Detection of residual moisture of porous media using electrical impedance spectrometry

Diploma thesis examines detection of residual moisture of porous media of using the measuring apparatus based on the application of the method of electrical impedance spectrometry (EIS). The devices Z-meter of third and fourth generation, were used for measurement, which were designed in projects international applied research. Experiment was executed in Laboratory of Water Management Research, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Brno University of Technology.
Monitoring the impact of simulated rainfall on soil with flushing water by EIS method

The diploma thesis with name “Monitoring the Impact of Simulated Rainfall on Soil with Flushing Water by EIS Method” deals with the problems of soil degradation due to salinization and sodification in consequence of infiltration of flushing waters from roads during winter maintenance. This experiment was realized in laboratories of the Institute of water structures of the Faculty of Civil engineering at Brno University of Technology and researched the influence of simulated rainfall on degraded soil by method of electrical impedance spectrometry (EIS). The thesis follows the solution of projects in international EUREKA program.
Monitoring of the snow cover using EIS method for possibility of determining of the snow water equivalent

Sealing wall was installed to the body of the dam in 2013 during a complex reconstruction. Data of monitoring during 2012, i.e. before the reconstruction, are compared with the data measured in 2015, i.e. after the reconstruction. Data of past month from 2015 are added.

Bachelor thesis examines the possibility of using the measuring apparatus based on the application of the method of electrical impedance spectrometry (EIS) for monitoring the temperature stratification of the water. For measurement are used the devices Z-meter III and Z-meter IV, which were designed in project E!4981 and E!7614 international applied research in program EUREKA. Part of the thesis is also a proposal of the probe. The experiment is carried out in a laboratory conditions, Laboratory of Water Management Research, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Brno University of Technology.
Determination of anomalous area of homogeneous earth dike of small reservoir

This thesis deals with the assessment of changes occurring in the earth dike of small water reservoirs Bezedník III. in the village Kobeřice and the definition of anomalous areas identified by the indirect method of measuring electrical impedance spectrometry (EIS). The thesis follows the solution of projects E!3838, E!4981 and E!7614 in international EUREKA program.

Use of EIS method for determination of sedimentation in stady liquid

Determination of interface between sediment and liquid belongs to common tasks in various fields of industry like sewage and/or water treatment. The aim of presented work is verification of suitability of electrical impedance spectrometry (EIS) method for determination of interface between soil and water. The suitability was verified on three samples of soil. The first one was a sand while other two were loam of different grain sizes. Introduction of both the EIS method and Z-meter III instrument used for measurements is presented in this work too. Within conclusions the suitability of the method and provability in determination of water-soil interface are discussed.
