Application of rapid prototyping technology in the investment casting technology
Čejka, Libor ; Mikulka, Vít (referee) ; Kosour, Vojtěch (advisor)
To accelerate the production of prototype castings, it is necessary to shorten the time required for the production of investment casting, allowing just the Rapid Prototyping technology. This technology is being developed for several decades, but the application of the method of lost wax model is completely normal. Task of the thesis is to develop a literature search possibilities of mapping technology in Rapid Prototyping technology foundry investment casting wax model.
Expert systems
Veselovský, Michal ; Konečný, Pavel (referee) ; Dvořák, Jiří (advisor)
Expert systems (ES) are commercially one of the most succesfull use of artificial intelligence (AI) - since eighties of the 20th century. They are often used in medicine, industry, science, trade, banking etc. Expert system is a software using knowledge of human experts for solving very complicated tasks and problems, which would otherwise require participating or consultation of one or more specialists on these issues. This software simulates decision-making of human expert in solving complicated tasks, and tries to reach the most probable result, ideally same as the expert´s opinion. Typical feature of expert systems, differencing it from usual software, is separating of decision making engine (inference engine) and knowledge base – same expert system with different knowledge base may serve for different purposes. This feature is used for creating empty expert systems – shells. Other features, which may not occur at all ES, are ability to make decision with uncertainty, and ability to explain the decision. Goal of this work is to describe basic principles of ES, using freely available information sources, and then describe and analyze resources for creating of these systems, using mainly information from official web sites.
Působení nadnárodní společnosti Shell v deltě Nigeru
Kačínová, Lucie
This bachelor thesis is focused on activities of multinational company Shell in Nigeria. The first part deals with the characteristics of multinational companies, their activities in development countries, criticism of multinational companies and the concept of social responsibility. It also describes the socio-economic situation in Nigeria and activities of Shell company. The second part focuses on the description of the situation in the Niger delta, especially the positive and negative impacts of the local activities of Shell company.
Multinational corporations and their influence in developing countries
Veščičíková, Simona
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of multinational corporations and their impacts on developing countries. The primary objective is to assess, how activities of multinational corporations influence developing countries in the economic, environmental, political and social areas. One of the major findings of this that is a fact, that negative influences of MNCs in developing countries are gradually reducing. First part of this thesis is focused on the general characteristics of MNCs including its structure, position in the world economy and formation and evolution over time. Further are analyzed developing countries and the principal issues they encounter. The second part of this thesis will demonstrate the previously discussed issues on three specific case studies - Royal Dutch Shell in Nigeria, Nike in Indonesia and Coca-Cola in India.
Free vibration and stability of cylindrical shells in interaction with flowing fluid
Horáček, Jaromír ; Zolotarev, Igor
This book is the "Nonlinear Dynamics of Shells with Fluid Structure Interaction". It follows a meeting that has been held at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Modena, Italy) on September 15th 2001.
Vibration cylindrical shells containing flowing fluid
Zolotarev, Igor
The natural frequencies of the free vibration of a circular cylindrical shell containing flowing inviscid fluid are studied. The numerical results obtained by use ANSYS numerical package are analyzed for frequency-modal properties of two different numerical models and compared with results of the analytical calculations. Application different FEM models that are created with using fluid-structure-interaction elements (FSI) and without it are analyzed too.
Vibration of cylidrical shell in interaction with flowing fluid /Z 1300/00/
Zolotarev, Igor ; Pelletier, D.
This report was prepared during a four months training period in the Institute of Thermomechanics of the Czech Academy of Sciences in the Department of Dynamics and Vibrations. The aim of this work is to create a program within the MATLAB software, which computes the natural frequencies of the vibration of a thin circular cylindrical shell in interaction with a flowing fluid.
Interaction of a spherical shell surrounded by an acoustical medium
Zolotarev, Igor
The interaction problem of a spherical shell with an acoustical medium is studied as some approximation of the human skull. The elastic sphere is described by using the thin shell theory and, in general, a compressible inviscid fluid that is considered on the inside of the vibrating shell. The dynamic characteristics such as the natural frequencies and the modes of vibration are analysed as functions of the geometrical and physical parameters of the studied system. The coupling of the elastic sphere and the acoustic medium are presented by use variations of the natural frequencies on the wave parameter and the influence of fluid on these variations.

Management of the Shell brand
Skopcová, Radka ; Filipová, Alena (advisor) ; Zeman, Jiří (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to describe how the company Royal Dutch Shell plc takes care of its brand and find out what image of the Shell brand has in the Czech Republic. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part I deal with the process of brand management. I describe here brand equity and its building, brand strategies, brand valuation. Onwards I describe brand research with an emphasis on the semantic differential. Semantic differential is a method of qualitative research used in the practical part of this thesis. In the practical part I deal with the activities and history of the company Royal Dutch Shell plc and the company Shell Czech Republic a.s. This part also contains research of the Shell brand, which forms the key part of this thesis. Based on this research, I find out image of the Shell brand and I compare it with a competitive brand OMV.
