COMMUNICATION AS THE PART OF NURSING CARE
FIALOVÁ, Hana
My final project was divided into two parts- theoretical and practical one. In the theoretical part I focused on the definition of communication itself as well as the communication in terms of nursing care. In the practical part I am dealing with the results of the socilogical research based on the questionnaire. I interviewed the nurses in the Rest centre in České Budějovice and Žďár nad Sázavou. I also worked with a great deal of interviews with the clients in these two institutions.
The role of nurse as regards the need of alimentation and hydratation of long-term patients
VOTAVOVÁ, Šárka
The need of nourishment and hydration are among the most basic physiological needs. An individual cannot be satisfied without the fulfillment of these needs. A healthy individual eats and drinks according to his needs. However, a long-term ward patient or an old person experiences a decreased need for nutrition and hydration. These patients must therefore be continually offered food and drink. A sick person often feels ashamed to ask favors from others. An unwritten rule states therefore, that a long-term lying patient should be offered a drink every time he is passed by. Here, nurses play an important part. Two aims were settled. (1) Find out how important nurses are to the long-term lying patient and his need of nutrition. (2) Find out how important nurses are to the long-term lying patient and his need of hydration Further, two hypotheses were set: H 1: Nurses take an active part in supplying the need of nutrition of the long-term lying patients. H 2: Nurses take an active part in supplying the need of hydration of the long-term lying patients. A structured questionnaire was chosen as the means of collecting data from nurses, while patients were questioned directly through an inquiry. Nurses included in this work come from long-term wards and elderly wards in České Budějovice, Písek, Strakonice and Horažďovice. The inquiry involved eighty long-term lying patients. It was presumed that the nurses play an irreplaceable part in supplying the patients with nutrition and hydration. These presumptions were inferred by this work. From the obtained results it is clear that nurses are very important for the needs of the patients. The aims and hypotheses were proved by both the nurses and the patients. This does not necessarily mean though, that the care offered to the patient could not be further improved. An active exchange of experience among the nursing establishments, concerning even the easiest issues such as nourishment and hydration in patients is highly recommended. The results of this work were already noticed and required by the head-nurses of wards in hospitals in České Budějovice and Písek.
Knowledgeableness of patients before and after an operation of the intervention
PRSKAVCOVÁ, Hana
Based on the information within the Bachelor{\crq}s thesis titled {\clqq}Knowledgeableness of patients before and after an operation of the intervention``, which was aimed at the knowledge women have about pre-operative care before planned and acute caesarean section and about post-operative care, hypothesis 1. Women consider themselves to be well informed before the planned caesarean section. According to my research, this hypothesis was confirmed. Hypothesis 2. Before the caesarean section, women do not feel to be properly informed about the surgery. However, research did not confirm this second hypothesis. Hypothesis 3. Women that underwent the caesarean section are comfortable with the way they have been informed about the operation. The quantitative research method through questionnaires was used for data collection. The questionnaire contained 24 queries and was anonymous. The questionnaires were determined for women after the caesarean section and were issued at the Puerperium ward of the general hospital in České Budějovice. A total of 114 questionnaires were handed out and 111 of them were returned filled out, from which 103 of these were used within the final processing procedure. The results clearly show that women consider themselves as sufficiently informed before planned as well as acute caesarean section and consider themselves sufficiently informed of post-operative care.
The need of lifelong education health care workers for assuring the nursing care in residential homes
MARTINOVSKÁ, Jaroslava
This paper is concerned with life-long learning during nursing practice in retirement homes. New advancements in the medical field foster the need for continual improvement of knowledge of nurses who work in these homes. Nurses play essential role in these institutions, and that is why they, their opinions, and their options have been chosen as a target for research. Theoretical part of this paper has been concerned with overall characteristics of the nursing profession; developments in nurse's education; characteristics and needs of aged people; and overall nurse-client relationship in retirement homes. The goal of the research was to find out opinions about, and options of life-long learning of medical workers in these institutions. Before the actual research, two hypotheses have been stated: H1 - retirement-home nursing staff must be educated on continuous basis; and H2 - retirement-homes do not offer such education. The actual research has been carried out through questionnaires, and standardised interviews. The research has revealed that the nursing staff is in need of life-long learning, and that retirement home institutions are satisfied with this fact, and support their nurses in the pursuit for education. Thus, hypothesis 1 has been confirmed; hypothesis 2 has not been confirmed. Based on the conclusive evidence of this research, some improvements have been proposed to nurses, and to management staff in the relevant retirement-homes.
Satisfaction of women in childbed with nursing care on obstetric auditorium
MAŠKOVÁ, Jitka
The nursing care has in the care for health unreplaceable position. The attribute of the present nursing are individualized care and an independent working of the obstetricians centred on the prevention and on the support of the patients health. The satisfying and the dissatisfying of the patients needs reverberates in their consciousness as subjectively felt content or discontent with the care. The effort of the obstetricians has been the focus on the client. The new philosophy of the health services is to meet patients wishes and achieve therethrough their contentment. The patient{\crq}s satisfaction with the nursing care is an important information which predicate about the functioning of the individual departments in the health care institutions. {\clqq} The patient{\crq}s notifications is an valuable advice as well as an important motivating step to the improvement of the care quality.{\crqq} The nursing sees the patient with all the negative as well the positive sides and therethrough the patient{\crq}s contentment is understood as the priority objective wich cannot be marginalized. The satisfied patients have more confidence in the physicians in the nurses. They also much better cooperate during the labour. The objective of this thesis has been to state if the patients are satisfied with the nursing care on the labour ward. The supposal saying that ``The patients are satisfied with the nursing care on the labour{\crqq} ward has been stated. The supposal should be confirmed or disproved on the basis of the executed research. Hereat has been chosen the quantitative research in the questionnaire form. The question forms have been given to the mothers after the physiological labour on the confinement department in the hospital in České Budějovice, Tábor and Jindřichův Hradec. For research it has been used the set of 145 properly filed questionnaire forms. The research has proved that from the total number of questioned mothers 145 (100 %) the number of 142 mothers (97,9 %) were satisfied ewith the nursing care on the labour ward. The supposal has been confirmed by the research, the patients are satisfied with nursing care on the labour ward. The thesis shall be used within the tuition in the University of South Bohemia, published in the specialized publications and on the internet. An absolute majority of the patients has been satisfied with the nursing care on the labour ward. It is very pleasant conclusion of this thesis. In formed times to the patient has been often dictated what should or should not be done and therethrough the possible effect on the labour has been limited. Present is many respects different. It is more disposed for the changes in the nursing and puglic health in general. There is bigger space for the cooperation between the obstretricians group and the patient. It creates the safe enviroment in which both the patients and the nursing taff feel considerably better.
Romany paras versus hospitalization in hospitals
BABKOVÁ, Lucie
In my bachelor thesis I was engaged in Romany questions namely the problems of Romany women. My work is devided into two parts. The first part is theoretical and the second part encludes the research work. In the first part I dealt with Romany comunity from its history until present. I tried to refer to some hot themes such as the Romany family, education, living Romany attitude to their health, etc. In the end of the theoretical part I´ve briefly mentioned the transcultural nursing which should help us (meaning the medical staff) with our approach to the Romany ethnic group. I´ve made the research by the help of 29 closed question questionnaires. The questionnaires were given to 100 Romany women in South Bohemia. 70 filled in questionnaires were given back to me and this was the sample I worked with in my research of my bachelor thesis. The answeres in the questionnaires ought to confirm or to displace the set hypothesis. The fist hypothesis {--} the Romany women take the negative line to a longer hospitalization. The second hypothesis- the Romany women are leaving hospital before they were relased on the ground of outlasting conventional model of Romany family. On the basis of the answeres gained from the questionnaires it is possible to say that neither the first or the second of the set hypothesis in this work wasn´t acknowledged. The Romany women don´t have any negative attitude to the hospitalization not even to the medical staff. In case that they have some reservations to the hospitalization those are only reservations concerning to lack of something (TV, choise of meals, prohibition of smoking and others). The second hypothesis was disconfirmed by the fact that 60% of Romany women after childbirth left the hospital after they were released by the doctor. In case that the women left hospital even it was for a short therm only the medical staff was informed by them. The most frequent reason leading to leaving hospital was the anxiety of children who were left at home. This was in a close connection to the age and to the number of already birthed children. The elderly expectant mothers having more children left hospital more often without the awareness of the medical satff or on declaration written undertaking then the younger expectant mothers that got over less births and having less children at home. For denying of this second hypothesis it is possible to assume the weakening of the influence of conventional model of Romany family.

Problems of nursing care about patient with apalic syndrom
DRÁBKOVÁ, Kateřina
This thesis deals with problems in nursing care of clients with apallic syndrome. There were 4 hypotheses. The first hypothesis presumes that nurses give patients care focused mostly on treating developed complications. After evaluation of the results focused on nursing care, we found out that some nurses know the correct processes while others do not. This means that patients are sometimes given the correct care and sometimes not. So hypothesis 1 was proved valid. The presumption for the other three hypotheses was that nurses do not have information about BS conception, do not know about possibilities of its usage, and do not use this conception in their care of clients with AS. However, the results concerning BS conception were very positive. Nurses know the conception and use it in their care about clients with AS. Hypotheses 2, 3, and 4 were not proved valid.
Nursing care and nourishment of premature baby
LONGÍNOVÁ, Ilona
NURSING CARE AND NOURISHMENT OF PREMATURE BABY A newborn baby isn´t a little adult, a newborn baby is basically a defenceless creature demanding a very complex care that aims at creating secure conditions for its life. It requires love, tenderness and a lot of devotion for the whole period of 24 hours. The bachelor´ s dissertation paper is dealing with the subject `` Nursing care and nourishment of a premature baby{\crqq} In the theory section the difference between a physiological and high risk newborn baby, the principles of care on the intermediary ward, the nourishment problems and the favourable consequences of breast feeding and breast milk not only on these children are described. Some of the aspects of the care are pointed out aiming at satisfying the basic needs of a baby. Dissertation objective: The paper itself is engaged in finding out something about how well mothers of high risk newborn babies, who are hospitalized on intermediary wards in Jindřichův Hradec and České Budějovice, are informed on a suitable care and nourishment procedures in their children. It should find out how far they have gone with their knowledge of the way their children should be taken care of before they leave the hospital. It is supposed to highlight the drawbacks of the staff , to remove these drawbacks and thus to improve the quality of care. Hypotheses: Two positive hypotheses were formulated referring directly to the particulars goals. 1/ The mothers who are hospitalized on the intermediary wards for newborn babies in Jindřichův Hradec and České Budějovice are aware of the necessity of properly nourishing the child. 2/ The mothers who are hospitalized on the intermediary wards for newborn babies in Jindřichův Hradec and České Budějovice are sufficiently informed about the proper care leading to meeting the needs of their children. Data Collecting: The research mentioned above was carried out on the intermediary wards in Jindřichův Hradec and České Budějovice. A questionnaire was composed to collect the relevant data. There were 22 questionnaires handed out in each ward and the research group was set up including 37 mothers of the hospitalized children. The questions included in the questionnaire referred predominantly to how well the mothers are informed about the child´s care and nourishing problems and they were supplemented with some identification. The gained information was properly processed and evaluated. The results were put in graphs. To get a more distinct picture of the results a pie chart was selected. The research results are assessed in the discussion and confronted with the hypotheses. Conclusions: Both the nourishing care and the nourishment of a premature baby are a subject involving a lot of medical, psychological and social problems. A maternity ward nurse plays a very important and definite role in the care of a premature baby. Supported by her profesonal abilities she is able to initiate such a method of work that reacts immediately to the needs of a child in a positive way. The educational contact with the child´s parents is eqally important and plays a very precise role. The fact how well mothers are informed is influenced by their age, by how much they are interested in getting information and its resources and how much they are willing to be educated by the medical staff on the intermediary wards in Jindřichův Hradec and České Budějovice where they are hospitalized with their children. The research results are very good.
