Possibilities of physiotherapy at chronic overload of joints of lower limb on ballet dancers
NEŠPŮRKOVÁ, Martina
The thesis deals with problems of physiotherapy of ballet dancers who have got long term problems with lower limb joints overworking. The focus of my thesis is to present the issues of ballet and to state several specific kinesiotherapy and physiotherapy methods to prevent injury and overwork. In the theoretical part the anathomy and kinesiology of joints and fibrous apparatus of lower limbs are described. Next, there are the problems of hypermobility mentioned. Hypermobility is present by all dancers of classical dance, in case they are devoted to it for a longer time. One of the goals of this thesis is to give insight into a ballet. Therefore I have mentioned a history of a ballet as well as the issue of lower limb motional device injury, that are the most frequent. There are also the methods of examination and therapy mentioned in the theoretical part. The method of a qualitative research was used for the research part of the thesis. The research file consists of three ballet dancers, by whom the overwork of motional device in lower limb part has shown. The case history was taken during the entrance examination, the static examination in pelvis area was provided by aspection as well as palpation. Than the proof of hypermobililty according to Janda was done, the walk was examined, also the dynamical examination of pelvis - Trendelenburg-Duchenn proof, the walk analysis, the goniometric and antropometric examination. During the therapy the techniques of soft tissues were used, than the stretching of shortened muscles, the sensomotorical stimulation, the method of neuromuscular facilitation, the dynamical neuromuscular stabilisation and the exercises on a big ball. The part of every case interpretation is both short and long term kinesiotherapeutical schedule, by which the next goal of the thesis was fulfiled. The therapy was effective for all the dancers. First of all there is the improvement in the area of hock joint. The results of research part of the thesis have shown, that the methods, that were used were chosen appropriately and the effect of therapy is evaluated possitively. This thesis can bring benefit to any physiotherapist working with people having problems with lower limbs as case of overworking and unequal overloading. It shows the possible ways of therapy.
