Influence of titanium dioxide on the life of lead acid batteries with applied pressure
Řihák, Pavel ; Křivík, Petr (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
Hybrid electric vehicles use lead acid batteries operating under partial charge. Battery life of these batteries is dependent on the speed of development of lead sulphate (PbSO4) to the negative electrodes. Different admixtures are affected battery life. This work deals with the influence of titanium dioxide on the negative active material in lead battery. Mainly devoted to the influence of the applied pressure.
The cycle modes of lead-acid batteries
Mičák, Tomáš ; Tošer, Pavel (referee) ; Vaculík, Sebastian (advisor)
Main goal of the diploma thesis is to examine lead-acid accumulator and to study cycling modes in different setups. Theoretical part describes history, types of maintenance-free batteries, degradation mechanisms and possibilities to remove them. Practical part involves the production of electrodes and experimental cell, composition of active mass and measurement of internal resistance. Different configurations for deep cycling are researched as well. The results of the work are summarized and commented at the conclusion of the thesis.
Optimalization and methods of internal resistance measurement of the lead acid battery cell
Fojtlín, Branislav ; Vaculík, Sebastian (referee) ; Křivík, Petr (advisor)
The aim of this master´s thesis is optimalization and methods of measuring the internal resistance of lead acid accumulator. First focus is on the analysis of properties of lead acid accumulators, their construction and negative effects. After that a method of measuring the internal resistance of experimental accumulator is processed. In this thesis practical design of measuring workplace is completed. The frequency analysis of impedance of charging and discharging accumulator is performed. After that the graph of internal resistance for various amplitude intensities, for various signal forms and also for various size of frequencies of alternating current are processed. The result of this thesis is a comparison of graphic works addictions charging and discharging characteristics of lead acid accumulator and determination of optimal amplitude, form and intensity of frequency of alternating current in point when internal resistance is evaluated correctly.
Influence of different types of AGM separators on parameters of lead-acid batteries for hybrid electric vehicles
Čada, Miroslav ; Vaculík, Sebastian (referee) ; Tošer, Pavel (advisor)
The most used type of the secondary energy sources is the lead-acid accumulator today. It is also used as a propulsion in hybrid electric vehicles. Functional principle stayed same as in foundation time, only parameters are still improving. Lifetime of lead-acid accumulator is influenced by used separator. The work deals with the description of properties of lead acid separators, methods of testing and evaluation of the suitability for use.
Effect of glass fibers in the lead-acid batteries for hybrid electric vehicles
Klojda, Viktor ; Tošer, Pavel (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
Master´s thesis deals with the utilization of lead-acid accumulators in hybrid electric vehicle regime. It describes the side effects known as PCL, generated during PSOC regime and connected with the length of the battery lifespan. One possibility how to eliminate these effects, is the use of additives in active mass of the negative electrode, in the form of glass fibres. The project provides the parametres and reactions of additive, that have lead to the improvement of battery properties. The purpose of this thesis is to verify the positive effect of the aditive on the lifespan of the lead-acid accumulator.
Influence of pressure in the lead-acid batteries for hybrid electric vehicles.
Svoboda, Marek ; Vaněk, Jiří (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
Lead-acid batteries of hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) are functioning in PSoC regime (Partial State of Charge). In PSoC regime new fail mechanisms occur. These mechanisms usually lead to nonreversible sulphation of negative electrodes. Main aim of this research is to avoid negative electrode sulphation and to improve lifetime of lead-acid accumulators used in HEV.
Using lead-acid accumulators in hybrid electric vehicle regime
Hejdiš, Roman ; Novák, Vítězslav (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
The master´s thesis discuss characteristics of hybrid electric vehicles and lead-acid accumulators applied in car industry. It compares classic and alternative drive in cars, descibes classification of hybrid drives and its characteristics. Further work disscus lead-acid accumulators which focuses on VRLA accumulators applied in hybrid electric cars. Practical part contains a construction description of negative electrode and experiment, which studied influence of various amount addition of carbon on attributes of these electrodes.
Functional blocks for the development of autonomous photovoltaic system
Ovesný, Karel ; Křivík, Petr (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
The project considers realization system, which will allow us to test six different operation modes on lifetime accumulators. The system will link to computer, which will execute measurement current and tension and switch betwencharging and discharging modes. The measured values will record in someone time intervals in to computer memory. After someone time will analise these measured valuer and will provide optional operation mode.
Investigation pressure effect on lead-acid accumulator lifetime for hybrid electric vehicles.
Kulhány, Andrej ; Bilko, Radek (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
The thesis is focused on remitting lead-acid segments of partial charge mode which simulates the conditions in HEV. The experimental cells were submitted to different pressures on the electrode system. The main aim of the thesis was to minimize the irreversible sulphating of the negative electrodes, which are in the PSoC regime limiting in the overall life of lead-acid accumulators. All cells were submitted to measurement of the negative electrode potentials, resistance of active materials, contact resistance of the grid – the active material and measurements of pressure changes during three PSoC cycles.
Investigation of temperature change in lead-acid accumulator for HEV
Tošer, Pavel ; Křivík, Petr (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
The oldest and also most used type of secondary cells is lead-acid accumulator. Basic functional principle stayed same as in foundation time, only operation parameters are still improving (for example one of the most important is lifetime). Significant technical problem is temperature of lead-acid battery and her influence on functionality and running reactions. Master thesis is focused on this section, when is necessary to evaluate new pieces of knowledge in development. The work deals with description existing types of accumulators, further deals with theory of temperature balance and in the end by measured datas and theirs analyzing.
