Physiotherapy in the eyes of the general public
ZACHOVÁ, Pavla
This bachelor degree thesis offers an analysis of the views of the lay public, i.e., non-medical persons, about physiotherapy. Physiotherapy forms a part of the complex process of rehabilitation, and plays an important role in preventive, diagnostic and medical care. This thesis consists of two sections: theory and practical. The theory section deals with the history of physiotherapy, complex rehabilitation and the International Classification of Functioning, Disabilities and Health. The chapter entitled Physiotherapy explains the aims of this field, the training of physiotherapists and the scope of their work, as well as the diagnostic and therapeutic tools used. This chapter also includes a code of ethics, a list of professional associations, a code of standards for physiotherapists, and possibilities of payments for the provided physiotherapeutic services. The final chapter of the theory section gives the definition of the words ?massage? and ?massage therapist?. The practical section aims to find out the level of knowledge the general public has about the meaning of the word ?physiotherapy? and its associated expressions, the physiotherapist training system, the uses to which physiotherapy and spa care could be applied, and the role physiotherapy plays in the Czech health system. My survey took the form of a quantitative research, and the data were collected from responses given in the questionnaires. Target groups were people from the regions of Vysočina and South Bohemia. They were classified into four age groups. The questionnaire consisted of 22 questions and the collected results were processed using the occurrence analysis method, and also displayed graphically. The survey proved that the general public needs to be better informed about the field of physiotherapy and physiotherapy treatment conditions. For this reason, an informative brochure containing all necessary information for the non-medical section of the population has been issued. This bachelor degree thesis can be used as learning material for current and former students of physiotherapy, as well as by other medical and non-medical professionals. It also encourages us to think about how to raise the image of physiotherapy both amongst the general public and healthcare specialists.

Zootherapy for Pupils with Special Education Needs in District Tábor
KRATOCHVÍLOVÁ HAVLOVÁ, Jitka
Zootherapy, as a relatively new method, is categorized within a comprehensive rehabilitation and in special schools. Here is used not only as suitable relaxation and diversification of lessons, but also in targeted work with children ? development of physical, mental, emotional and social skills. The animal is not the only mediator, but a welcome friend, to which many children with disabilities have closer relationship than to other people. Dogs are loyal friends, without any conditions, they are willing to snuggle and play, offering a plentiful amount of initiative, the child is not bored with them and he /she learns new skills naturally. Horse riding gives to children a sense of uniqueness, joy, freedom, it increases their self-image and it develops child´s motor activity. And even small animals (hamsters, quinea pigs, turtles, budgies etc.) are able to awaken happiness, interest and through love to an animal it is only a step to love other people.

Effect of Handball Help project on positron of physically - disabled in a society
KLEMENT, Marek
At present our lives are very hasty, full of extremely ``fast things{\crqq} and we are unable to exclude the fact that anything can happen to anyone. Suddenly you can find yourself fastened in a wheel chair e.g. as a result of a car accident or a dive. Then it is important to have someone who will offer a helping hand. People are social beings. They are humanized and socialized within the human society. The same can be said about the disabled. Therefore their social position and recognition as well as their roles ranked in the society are very important. A crucial means in this situation is the system of compact convalescence.
The integrated rehabilitation system in the subjects with psychical diseases
SYNKOVÁ, Lenka
This bachelor work deals with problems of an integrated rehabilitation system at the persons with mental diseases. The integrated rehabilitation system is actually a present-day conception of the rehabilitation. The rehabilitation is solely not understood only as a medical activity in the sense of physiotherapy, but as an inter-disciplinary domain containing therapeutic, social, pedagogical and working components. An aim of the integrated rehabilitation system is to make possible for the people with mental diseases to reach or to keep an optimal level of all functions. To provide them means so they could achieve a higher living standard and means to integrate them into an active life in the society. For a wide spectrum of the mental diseases I concentrated on persons with the diagnosis of schizophrenia, obsessively compulsive alienation and a dementia of Alzheimer type. In the theoretical part I devote to the characteristics of concepts - the integrated rehabilitation, health, mental health, psychiatry. Further I describe causes, characterization, cure, therapy and social impacts of individual mental diseases. Other chapters I mention in my work are focused on the integrated rehabilitation system with particular means, a legal anchorage and a social work with the mentally ill people. For an elaboration of the experimental part of the bachelor work I chose a quantitative research combining processes of qualitative and quantitative methodology. The chosen technique is a standardized questionnaire for workers in psychiatrical hospitals and a technique of the contentual analysis of data from the medical documentation of persons hospitalized in psychiatrical hospitals. The research set was made up by 52 workers in the psychiatrical hospitals and 6 people with chosen mental diseases. As the main aim I determined to analyze a situation in the area of the integrated rehabilitation system at the people with mental diseases in psychiatrical hospitals. To describe how individual factors of the integrated rehabilitation system come through and to find out what kind of knowledge the respondents about the integrated rehabilitation system have. From the results of my work follows this conclusion: The rehabilitation of the people with mental diseases, hospitalized in mental hospitals, is aimed to a medical factor of the rehabilitation. Workers taking care of the people with mental diseases have not any concrete imagination about the integrated rehabilitation system.
Hipotherapy as a part of coherent rehabilitation by multiple handicapped children
HONNER, Petr
Hippotherapy is a method of physiotherapy which transmits a regular three-dimensional movement of a walking horse from the horseback to the client in various positions. This movement is unique and it stimulates postural reflexes, coordination and balance responses, provides proprioceptive sensorimotor stimulation and it practices and fixes physiological movement patterns. The impulses are transmitted from the horse to the client´s lumbosacral area of the spine via the pelvis. As a person riding a horse does not load his/her legs the rider´s response to the moving horseback is a specific movement pattern for the trunk and pelvis, as if the person is walking. This aspect of hippotherapy cannot be replaced with any other rehabilitation method. It is performed in a non-clinical environment and it offers to the client the opportunity to communicate with the horse and to get outdoors to places that would be otherwise not available for him/her due to the disability. The children and adults are thus involved in an activity they can talk about with friends. The horse and the environment around contribute to the treatment of the body and soul alike. The theoretical part of my bachelor thesis deals with the definition of hippotherapy within the integrated rehabilitation of persons with various types of handicaps. I have focused particularly on individuals afflicted with spinal muscular atrophy and hereditary sensorimotor polyneuropathy. The objective of my bachelor thesis is to describe favorable effects of hippotherapy on children with various types of handicaps. The research part deals with the utilization of the method in practice. The qualitative techniques used for data collection included medical records, observations, secondary analysis of data and photographic documentation. The results of hippotherapy demonstrated favorable effects on both the monitored clients who attend the ARPIDA rehabilitation center for handicapped people. The research was conducted on clients with spinal muscular atrophy of type III and hereditary sensorimotor polyneuropathy. The casuistry of both the clients describes the course and results of the therapy.
Supportive therapy with dog´s assistance as a part of the coherent physiotherapy for the physically disabled person
BAUEROVÁ, Monika
ABSTRACT The use of animals as man{\crq}s helpers or companions is as old as domestication itself. Contact with an animal, if accepted positively by the person, relaxes, slows down heartbeat and lowers blood pressure, releases tension, intermediates communication, compensates for missing abilities of people. Canistherapy as a supporting rehabilitation method contributes to the relaxation of muscle spasms, development of fine and gross motor skills, stimulates verbal and non-verbal communication, orientation in space, enhances motivation to participate in one{\crq}s own healing process, and improves the client{\crq}s interaction with other clients and nurses. The theoretical part of the Bachelor thesis is dedicated to the definition of canistherapy within comprehensive rehabilitation of people with a motor apparatus disability. Particular attention is paid to the issue of individuals affected by cerebral palsy and achondroplasia. The goal of the Bachelor thesis is to determine the influence of a dog-assisted therapy on people with a motor apparatus disability. A partial goal is to define the standing and position of a dog-assisted therapy within integral comprehensive rehabilitation of the client. The research is mainly focused on the use of the Animal Assisted Therapy method. Qualitative techniques of data collection were used within the research part of the Bachelor thesis. The following data collection techniques were used: anamnesis, observation (kinesiology examination), secondary data analysis and photo documentation. Results of the action of AAT method canistherapy prove in different areas a positive influence on both monitored clients permanently living in a diagnostic social care institution. The research was carried out in a client suffering from a quadriplegia form of cerebral palsy and in a client with achondroplasia. Casuistries of both mentioned clients describe the way of dog assisted therapy conduct, progress and results.
