Historical development of nursing care in children in the CR.
LAZOROVÁ, Hana
The availability of the health care in the 19thcentury was not very good from the geographical and economical point of view because in the countryside the care was provided by less qualified people. The care of a child was mainly only at home. Mothers took care of the children on their own. They got information and experience from elder more experienced women in their surroundings. There are many myths and superstition related to the health care at this time. The culture of the society and the religious views influenced the treatment of children at that time. The paediatrics as an independent branch of science began to develop at the turn of the 19thand 20thcentury. In connection to this progress the attention was also focused on development of children´s health care. There were established first children´s departments and the care moved slowly to hospitals. The ways of the care of children changed during the historical development. A big progress in treatment of children was in the 20th century. The nursing schools and other hospitals were established. We can also register an increase in number of professional literature dealing with treatment and education of children of different age period. The consultancy for the mother and the child started to extend. The myths and superstitions were slowly forced out of information with scientific basis. The care of community was developed in the middle of the 20th century. It was a response to the bad availability of the health care in the country. In 80s of the 20th century has been introduced a new way of care of the mother and the child in maternity units, so called roaming-in that has functioned successfullytoday. The main priority of the children´s health care is to ensure good health care for children at all age, not only in hospital but also in the health. The goal of this thesis was to map the development of the health care at children´s age in the area of the Czech Republic. The research was based on the qualitative method. Acquired results through a content analysis data were divided according to particular periods of time. Mapping of the development of the health care at children´s age in the area of the Czech Republic may provide a complete view not only for nurses but for all medical staff and non-professional people.
Lifestyle of mothers of disabled persons whose disability originated in perinatal period
WITZANYOVÁ, Aneta
The birth of a child is always a big change in the family. However, the birth of a child who has specific needs means in most cases a big change for the mother and a completely new arrangement of her future life. Differences in lifestyle have their positive but also negative sides. The aim of this bachleor´s thesis is to open this social theme which might sometimes be a taboo. This thesis is focusing on several aims. The main goal is to raise public awareness of people with disabilities and point out that mothers of disabled children are extraordinarily strong personalities. They do not have an easy life, nevertheless they do not want to feel pitied, to see sympathetic glances of the others, or to be laughed at. Another aim is to find out what the lifestyle of mothers of disabled children is like, how it is changed and to identify possible threats of social isolation. With regard to social isolation, I would like to discuss the possible impact of place of residence on the lifestyle of the mothers. The theoretical part of my thesis focuses on the family, disability and mainly on the role of the disabled child's mother. Here are also mentioned other important themes like social isolation, burnout syndrome, social support and aid which are closely related to this topic. The empirical part of my thesis deals with the research itself, summary and presentation of gained pieces of information. Last but not least this part focuses on giving answers to research questions. The research was conducted as a qualitative investigation on a principle of the grounded theory technique with the support of three-stage coding and setting of grounded statements. The data were processed in the software programme ATLAS.ti where the graphical outputs were also made. These put the final touches to each category of the empirical part of my thesis. Based on the analysis and interpretation of the gained data I have come to a conclusion that the lifestyle of mothers has changed a lot in many areas after the birth of a disabled child. For example in the area of family and working life, or in the personal area we can see the change of personality and the scale of values which are the most frequent reactions to the disability of a child. It was also found out that the main influence of the place of residence on a lifestyle is in the access to services. Living in the countryside or in a small town is usually very limiting for the mother of a disabled child, mainly in terms of accessibility of services and transportation. Nevertheless, these changes and facts in most cases do not lead to a negative perception of life with a disabled child. The research has proved that mothers of disabled children live different, but not poor-quality lives. This thesis could be beneficial for further public education to raise awareness of the fact that mothers of children with disabilities are incredibly strong people. In spite of the difficulties they often perceive their lives as "normal" and common. The thesis could be also beneficial for mothers who have just delivered a disabled child and they have to cope with the situation. The empirical part of this thesis could be used to support the possibility of living a high-quality life despite the disability of the child.

Mother's role from the perspective of primiparous mothers
VOSÁTKOVÁ, Kristýna
The bachelor thesis deals with the issue Mother's role from the perspective of primiparous mothers. The work aims to find out how the role of mother is perceived by the primaries themselves, what is part of this role and what is not part of it. At the same time, the work focuses on fathers and their duties in relation to the child, and the distinction of original ideas from the reality of the mothers of the firstborn. In order to attain the goal of the work, qualitative research was used in the form of personal interviews and subsequent categorization, their own interpretation and definition of terms from the point of view of respondents. The work contains the theoretical part and the practical part. While the theoretical part provides a literary search of Czech and foreign literature, in the practical part of the thesis it was found that the role of a mother is, besides child care, household care. With the help of the research, it was found that respondents addressed the division of labor between the parents of the child did not work too much and at the same time it was found that the role of the fathers is particularly marginal in the family. At the same time, it was found that the primary concepts of women differ considerably from the real life with the child, often in a negative way. The work thus achieved a very interesting but authoritative result. On the basis of the findings made, hypotheses were laid for further professional and scientific work.
Ethical Dilemmas of Mothers Caring for Childern with Disabilities
BOUZEK MATTASOVÁ, Jindřiška
Thesis is aimed on ethic dilemmas of mothers with disabled children in care. Child health is the highest priority for most mothers and its permanent damage is one of the worst traumas a mother can face in her life. It is not easy to cope with such a situation and handling it causes a lot of stress which changes a whole life of such a woman. Every mother will approach such a situation differently. The goal of the theoretical part of the thesis is, firstly, to frame definitions of ethic, health disability, to describe home environment of disabled child, from the mother's point of view. Secondly, to give a brief on laws and ethic codex's concerning parents and their care of disabled children. The goal of the practical part was to map ethic dilemmas of mothers during their lives with disabled child. Mothers I questioned were in their middle age. I assumed that a woman in her 40ties is actively analysing her past and has somehow clear plans her future. To reach my goal, I chose a qualitative research through semi structural interview with selected mothers caring of disabled children. The set consisted of seven selected mothers. I completed interviews with these mothers and evaluated the results using a technique of open coding, "putting down cards" and think maps, which illustrate the situation of the mothers. Through my research I defined the ethics dilemmas the mother's faces and I identified factors which formed the solutions. The gathered information is not only useful for a research, but also for forming a base of a useful network of health and social services, which might support mothers who will face such a situation in the future.
