IMPACT OF WORKLOAD ON THE MENTAL STATE OF THE POLICEMEN IN SPECIAL FORCES
HOŠKOVÁ, Šárka
The thesis deals with the workload influence on the mental status of police officers in elite formations. I have focused specifically on the Rapid Deployment Unit and the Unit for the Protection of Constitutional Officials. I have been interested not only in the workload and its effects on the psyche but as well on differences between these two elite formations. Their job may appear to be pretty similar from a layman?s perspective but there are more differences between them than it seems at first glance. The purpose of this thesis is to map the workload influence and psychological burden of these two special units. My next objective is to identify the extent of stress prevention and workload compensation in terms of comprehensive health promotion within the two elite formations. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part introduces the organization and activities of both departments while defining some basic terms - stress, coping with stress and the consequences of stress such as burnout syndrome or post traumatic syndrome. The empirical part presents the methodology and organization of the research investigation which has been performed by the quantitative method of questionnaire surveys. This part will also offer an evaluation of the data and assumptions arising from the objectives along with my recommendations for practice.

KOZÁK, Jaroslav
The thesis deals with the description of the psychological and spiritual support for the members of the police force. Its basis is the definition of the police force as the service to the public while the policeman is perceived as both the representative of the state force and the human being. In the part dealing with the professional ethics one points out to the usefulness of the ethical codex for a policeman as a possible inspiration for one's responsibility in the role of a policeman.Next, negative phenomena influencing a policeman are described, such as stress, a traumatic event, crisis, and a burn-out syndrom. The thesis considers the needs of the man linked to the needs of a policeman proper. Based on the information collected it then deals with the psychological and spiritual support. The psychological support in the police force has got a certain framework defined in the form of a crisis intervention, a psychological advisory service and a posttraumatic intervention care. A spiritual support has no specific concept defined. A priest has his role in posttraumatic intervention teams only. Options of managing the stress situations during mass accidents
ŠEVČÍK, Radek
All of us face stress every day. The manner we are able to handle stress affects our behaviour, health and success in completing the tasks brought to us by our lives. The level of stress is immense in the mass accidents and the demands to handle such stress high. Therefore, it is beneficial to have certain awareness about the impact of stress; to know how stress affects us, what it make provoke in us and to know, as well, how to manage it efficiently. This kind of stress awareness should be very high mainly in the case of people who intervene at the very place of an accident tragedy. My bachelor thesis was prepared in the quantitative manner using questionnaires. The research sample was formed by selected employees of the accident flying squads of Salvage and Rescue Service (``SRS{\crqq}) of the South-Bohemian and South-Moravian regions. The main aim of my thesis was to determine whether there is a targeted preparation of the SRS employees for stress situations. I have set two hypotheses in respect of the research. Hypothesis No. 1, ``Employees of accident flying squads of the SRS practicing for more than 5 years are more informed on the stress issues during mass accidents{\crqq}, was confirmed. Hypothesis No. 2, ``Employees of accident flying squads of the SRS were trained specifically for stress situations during the mass accidents{\crqq}, was not confirmed. In my research, I found that 61.5% of the employees questioned did not pass any specific training for stress resistance. My bachelor thesis should serve as an impulse for the creation of a specific training for the employees of accident flying squads of the SRS and also as a potential ground to enhance the training in the given field within the study program of ``Health Rescuer{\crqq}.
