Changes in Behavior in Families in the Context of the Educational Measure Imposed
BEDNÁŘOVÁ, Pavlína
The bachelor thesis focuses on whether the imposed educational measures influence the behavior of individual family members to such an extent that they are able to change the existing lifestyle for the benefit of their children. The main aim of the work was to compare the opinions of OSPOD workers and families on the imposed educational measures. The partial goal was to map the experience of OSPOD workers with the activation of families in connection with the imposed educational measure. The theoretical part contains the definition of the terms family, family environment and education. The greater part is devoted to the activities of OSPOD in families in connection with the imposition of educational measures. In the conclusion, the reasons and ways of imposing educational measures are described, which is crucial given the topic of the thesis. The empirical part was processed in the form of qualitative research. The method of questioning, the technique of semi-structured interview was used for the actual collection of information. The research group consisted of OSPOD workers and families with imposed educational measures; 12 communication partners were approached in total. The data was further processed by the method of generating clusters, i.e. searching for continuity in responses. The research found that the opinions of OSPOD workers and families differed in part. From the parents' point of view, educational measures mostly contribute to improving the family situation. Through them, parents realize their deficiencies in childcare and try to correct them. While OSPOD workers do not agree in their attitudes. Some identify with the views of the parents, others share the opposite view. If the family perceives educational measures only negatively, it deliberately sabotages cooperation. The results of the work can be useful for orientation of OSPOD workers in applying certain educational measures effective for solving family situation.
Conflict in confidentiality and reporting obligations in social work
ŠTĚPÁNOVÁ, Jana
The bachelor thesis deals with the issue between confidentiality and reporting obligations (mandatory reporting) in the area of social workers. One of the areas of social work where this conflict most often occurs is the social and legal protection of children. The obligation of confidentiality of a social worker is explicitly stated in Section 100 of Act No. 108/2006 Coll., the term of mandatory reporting is contained in the Penal Code Act No. 40/2009 Coll. However, this issue also has the other side of the coin, which is the definition of confidentiality and mandatory reporting in terms of ethics, which is constituted in the Code of Ethics of Social Workers of the Czech Republic. Thus, a social worker often finds himself in a number of situations where he faces a dilemma of decision-making within the framework of law or ethics. The theoretical part deals with the role of social worker, values and moral and ethical issues. There is also information from the point of view of confidentiality and mandatory reporting in the area of social work with various aspects of performing this activity in the area of social and legal protection of children. The aim of the bachelor thesis was to map the experience of social workers in the field of social and legal protection of children with conflict between confidentiality and reporting obligations. To answer the research questions, the qualitative research method based on semi-structured interviews with open questions was used. The interviews were conducted with a target group of social workers working in the area of social and legal protection of children. The main research question set in this work were: Do social workers in social and legal protection of children distinguish the ethical and legal aspects of a dilemma? Do social workers in social and legal protection of children favor the legal or ethical way of thinking in their decision-making? The results of my work can serve mainly for pedagogical purposes as illustrative cases of dilemmas in social work.

ŠKAMPOVÁ, Jana
The aim of the bachelor thesis was to identify the dilemmas of the social workers, who give suggestions for taking the child out of the care of parents to court. In the theoretical part, the basic concepts connected and relevant to the given topic have been explained. This section is divided into three chapters. In the practical part, there a research question was answered which was chosen on the basis of the research goal: What dilemmas are being solved by DSLPCH social workers in practice? A qualitative research strategy was selected for the research, and a semi-structured interview technique was used. Data analysis was performed by the encoding method. The research group was selected by purposeful selection and is made up of six social workers working at the SLPCH (social and legal protection of children) and having at least one experience in filing a proposal about taking the child out of the parets'care to court. Semi-structured interviews were conducted into the theoretical saturation of the sample. The research section showed that a social worker in the SLPCH department faces dilemma situations every day. The most sensitive dilemma is the dilemma whether or not to file a proposal to take the child out of the parents' care to court. Solving dilemma situations depends on the decision, experience, and conscientiousness of the social worker. It also depends on the willingness and collective cooperation of all social workers in the SLPCH department, as the most common solution to dilemma situations has been the consultation of the dilemma with the other colleagues. Based on the views, experience and advice of colleagues, a social worker decides to proceed further in a dilemma situation. Experience is one of the most valuable things in this department because there is no comprehensive system for the right procedure, because each situation is different and needs to be done individually. The results of the research may be beneficial to social workers who encounter similar dilemmas.
