Creating application for editing Windows Registry using platform Linux

This Bachelor thesis is focused on public knowledge about internal structure of Windows Registry. In this thesis is described in deep logical and physical structure of Windows Registry. After that is there list of open-source tools for accessing Windows Registry. In end of this work is described process how to create application which allow users to access Windows Registry from Linux with graphical interface GUI.

System design for gamehosting

With the coming of new modern technologies, powerful computer setups, great amount of additional equipment and omnipresent high speed internet connection, there are even more users playing computer games. These are not simple turn-based games with insufficient graphical processing, but these games are top modeled and promising unlimited fun. There are many multi player games a user can host for his own chosen friends and I have focused on this not exactly simplest issue. I have summarized possible types of servers and operating systems, outlined security dangers and ways how to protect the server against potential attacks from the outside. I have also developed a manual and programmed a admin control panel for easy management of the hosted game.

Thesis contains basic information about operating system OpenWrt. The first part is devoted to the history and development of this system. The work includes a description of the installation of the selected device and its settings. The thesis also includes comparative tests carried out in comparison with the original operating system router. The reader can decide which system is better suited to its needs.

Operating system MINIX

This thesis introduces readers to the MINIX operating system, which was used in the creation of the Linux OS. It discusses the history and development of the system and explains its core and the file system. Also solves MINIX installation and configuration of the virtual machine at each step and deals with disputes that had a creator of Minix creator of Linux. In conclusion, compared with Linux MINIX and summarizes the advantages and disadvantages and the use of the operating system at present.

Backup of servers

The Bachelor work deals with tools for backing up servers, these software tools are Bacula, Amanda, BackupPC and Windows Server Backup. In introduction author overview concepts of backup and outlines possible backup strategy. The main part of work offers scenarios for which each backup instrument is appropriate. All the tools are described in details in terms of functionality and in terms of working with them during backup and restore files or folders. At the end of work is each tool compare with others in terms of the criteria to choose the best selected program for backup server.

The goal of this paper is to inform readers about high availability problematics and provide basic overview of free technologies you can use to achieve high availability. I focus mainly on solution of problems caused by hardware failures. Document can by used to gain basic knowledge needed for configuration of your own solution. In practical part I will try to realize high available cluster using free technologies and compare performance of different filesystems on this platform. Document will provide instructions for choosing and testing appropriate filesystem for specific configuration that can be used in production environment.
