Bachelor's thesis deals with the furniture manufactured in the Czech Republic from the sixties of the 20th century up to the present. The furniture is closely connected with the feelings of society which are reflected in furniture's shapes and decoration. The time of Socialist Realism, Postmodernism, recent history and today are desribed in this thesis. In every chapter (decade) the situation of period, furniture making and summary are sketched. The result of the thesis is a diagram of the furniture development in the past and an estimation of the future. The results are analysed in a discussion.

Social work in the context of risks and influences of occultism in a post-modern society

The thesis deals with the issue of risks associated with modern occultism in social work and ethic reflection of dilemmas which may occur in social work in connection with the spiritual dimension of people.The first Chapter presents social work as an independentsphere, it provides a brief overview of the social care history, points out the values on which social work is based, reflects the influence of Christianity on creation of the all-society solidarity and emphasizes importance of social worker personality.The second Chapter further develops the topics of religiosity and spirituality, paying special attention in particular to the institutionalized form of spirituality. drawn. The issues of spirituality which need not have any official form are the subject matter of the third Chapter of the Thesis. The Thesis presents alternative directions associated especially with the New Age movement, which combine elements of different traditions in an unusual way. This Chapter is focused on the risks connected with practicing modern occultism and which one may face in the field of social work as well. It also reflects various dilemmas arising from the context of spirituality and from confrontation of personal values of the worker with those of the organization or the client. The fourth Chapter enriches the Thesis with a pastoral dimension which can be helpful for social workers in the improvement of quality of their work and in prevention of ethical dilemmas.
The Man, the Sense and the Free-time

This thesis is based on the theoretical research using scientific texts. Method of reasoning (deduction) were compared ideas of the individual authors who deal with description of contemporary (postmodern ) society, exploring the question of the sense of life and represent a difficult life events that can cause the threat or loss. The work is divided into three chapters, each of which contains sub -chapters. The first part refers to a person in postmodern society. There is a characterization of contemporary society, the challenges of the new era, gain new requirements on the man and related problems. The second chapter is building on the issues of the first chapter. Some fragments which describe the particular challenges of life events and their impact on the man, the sense of living in certain periods of life. There were used mainly idea sof psychotherapists who are dedicated to working with people in a state of crisis. Following the previous chapters, the last part of the thesis deals with the question of the free time, defining the category of the free-time and pointing out its importance for contemporary man. Emphasis was placed on the free-time pedagogy using appropriate free-time activities as a tool for finding richer and more meaningful human life in certain difficult life events that brings the requirement of a new era. Last but not least, there was to explain the context of the free-time and religion.
ANALYSIS OF CONTEMPORARY LIFE-STYLE ACCORDING TO GILLES LIPOVETSKY AND MICHEL MAFFESOLI: COMPARISON AND CONFRONTATION OF SELECTED THEMES, PROBLEMS AND CONTROVERSIES

The thesis analyzes and compares the approaches of two authors dealing with phenomena in contemporary society. It focuses mainly on issues of lifestyle and values. The thesis asks questions related to socialization and individualization of society. The thesis is divided into four parts. The first part is about definition of the basic terms (postmodernism, lifestyle, values). The second part is devoted to the concept of Gilles Lipovetsky. The third part focuses on the concept of Michel Maffesoli. In the fourth section, there is a comparison of these two concepts, where we are primarily focused on tracing argumentation clashes and controversies. In the final part, there is the presentation of the main questions and ideas, that come out on the basis of this comparison.
Seventh-Day Adventists between modernism and postmodernism

This work reflects on how the Seventh-day Adventist Church meets the challenges of postmodernism, despite itself having its roots deep in the modern era. The first part deals with the origin of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and the development of its dogma. It primarily focuses on the Thomas Reid?s philosophy of common sense and describes the Adventist statements of dogma that are typical of this church and were influenced by the philosophy of common sense. The second part analyses how this church deals with the challenges of the postmodern era. It describes the current categorisation of Adventist theology on the basis of the differing macro-hermeneutic of the individual streams that depend on how they view the relationship between God and time. It also indicates the practical impacts that these various approaches to church praxis lead to. The aim of this work is to be as objective as possible in describing the current situation and show the potential risks and solutions that the church and its members face. In the author?s opinion, an adequate response to the problems of Adventism in the postmodern era can be found in shifting the emphasis to a general Christian perspective and in redefining specifically Adventist teachings.

The second chapter describes the evolution of culture in game since human origin to postmodernism and the evolution of game in art. The third chapter takes on the evolution and conditions of postmodern culture, and also game in postmodern art. Further it describes virtuality and reality of game and society nowadays. The thesis is focused on the analyse of postmodernism, especially its center {--} pluralism. The aim of this thesis is to valorize its meaning from the view of ethic and to show, that pluralism is inescapable and it is positive situation, because it helps to evolve freedom of people and make it possible to self-determination. First chapter is introduction to postmodern philosophy and postmodern society. Second chapter theoreticaly entertains pluralism, describes its functioning, its demands and apologizes it from critics. Third chapter illustrates some concrete examples of pluralism. Theme of last chapter is freedom and what positive brings pluralism to her. In conclusion is resume and apology of positive gains of pluralism.
