Increase in Winter Air Temperatures in the Czech Republic between 1961 and 2010
Střeštík, Jaroslav ; Rožnovský, J. ; Štěpánek, Petr ; Zahradníček, Pavel
Based on the analysis of average monthly air temperatures between 1961 and 2010 it can be statistically proven that there is an increasing trend. The actual level of increase, however, is different for each season and is also specific for a particular region – there are differences between Bohemia and Moravia. In the summer, the average monthly air temperatures rise more significantly in Moravia, where there is a higher number of stations with increase of over 1°C compared to Bohemia. This is also true for the spring, for which the difference is not so profound, and is yet smaller in the autumn. In contrast, in the winter there is a more significant increase in Bohemia, where most stations show an increase of over 0.5°C. In Moravia the increase is usually only around 0.3 to 0.4°C. Differences between the increases of average air temperature can also be seen across the individual winter months. Highest increase was found in January, where some stations in Bohemia show an increase of over 1°C, a value that was not observed in Moravia, where some stations have an increase of less than 0.8°C. In December and February, the level of increase in general is much smaller. However, given the predicted increase of air temperatures in the future in general, it can be expected that in the upcoming decades the number of warm winters will increase. Such increase of air temperatures in the winter is likely to have negative impacts for the agriculture.
Genetically modified plants for future of globally warmed planet
Nedělová, Jana ; Opatrný, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Nátr, Lubomír (referee)
Many problems which have an adverse impact on crops, come into the agriculture with global warming the planet and thus changes in regional temperature and humidity regimes. These problems will be significant especially in developing countries that are already interfered by drought and threatened by famine. Therefore major target is developing of plants resistant to these climatic changes. Only the very classical breeding doesn't clearly sufficient for these tasks. However, genetic engineering could contribute significantly by genetically modified (GM) plants. This modern breeding-cultivation technology has several advantages in comparison with traditional breeding. One of them is for example targeted and well-controlled change in genotype, which allows obtaining plants with specific desired properties.
Optimisation of the house heating by use of the renewable energy sources
Husák, Ondřej ; Frk, Martin (referee) ; Křivík, Petr (advisor)
The thesis contains is familiar with the issues of renewable energy and global warming. Assessing the use of these resources in households in the Czech Republic. The selected family house, perform measurements on the existing heating system. In conclusion, there is suggestions for optimalization system houses, the possibility of linking the with renewable energy sources and an assessment of economic turn.
Climate changes - actualities from the year 2012
Oupický, Pavel
There is reported in this paper about climate changes in the year 2012
Measurement and evaluation of emissions of gases in the selected operation pheasant and design to reduce them using nanotechnology.
ŠPETA, Ondřej
,,Measurement and evaluation of the production of gas emissions in a selected operation breeding pheasants and their proposal for reduction in the use of nanotechnology " This thesis deals with the production of greenhouse gas emissions in the breeding of pheasants. Greenhouse gases are monitored for fear of global warming of the planet Earth, as they prevent the natural greenhouse effect. Agriculture in its factory farming of livestock is one of the largest emitters, such as: ammonia, carbon dioxide, oxides of nitrogen.
The temperature and precipitation course in Prague-Karlov, 1961-2010
Střeštík, Jaroslav
The course of temperatures and precipitation in Prague over the last 50 years is presented and compared with scenarios of the further development of the climate. The temperature increased significantly and this increase is more rapid than that of the global temperature. Precipitation totals display only very small decrease over the last 50 years. However, precipitation totals in spring decreased more than the annual sums and a remarkable decrease of days with heavy rainfall takes place. These facts contribute to the observed decrease of the amount of moisture in nature and to the increased occurrence of droughts. There is no indication that all these observed trends could be different in future.
The change of mean air temperatures i the town and outside the town during the last 65 years
Střeštík, Jaroslav
The climate in the town differs from that in the nearest surroundings in many respects: in the town higher air temperature. lower air humidity, much higher air pollution et. takes place. The town can be considered as an island with a different environment. Due to the increase of towns all mentioned differences between the town and its surroundings increase too. In this contribution the change of mean annual, and seasonal air temperature in the Prgue center (Klementinum) and on its boundary (airport Ruzyně) during 1946-2009, partly on airports Tuřany and Mošnov during 1951-2009, will be presented. Mean air temperatures on all stations display, besides a considerable fluctuation, a stable increase given by the global warming.
Political vision of Vaclav Klaus
Binar, Martin ; Rataj, Jan (advisor) ; Prorok, Vladimír (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with opinions of Vaclav Klaus, which are compared with teoretical basics of liberalism and conservatism. The main goal is to point out Klaus'es values according to both ideologies. First part of thesis describes main values of liberalism and conservatism in theoretical way, which are then compared with Klaus'es opinions in main events of his political career. Second part describe those events. To 2003 was Klas in institutional function as finance minister and prime minister, so this event are from this point of view. In 2003 was Klaus elected to the highest institutional function - president of Czech republic. So th third part describes his opinion of European union and global worming as president.
Vegetation of heat pipelines and participation of invasive species
SVĚTLÍKOVÁ, Petra
Both climate change and plant invasions are phenomenons affecting vegetation structure and its functioning. This study compares vegetation of heat pipelines with surrounding vegetation and investigated survival of thermophilic species in the zone on heat pipelines. Reactions of plants on global warming, including possible invasive behaviour of alien species, are briefly discussed.
Floods in the South Bohemia Region
HRDÝ, Roman
Floods in the South Bohemia Region The first chapter provides general information including the current legislation of the Czech Republic pertinent to crisis management, floods, crisis situation and crisis state definition, and the categorisation of events/disasters, including flood. The important role of urbanism which affects the course and consequences of floods is also discussed. The second part deals with the issue of floods, their origin, classification, floodprotection measures and forecasting as connected with the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute whose functions and procedures are described. The main part presents results of the field survey carried out in the municipalities affected by floods in the South Bohemia. I describe, compare and analyze the last great floods in the years 1997, 2002 and 2006 in the Czech Republic, or the South Bohemia Region. Their intensity, progress, meteorological reasons and damages which they caused are evaluated. I generalize the factors with a direct influence on the extent of damages, including social and economic impact. In conclusion of this part, the danger of floods in the world is also mentioned. In the final part of my thesis, climatologists{\crq} opinions on global warming and the possible causation of this threat with floods are presented. The result is the confirmation or invalidation of the working hypothesis which I set for my thesis.
