Macroeconomic fundamental analysis of Europe, Asia and America with accent on banking sector
Petr, Pavel ; Veselá, Jitka (advisor) ; Sadílek, Tomáš (referee)
The aim of the thesis is analysing and evaluating the situation in each region through macroeconomical factors. First chapter is focused on Europe. The most interesting part of this chapter is the fiscal policy. Second chapter provides insight to fascinating Asia and its huge rise in recent past. Third chapter provides analysis of development of interesting economical values in America. Last fourth chapter includes econometrical analysis of relationships between time series of macroeconomical values and stock prices of representative bank shares from all regions enriched by equations for forecasting of future stock prices.
Analysis of inflation dynamics in Czech Republic
Hubálek, Ondřej ; Hušek, Roman (advisor) ; Formánek, Tomáš (referee)
Bachelor work is focused on analysis of inflation dynamics in Czech Republic using econometric models. Inflation with its impacts, costs and possibilities of measuring is described in the first part of this work. There is also described influence of Czech national bank on inflation progress and inflation targeting. Part also contains basic econometric models for inflation analysis and models of adaptive expectations. Consequently there is described theory of econometrics analysis, focused on ordinary least squares method. There are also described factors that can negatively influence significance of estimated models. In the concrete it is heteroscedasticity, autocorrelation and multicolinearity. The empirical part contains econometric analysis of inflation in Czech Republic by itself, using models described in theoretical part. There are also used other models, coming out of economic hypothesis. In the end there are selected models for inflation prediction.
Attendance of the Zoological Garden in Jihlava
Královská, Radka ; Hudík, Marek (advisor) ; Lahvička, Jiří (referee)
In this work I investigated the influence of selected factors on attendance of the Zoological Garden in Jihlava in the years 2001-2010. Each time series of monthly visitors were subjected to econometric analysis to determine the influence of explanatory variables on attendance. The work leads to the conclusion that attendance is significantly affected by air temperature, which was confirmed in all four models studied. Neither rainfall nor the price of admission didn't confirm the influence on the attendance of the Zoo, which may be due to low number of observations. The most significant impact on attendance had months of April and November, while other months were found to be very important in terms of attendance Zoo Jihlava.
Postmerger Financial Performance: Econometric Analysis
Volgina, Vera ; Hnilica, Jiří (advisor) ; Sieber, Patrik (referee)
There are numerous researches done in the last couple decades dedicated to the observation of impact of merges and acquisitions on the performance of the company. The topic is considered to be up-to-date, as still there is no common approach to evaluating of benefits mergers are about to bring to a new established entity. In this thesis the issue of post-merger financial performance is investigated on an example of three biggest energy companies in Europe: RWE, E.ON and Vattenfall. The aim of the thesis is to find out whether financial performance of chosen companies improves after the merger occurs. This target is elaborated with a help of the analysis of commonly used financial ratios in corporate finance and construction of two regression models, which explain the interrelations between basic indicator of the company's growth (net income), the fact of the merger and determined financial ratios. As an outcome of the research, a few findings were obtained, such as worsening of financial performance three to five years after the merger, with continuing improvement in further years, quite stable financial indicators before the merger, positive interconnection between the fact of the merger and the net income. Such outcomes might be considered as significant, though further research and elaboration of the topic can be performed in the future.
