The European Union support tools and their impact on the small and medium-sized Enterprises in Czech and Slovak Republic

Small and medium - sized enterprises play an important role in the economy of the European Union and the global economy as whole. The European Union offers many of the support programs for SMEs. This diploma thesis deals with the description and analysis of important EU support tools for SMEs in Czech Republic and Slovakia. The goal of the diploma thesis is to analyze these tools, impact on SMEs, analyze the participation of the Czech and Slovak SMEs within these programs, their interest, do statistics, compare the both states and based on above mentioned analysis and questionnaire survey on chosen sample of small and medium - sized enterprises, some recommendations for the Slovak and Czech SMEs are done and the conclusion about the situation in this sphere is determined.

The main objective is to define the role of small and medium-sized enterprises in the development of municipality with extended power Hodonín. Role will be defined based on the collection of primary and secondary data and its subsequent analysis. In the thesis there are also suggestions and recommendations to promote small and medium-sized enterprises and thereby also to the development of rural areas.

The aim of the thesis is to introduce basic and summary methodology for European SMEs to be able to search, select and submit application for support programmes, dedicated to their specific needs and requirements. The metodology will be given in graphical form (UML diagrams) and the form of verbal manuals, which will describe searching, selection and submission of application processes .

The aim of this work is to identify and evaluate key commercial risks for the internationalization of SMEs in the engineering sector based in the Czech Republic. Furthermore, the aim is also to propose measures that could be small and medium enterprises in the engineering used for the elimination of commercial risks. In the theoretical section provides the knowledge and concepts in the field of internationalization, international management and marketing and risk management. The practical part includes an analysis of the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in the years 2005-2013 and engineering in 2009-2013, the interpretation of survey results and identify key commercial risks for SMEs. Based on the results, a draft of appropriate measures that could SMEs be used for the elimination of commercial risks.

The aim of this diploma thesis is to identify basic specifics of internationali-zation process of small and medium sized enterprises operating in the branch of agriculture. The identification will depend on the base of the data obtained from the survey and it will depend on the base of chosen methodical procedure. The practical part of diploma thesis contains the description of actual condition of small and medium sized enterprises in Czech republic and it also contains characteristic of the branch of agriculture to which is related the survey. On the base of the results of the survey there were descripted the factors influencing the internationalization process of the enterprises, there were identified the most important motives that lead to the entry to foreign markets there were also described the obstacles and the risks that bind to the enterprises

The development of the world economy is connected to the process of internationalization and globalization of the world economy. Due to produces new business opportunities. Enterprises should come in front of new opportunities and be open to the world market. The aim of the thesis is to identify risk factors for internationalization process of small and medium-sized enterprises. The partial goal is to determine whether small and medium-sized enterprises perceive less risk when trading with neighboring countries and whether in internationalization process plays the role of psychic distance. Part of the thesis is to analyze the current state of small and medium-sized enterprises.

Rizika v procesu internacionalizace MSP podnikajících v oblasti ICT

This diploma thesis deals with the internationalization process of Czech small and medium-sized enterprises in ICT and identifies risk factors of this process. In the literature review is described internationalization and associated phenomena, like globalization and liberalization. Second part is given to basic approaches to internationalization. This part also includes a definition, importance, advantages and disadvantages of small and medium-sized enterprises and their situation in Czech Republic. At the end of this part, there is described risk, risk management and risks in internationalization process. The main aim of practical part of this diploma thesis is to identify the key risk factors of internationalization process of small and medium-sized enterprises in ICT. Risk perception is compared between companies in the border areas and companies other than border areas. The results of this work are also compared with the results of research by the OECD. Practical part of this thesis also contains description of small and medium-sized enterprises in Czech Republic and characteristic of ICT sector with the emphasis on foreign trade of this sector.

The thesis analyzes current state of CSR in small and medium-sized companies in construction industry of Czech Republic as an industry which has great impacts on environment, energy resources and also national economy as one of the biggest employer and propose recommendations for improvement of CSR and hereby improvement of competitiveness of small and medium-sized businesses in construction industry. Thesis is built on qualitative and quantitative research within four member countries, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Sweden and United Kingdom.
