The agricultural area of South Bohemia belongs to the regions where the steady advancement of industrialization created conditions for survival of continuous phenomenons of traditional culture, survival incomparably longer then in other regions. Up to the 1970s, in the region of Blata in South Bohemia had been kept a traditional funeral rite that in a great part contained of songs above the open coffin of the deceased.
Folk Song in Kindergarten

This work is in the first part of the theoretical chapter dedicated to singing activities and its place in the present kindergarten education. The second part occupies with the folk song as a part of Czech culture, its characterization, its history and present. The practical part of this work occupies with the posibility of using the folk song in the kindergarten and its bringing near to present childern. Further the work contains the plan of using the folk song which in further parts verifies and analyse. One part of the realizatoin is recorded on DVD. This DVD is part of the practical chapter. The aim of this work is to describe and verify the possibilities of using the folk song as a device of complex completing the aims of kindergarten education.

The conference proceedings were published on the occasion of the 100 year-anniversary of the Institute of Ethnology of the Academy Sciences of the Czech Republic. The published studies deal with history of ethnology and ethnography, with collections and documentation of folk culture (first of all folk songs) and with theory and methodology of ethnological research. The studies include abstracts translated into German.
