Entomopathogenic fungus \kur{Beauveria bassiana }- biological characteristics
PAVLÍČEK, Pavel
This literature compilation focuses on current knowledge in the biological characteristics of the entomopathogenic fungi Beauveria bassiana, with emphasis on the influence of abiotic factors on the development and its effectiveness in selected species of harmful insects. Knowledge of abiotic factors is important for a successful outcome to protect plants against harmful agents this entomopathogen. There are also set out the specifics, benefits and examples of using the aforementioned entomopathogen in biological plant protection. In conclusion, the possibilities are assessed using the entomopathogenic fungi B. bassiana in plant protection in the Czech Republic and other aspects concerning the practical use and distribution.
Entomopathogenic fungus \kur{Beauveria bassiana} - use in biological plant protection
HROMAS, Jakub
Entomopathogenic fungus Beauveria bassiana is one of many species of entomopathogenic fungi used as a biological protection against plant pest. Compared to other species this one is spread worldwide, long known and one of the most studied species. This work describes besides a detailed description of the Beauveria bassiana also other six important fungal species used for biological protection (Hirsutella, Isaria, Metarhizium, Nomuraea, Paecilomyces, Verticillium) and provides a detailed description of four available commercial biopreparations, namely BotaniGard 22WP, BotaniGard EC, Mycotrol O, Naturalis L which can be practically used for pest suppression. The work also provides information about two products developed in the former Czechoslovakia, Boverol and Boverosil. The conclusion brings practical examples of the use of these products while protecting against the European spruce bark beetle, the Colorado beetles and the Cherry fruit fly.
Use of entomopathogenic fungi in biological control against greenhouse whitefly Trialeurodes vaporariorum and sweetpotato whitefly Bemisia tabaci
NAVRÁTILOVÁ, Dana
Diploma Thesis concerns with usage of entomopathogenic fungi in system of biological control against greenhouse whitefly Trialeurodoes vaporariorum and sweetpotato whitefly Bemisia tabaci. The Aim of diploma thesis was through in vivo and in vitro experiments determinated the basic evolutional and vegetative characteristics of selected entomopathogenic fungi and compare their effectivity in completed system {\clqq}plant - pest - pathogenic``. All experiments and results are demonstrated in the tables and the graphs. The photo-documentation of the method used during founding and interpretation of experiments is the part of the thesis.
Predatory insects and mites - information database and e-learning system
LENCOVÁ, Jana
Aim of thesis was to create an electronic version of an information database and the e-learning system, focusing on predatory insects and mites. The e-learning system provides information about the main types of predatory insects and mites used in biological plant protection, including the types of naturally occurring entomofauna and acarifauna agroecosystems in the Czech Republic. The system contains information about the taxonomy, morphology, development cycles, prey, methods of control, etc. Thesis is a combination of text, tables, photographs and line drawings from professional publications. The various components of the system are interconnected through hyperlinks. The system includes information on the ecotoxicology, dictionary terms and the ability to search based on various criteria. In the photo gallery you can find together 310 images, which are intended to create a picture of the morphology, development cycles and behavior of individual organisms.
Possibilities of AFLP technique in study of \kur{Beauveria bassiana} genetic structure
BERANOVÁ, Kristina
Beauveria bassiana is widely used in biological control against the economically significant pests. Detection of morphological and genetic polymorphism among single species and strains in natural environment is important to study of the distribution and the effects in the ecosystem. The aim of this study was to determine the links of "local strains" with ecological aspects of biological control in protected zone of National park and assess the polymorphism of the population monitored in NP Šumava and exotic strains using molecular markers. There were analyzed 39 strains collected in the NP Šumava and the Krkonoše National Park in the Czech Republic and 11 strains from different countries and areas. The polymorphism of these strains was evaluated by different methods based on DNA analysis. In this study, the genetic variability is evaluated by AFLP markers. The results reveal that population from NP Šumava is very closed and the "local strains" can be very well characterized thanks these methods and compared with other strains from different parts of the Czech Republic and other countries. Thanks to these screening analyses, the strain Bba I101was determined for the preparation which will be used for bark beetle (Ips typographus) control in the National Park Šumava in the Czech Republic. This study was supported by grants GACR 521/08/H042, MSM 60076658-06, MZP SP/2d1/41/08.
Evaluation of growth and production parameters of nematophagous fungus \kur{Arthrobotrys oligospora}
ŠEDIVÁ, Monika
This M.Sc. thesis is aimed to describe growth and production parameters of nematophagous fungus Arthrobotrys oligospora. There was determinated information about growth and sporulation of fungus on artificial and natural substrates, influence of cultivation condition on production biomass and possibility of formulation alginate pellets.
Pests of greenhouse cucumbers and tomatoes - informative and educational database
DOUL, Lukáš
Diploma work is based on constructing of electronic informative system about greenhouse growns damaging pests - growtheal vegetables, concretely forced on forwarding cucumbers and tomatoes. The aim of diploma work is to make out the given information system with division of pests according to kind of the growth, place of damage and integrated locator of pests based on their Czech or Latin title, eventually based on information about pests and bioagens. The system contains detailed information about individual pests, their bionomii, enlargement and protection, including the biological protection. A part of this informative system is a large number of photographs of individual pests, biological preparations or injured plants with apparent symptoms.
Compatibility of different entomopathogenic fungi with parasitoid Encarsia formosa
ŠTĚPÁNOVÁ, Kristýna
This M.Sc. thesis is aimed to describe level of the compatibility between various strains of several entomopathogenic fungi with parasitoid wasp Encarsia formosa. From many species of entomopathogenic fungi Aschersonia aleyrodis, Beauveria bassiana, B, brongniartii, Lecanicillium lecanii, Metarhizium anisopliae and Paecilomyces fumosoroseus were the species which were tested in experiments. It was found, that A. aleyrodis is very selective, because it infects only unparasitized nymphs of greenhouse whitefly Trialeurodes vaporariorum. All other strains of tested fungi were much less selective, however their efficacy always increased total efficacy when compared with the efficacy of parasitoid alone. It was concluded, that fungi A. aleyrodis, L. lecanii and P. fumosoroseus posse{\crq}s big potential for construction of IPM programs.
Employment of biological protection at oats growing
ŠIMKOVÁ, Jana
For oat protection was used Trichoderma harzianum as a bioagent. The fungus that antagonizes other fungi causing diseases on corn. It was applied in two doses on glumed oat allotment with the acreage 8m2 . The grown oat varieties were Neklan and Atego. The first application of the fungus was made shortly after the oat emergence in the form of granula together with the NPK 11-7-7 (in 2005) and NPK 15-10-10 (in 2006) fertilizer , the second application was made in the form of solution of Supresivit S2. The crop was yield by the special harvester and from the threshing the samples for next analyse were taken. The final apprasial was made. in VÚRV Ruzyně.
