period of cleaning one's teeth, chewing gum etc. can be positive valued in the problem of the dental care related to the chemical and mechanical agents. But other results of this research in this area show that the dental care is not fully contitioned. The children are not informed enough about the caries prevention related to the nutrition. The parents' and stomatologist' concern in giving the children the information about the dentition is positive, but the role of school is very small and the pediatrists do not give any information. It is necessary to improve the active children attitude and increase the responsibility of the parents, teachers, headmasters, stomatologists, pediatrists and news media. The sense of my work consists in gaining the information about the nutrition of children, dental care and their knowing of the caries prevention.

MILNAŘÍKOVÁ, Jitka
This bachelor work deals with the specifities of criminal justice for children under fifteen in the Czech Republic, it defines basic terms, sketches the history of criminal justice for juveniles as a separated system in the USA and Europe (especially in CR) and also outlines some related legislation. It maps the process and circumstances of legal proceedings, the possibilities and sense of criminal sanctions for child delinquents. It documents the development of juvenile delinquency in CR between 2000 and 2008 and it presents evidence that the number of criminal acts commited by children under fifteen is decreasing. In the centre of attention there is also an issue of the formation of criminal liability and discussion about the decrease of its bottom line regarding all arguments of both proponents and opponents. The results of the research and public inquiry illustrate that Czech public is rather for its decreasing. The work also outlines the operation of some organisations, present and planned institutions for working with risky juveniles. It also compares the position of juvenile delinquents in some countries of Europe and North America.
