Brown coal mining in the Carlsbad region in the interwar period
Somogyi, Tomáš ; Jakubec, Ivan (advisor) ; Fabianková, Klára (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to analyze the situation of brown coal mining in the Carlsbad region between the years 1918 and 1938. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and an analytical part. The theoretical part describes the growing importance of mining and the development of brown coal mining before the formation of Czechoslovakia. The analytical part describes the largest mining companies and compares the region to the North Bohemian district. The thesis is based on the data from unpublished sources of company's archives and regional literature. The result of exploration is that in case of employment was the importance of mining comparable with the present. The level of production was 75% lower than in the North Bohemian basin. The evolution of productivity in the period between the world wars was caused by the sales crisis, the Great Depression and arms race in the late 40's of the 20th century.
The use of mixed waste polymers in thermal treatment with brown coal
Kříž, Vlastimil ; Bičáková, Olga ; Machač, P.
Samples of brown coal from Jiří Mine alone and its mixtures with waste plastics were gasified on a laboratory scale. Using a thermal-degratation module, inserted in the stream of volatile products of pyrolysis and gasification, energetic gas with with higher hydrogen content was obtained.

Experiment in industrial scale proved that waste rubber can be treated by co-gasification with brown coal.
Experimental verification of possibility of waste plastics gasification with brown coal
Straka, Pavel ; Káš, Václav ; Kříž, Vlastimil ; Brožová, Zuzana
Process conditions research proved that waste plastic and municipal waste with plastics can be treated by co-gasification with brown coal.

Land reclamation of extracted superficial mines - project of lake Medard
Kratochvíl, Petr ; Antoš, Ondřej (advisor) ; Ryvolová, Ivana (referee)
This bachelor thesis is trying to find the answer to the question whether the territorial ecological limits are the appropriate instrument of environment protection. The answer to this question is searched through the analysis of current legislation and by comparing the arguments of opponents and supporters of territorial ecological limits. One of the most important parts of a dispute concerning the future of territorial limits is the effectiveness of land reclamation of quarries after extraction. The effectiveness of reclamation is illustrated on the reclamation project Medard in Sokolovsko. On this project is shown the financial and administrative performance of projects and their contribution to the citizen ant a region.
