Forming Relationships Among Children in Substite Family
MAREŠOVÁ, Miroslava
This bachelor thesis, entitled ?Forming Relationships Among Children in Substite Family? focuses on the analysis of substitute family care. Its aim is to determine the conditions influencing the developement of relationships between children in foster care or children adopted, joining the family recently and children already living in the family. The theses is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The first part ? theoretical, deals with the description of forms of the substitute family care, with the description of the periods: of the parents' inner decision-making, relevant experts' assessment and waiting for the child, and it especially focuses on the period after the child joins the family, when there are a number of occasions where problems might occur, related mainly with the developement of relationships with other children in the family. The second, practical part is based on qualitative research, implementing the method of interview with instructions. Among factors, affecting the relationships between children belong primarily the preparations of the family and their children for the newcomer, the choice of the child, approprita and fair aproach of the foster parents to all the children and the ability of foster parents to solve problems, araising among the children.
Substitute family care, focusing on the SOS Children's Villages in the Czech Republic in comparison with Austria
KRATOCHVÍLOVÁ, Lucie
The work is indirectly divided into theoretical and practical parts. The first two parts of my work are the theory parts, where the first part shows the problems of group foster care based on the SOS Villages in the Czech Republic. The second part describes what the SOS Children's Villages are, and how they operate in the Czech Republic. The practical part is a comparison of the Czech and Austrian SOS Children's Villages. This part is divided into three chapters. The first chapter addresses the issues of the SOS Villages in general, the second chapter refers to mothers in the SOS villages and the last chapter is about the children who live in SOS children's villages. For greater clarity of the whole issue, the text mainly describes the situation in the Czech Republic and in Austria and finally ends with a summary. At the end of this chapter I have added the overall assessment and a short discussion on the issue.
Foster care of relatives in the Strakonice district.
PANUŠOVÁ, Iveta
Abstract Foster care of relatives in the Strakonice district. This seminar paper is focused on an alternative family care with a special focus on grandparents to whom a child was consigned under the authority of §45 of family law or on the grounds of relational foster-care. These forms of care are the most suitable ones for a child in a difficult life situation. That is because the child remains in his/her own family where his/her own identity is preserved. The goal of this paper is to map the quantity of children who have been consigned into relational foster-care in the Strakonice area in the period from 2005 to 2010. This goal is supplemented by two fractional goals. The first one is focused on the fact who is the first one to take care of the child in need and the second one tries to find out the most common reasons that lead to the take away of a child from its biological parents. This research was realized at the departmentats of social-legal protection in the Strakonice area. It was performed by method of analyses and comparison of documents. This work mainly points out the actual situation in relational alternative parenting in the Strakonice area.
A perspective of students from Faculty of Agriculture and students from Faculty of Health and Social Studies of University of South Bohemia in Ceske Budejovice on the foster care
FEDROVÁ, Ilona
A family is an important primary social group for the child. But many children grow up in institutional facilities where it comes to their mental deprivation. An objective of our society is to grow up children in full-fledged families. This bachelor thesis is called: "A perspective of students from Faculty of Agriculture and students from Faculty of Health and Social Studies of University of South Bohemia in Ceske Budejovice on the foster care." The thesis has been divided into two parts. A theoretical part deals with the foster care and infertility. An aim of a practical part was to chart an awareness of students from Faculty of Agriculture and Faculty of Health and Social Studies on the foster care and at the same time to identify possible differences on the given issue among students from individual faculties. A quantitative research was used to collect empirical data, then an interviewing method and a questionnaire technique. To choose a research sample I used a snowball technique. The research sample was formed of 73 students from full-time and part-time studies from Faculty of Health and Social Studies and the second one of 67 students also from the full- and part-time studies of Faculty of Agriculture of University of South Bohemia in Ceske Budejovice in the academic year 2010/2011. There was formulated a hypothesis: ?Students from Faculty of Health and Social Studies have a greater knowledge of the foster care than students from Faculty of Agriculture.?, which was confirmed. The research showed that women-students had more accurate information about the foster care than men-students. The bachelor thesis could become a basis for further processing of citizen´s positions, for example of secondary school students, seniors or public from different regions or countries. A perspective of elementary school students who grow up in institutional facilities in comparison with children growing up in families could be another interesting finding. It can also benefit to candidates for a mediation of the foster care to obtain necessary information.
Attitude of the public to the adoption of children of another ethnicity to substitute family care
NOVÁKOVÁ, Markéta
For most of us parenthood is a natural part of life. Still the number of families today who remain childless even though they wish to have a child, is on the increase. On the other hand, there are still many children living in caretaking institutions. This raises the question as to how this situation can be dealt with? One of the possible solutions is the substitute family care. This thesis is divided into two separate parts, the first dealing with theoretical aspects and the second with research. The aim of the theoretical part of the bachelor thesis was to explain the concept of substitute family care and describe its different forms. In the conclusion of the theoretical part I have outlined the pitfalls of the substitute family care in relation to a child from a different ethnic group. In the practical part I focused on establishing the opinion on accepting children of different ethnic origin into substitute family care among the general public in České Budějovice. I tried to reach the set goal through a quantitative research using the questionnaire method. A questionnaire including 17 questions was used as a research technique. The questions were arranged in two groups: the questions to obtain identification characteristics of respondents and those concerning respondents{\crq} views on the given problems. 200 questionnaires were handed out and 113 were returned, i.e. the participation rate amounted to 56.5 %. The research results have shown that people are quite tolerant as far as sex and age of a child are concerned. Regrettably, it is not the case when it comes to ethnic origin of a child. People who are not tolerant towards and willing to accept a child from a different ethnic group into substitute family care still prevail in society.
Relative foster care
VOLECHOVÁ, Olga
The first goal was to map the issue of the foster care exercised by children?s relatives which was registered at the Municipal Office in Písek in 2009. The second goal was to find reasons for the consigning of children into that form of substitute family care. Two research corpuses were designated and the strategy of quantitative research was chosen for objects achieving. Two hypotheses were set: Hypothesis No. 1: Most of the children who are in the foster care of their relatives are in some contact with their own biological parents. Hypothesis No. 2: Parental failure to perform rights and duties regarding children?s welfare is the most frequent reason for putting children into foster care exercised by children?s relatives. Hypothesis No. 1 was proofed. Hypothesis No. 2 was not proofed
Foster care in the South Bohemian region during the years of 2003 and 2008
ŠIMONOVÁ, Libuše
This paper deals with alternative family care with the main focus being on foster care. The first chapter contains a brief introduction of adoption in order to compare and comprehend the differences between these two forms of alternative family care. The second chapter describes foster care from a historical and legal point of view. After this, we are introduced to all concerned parties - the foster care recipients, the foster care applicants and the authorities involved in the process - we are acquainted with the procedure of foster care mediation. In relation to the set goals, an investigation was carried out for the practical part of the project, whereby secondary analysis of data was carried out using primary documentation of children placed into foster care and foster care applicants in 2003 and 2008. In this instance, the applicants were already foster carers. The conclusion includes an evaluation of the data with the results detailed in tables and graphs. Finally, the time periods in question are compared in order to gain answers to the set research questions.

The inquiry was made to find out their awareness of their rights and appealed claims, their satisfaction with current foster care system as well as what experiences the fosterers have with the attending their applications and what services or experts are missed by them in the region. This form of foster family care is very demanding. Appreciation belongs to all who wants to give abandoned children their helping hands and opened hearts. Contact of biological families with children entrusted to foster care
DYTRICHOVÁ, Eva
The objective of the presented work has been to analyse the approach of foster parents administered by the Regional Authority of the South Bohemian Region to the implementation of the contacts of the children in their foster care with their biological families and to map out the contacts of children in foster care with their biological families. The first section of the study is focussed on a theoretical analysis of alternative family care and foster care in particular. The second section deals with the processing of questionnaires filled in by foster parents operating within the South Bohemian Region in the period from December 2008 to February 2009. The analysed data were processed under the use of the questionnaire technique. The set of respondents consisted both of foster parents for whom the foster care had been mediated by the Regional Authority of the South Bohemian Region, and of foster parents whose child had been placed into their pre-foster care as well as of foster parents who had acquired the status of foster parents as a result of their application filed with a court.
Surrounding People´s Reaction to a Couple Dealing with the Problem of Involuntary Childlessness
HEŘMANOVÁ, Bohuslava
Infertility is described as a condition in which a couple for at least one year, despite regular unprotected sexual intercourse, fails to become pregnant. It currently affects about 15% of couples. Acceptance of the diagnosis and subsequent treatment is a huge strain both in physical and mental aspects. People dealing with the problem of involuntary childlessness are usually very sensitive to the response of surrounding people. In the theoretical section infertility is defined as a disease, its causes are mentioned and possible solutions discussed. Assisted reproduction and substitute family care are described. Exercises using the method of L. Moses, spa treatment, alternative treatment options, and childlessness are also included. Communication of an infertile couple with surrounding people is described. The psychosocial impact of involuntary childlessness is also mentioned. The objective of the thesis was to survey surrounding people´s reactions on an infertile couple´s diagnosis and subsequent therapy. Another objective was to determine whether these couples feel the need to notify other people of their diagnosis and of the course of treatment, and what reaction they expect. A qualitative research strategy was chosen. The data collection was carried out using semi-structured interviews with couples who in their past had to deal with the problem of a not fulfilling parenthood. Eight couples and one woman participated in the research survey. The obtained data were evaluated by the qualitative content analysis. It has been found that an infertile couple feels surrounding people´s interest in the assisted reproduction treatment, its possibilities and progress, but also in its financial cost. Adoption is regarded as heroism, charity or foolishness from the perspective of the public. The research has shown that women in infertile couples have a greater need than men to share the infertility diagnosis and possible solutions with their close people. They also expect their close people´s assistance in the form of support, understanding and the possibility to share their experience as for the effort to get a child. These findings have answered the research questions and both the stated objectives were met. This bachelor thesis could be used by midwifery students, midwives and infertile couples as a source of information on the difficulties in communication between an involuntarily childless couple and surrounding people.
