Title: Case study of Physiotherapeutic Treatment of a Patient with Total Knee Replacement. Summary: The aim of this bachelor thesis is to present a complex overview of the topic of total knee replacement. The theoretical part covers the anatomy and the kinesiology of the knee joint, gonarthrosis, types of knee replacements, surgical therapy and subsequent rehabilitation treatment. The practical part contains case study of a patient with total knee replacement which comprises entry kinesiological analysis, short-term and long-term therapeutical plan, daily therapy records, final kinesiological analysis and conclusive evaluation of the therapy effect. The results of the physiotherapeutical treatment are greater range of flexion and extension in the subject knee, muscle strengthening in the area and overall improvement of clinical status of the patient. Keywords: knee joint, total knee replacement, physiotherapy, case study, gonarthrosis
Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient with the Diagnosis of Left Total Knee Replacement
Faladová, Martina ; Ragulová, Michaela (advisor) ; Hankovcová, Eva (referee)
Title: A case study of physiotherapeutic treatment of a patient with total endoprothesis of the knee joint Objectives: The main objective of this bachelor thesis is to process a case study of a patient with total endoprothesis of his left knee joint. The case study is based on the theroretical information described in the first part of this thesis. Methods: The case study of particular pacient consists of complex kinesiologic examination at the begining and in the end as well, furthermore, it consists of short-term and long-term physiotherapeutical plan and eight therapeutic units. Finally there is an evaluation of the effects of the therapy. The case study itself was made during practise in the Military Hospital in Prague from 21st January 2020 to 30th January 2020. Results: Patient's range of motion (knee flexion) improved. Muscle strength of hip flexors and knee extensors improved as well. Overall, muscle balance surrounding the knee got better after completing all eight therapies. Keywords: knee joint, total endoprothesis, gonarthrosis, physiotherapy, case study, alloplasty
Case study of Physiotherapeutic Treatment of a Patient with Total Endoprosthesis of the Knee Joint
Vávrová, Barbora ; Ragulová, Michaela (advisor) ; Kučerová, Ilona (referee)
Title: Case study of Physiotherapeutic Treatment of a Patient with Total Endoprosthesis of the Knee Joint Objectives: The main goal of my bachelor thesis is the case study of physiotherapeutic treatment of a patient with total endoprosthesis of the knee joint. Methods: The specialized section contains completely processed case study of the patient with total endoprosthesis of the knee joint. It includes anamnesis, initial and final kinesiology analysis, shortterm and longterm treatment plan and seven individual therapies. Case study was done in rehabilitation hospital Beroun from 13. 1. 2020 till 7. 2. 2020. Results: We reached the goals of improvement, especially in part of the knee joint with the total endoprosthesis. Range of motion of the operated knee is about 40ž higher in direction of flexion and extension. Strength of the weakened muscles of flexors and extensors of the operated knee is also higher than it was in the beginning. Keywords: knee joint, gonatrhrosis, endoprosthesis, physiotherapy, ostheoarthrosis, treatment
Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient with total knee replacement
Hadwiger, Jiří ; Stupková, Michaela (advisor) ; Hankovcová, Eva (referee)
Author: Jiří Hadwiger Title: The case study of physioterapeutical treatment of a patient with total knee replacement diagnosis Objective: The objective of this thesis is processing of the case study of the physioterapeutic care of a patient with total knee replacement diagnosis during an internship at ORFM department at ÚVN hospital. Comprehensive theoretical introduction to this subject is also a part of this thesis. Summary: This thesis is divaded into two parts. The first part consists of the theoretical knowledge of the anatomy, kinesiology and biomechanics of the knee joint. Following is the gonarthrosis chapter as the most common indication for the total knee replacement, its ethiology and choices of treatement. At last to present is total knee replacement, its history, surgical procedure and following postoperative rehabilitation. Second part is a case study of the real patient with total knee replacement diagnosis lasting 8 therapeutical units. In the end of the study is comparison of the paatients condition before and after rehabilitation and evaluation of the effect. Key words: knee joint, total knee replacement, gonarthrosis, physical therapy, case study
Case study of the physiotherapeutic treatment of a patient with total knee replacement
Blažek, Michal ; Martínek, Milan (advisor) ; Sohrová, Jana (referee)
This thesis deals with problematics of total knee arthroplasty (TKA) in a complex range. It is divided into two parts - the general one and the special one. The general part of the thesis targets on theoretical knowledge of the anatomy and kinesiology of the knee joint, knee arthritis and TKA as the most performed method of therapeutic intervetion in advanced stages of knee arthritis. Secondly, the special part contains the case study of the physiotherapeutic treatment in patient after TKA. Non-invasive methods and approaches in a range of the knowledge of the bachelor's studies on the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, Charles University, were used during the pshysiotherapeutic treatment. Improvement of the patient's clinical status in almost all sections was the result of the physiotherapeutic intervention.

Nursing specifics in the care of clients after high correction osteotomy of high proximal tibia over time.
BAČOVÁ, Emilie
Osteotomy means cutting a bone using a saw most often. It is used to adjust axial deviation, prolongation, or shortening of the bones. Over time, when there were changes in the development of the surgical technique of corrective osteotomy, changes in nursing care also occurred. This breakthrough concerns not only nursing staff, but also clients in particular. Because of the development of the surgical technique, the hospitalization time shortens and if the client does not perform a physically demanding job, where is a heavy load on the operated lower limb, the treatment time is reduced. This leads to a faster return of clients to normal life and employment. Nursing care becomes less demanding for staff than the older surgical method. The bachelor thesis is a theoretical work, which deals in the introductory part with knee joint anatomy, knee joint examination methods, explanation of the concept of gonarthrosis and the way of treating this disease. This part is followed by history of osteotomy and an explanation of the surgical method. An important part of the thesis is the description of nursing care of clients with high correction osteotomy as time goes by, which includes preoperative preparation, postoperative care and, last but not least, rehabilitation. The aim of the work is to describe, how the nursing procedures changed with the older surgical method. The second objective is to map out nursing procedures using a modern surgical method. There are the opinions of doctors and nurses of various medical disciplines, who have experienced nursing care of clients with high corrective osteotomy, mentioned. Gained knowledge could serve as a guide to nursing care of clients after high corrective osteotomy of the proximal tibia.
Economic evaluation of surgery compared with pharmacological treatment for patients diagnosed with gonarthrosis
Hájková, Kateřina ; Lešetický, Ondřej (advisor)
The main purpose of my diploma thesis is the application of economic evaluation principles; costs quantification and the consequences quantification of two different approaches in the gonarthrosis therapy from the perspective of Health Insurance Company and from the perspective of the patient; furthermore the evaluation of the effectiveness and utility ratio and the final determination for more convenient option. Considered alternatives are the hyaluronic acid injection and the total knee arthroplasty realization. Effects for the expenditures at cost-effectiveness analysis are measured by WOMAC Index. Effects for the expenditures at cost-utility analysis are measured by HUI2 score system. The research includes two sections: (1) the case study of two patients and (2) the clinical trials and nationwide Health Insurance Company´s data analysis. Particularly because of the brief observation time period, the pharmacotherapy is quantified as a more convenient alternative.
