Men's antifeminist identity - critical analysis of men's critique of feminist men.
Pavlas, Tomáš ; Havelková, Hana (advisor) ; Matonoha, Jan (referee)
The general question of this diploma thesis is the compatibility of present ideas of masculinity with democracy. The thesis narrows down the field of study onto men's antifeminist identity and maps out the variety within men's antifeminist movement. The methodology of the presented research is based on semantic and discursive analyses. The identity of antifeminist men is not studied independently, but by the means of a critical analysis of the antifeminist men's construction of their relationship to feminist men. The analyzed material consists of texts in which men are critical of feminist men. The thesis shows in what ways antifeminist men use diverse discursive techniques to construct various images of feminist men, images of themselves, and images of their mutual relationships. Great attention is also paid to a critical analysis of such constructions delivered from the perspective of gender studies and men's studies; the position of the author of this thesis is also explicitly acknowledged as a departure point for a critical reflection of the discussed images, their relationships and mechanisms of their construction. Further, a collection of social practices by means of which antifeminist men contribute to the construction of "reality" are introduced. The studied case of antifeminist identity is put...

Comparison of ORM frameworks for PHP
Procházka, Ivan ; Pavlíčková, Jarmila (advisor) ; Schrotter, Michal (referee)
This study deals with a comparison of object relational mapping frameworks for PHP program language. On theoretical review, it describes the possibilities of mapping and available design patterns for mapping are presented. Basic principles of object oriented programming and relational databases are surveyed. For a comparison of tools, a model case of a library is suggested and implemented in chosen tools. Based on specified criteria, a comparison of selected frameworks is given. The main goal is to evaluate features of chosen frameworks, demonstrate their usage on the model case of a library and summarize the possibilities of object relational mapping on PHP platform.

Emergency cases and population
Jedonek, Jan ; Tomanová, Alena (advisor) ; Danda, Jiří (referee)
This thesis deals with the topic how the population is informed about emergency occurrences. Nowadays, this issue is very topical because the emergency cases form an important part of people's life. The aim of the thesis is to summarize common observations about the emergency cases and to outline individual proceeding at the creation of the emergency cases. The aim of the experiential part of my work is to map the attitudes and informedness of the population in the Šumperk district referring to this issue and to confirm or disprove given hypothesis.

The Jewish population of the judicial district Sedlec, and their social status until the year 1945 (with a specific heed to the year 1940)
KRUCHŇOVÁ, Lucie
The aim of this propounded thesis has been to elaborate a register of Jewish population in the judicial district Sedlec, and to essay the creation of the reflection of their wealth. The filing cards from the Jews' card files were the primary source, which were enriched by police ordinances and the census from 1930. This thesis is set in the period of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia; therefore, I devoted a chapter to this period, where besides other things I explain the term "Jew" in accordance with the Nuremberg Laws. There is an overview of regulations that restricted the freedom of the Jews, from which the view on curtailing of the hated minority by the Nazis comes. The important part of this piece of work is the description of how the Jewish religious community worked which gives us an insight into the life of this community. Attention was also dedicated to the social structure, including other factors that affect it; hence, this work contains a chapter which provides an overview of the research in this field. Another part is a list of ninety-four people of the Jewish faith or origin formed by communities and families living in them. It is accompanied by a text part which shows the material and financial resources for individual families. The work is enriched by annexes: tables, graphs, maps, and last but not least, some photographs of some slaughtered Jews by the Nazis appearing in the list.

Object-relational mapping on .NET
Popelka, Aleš ; Pavlíčková, Jarmila (advisor) ; Machač, Ivo (referee)
This study concerns the theme of object-relational mapping on the .NET platform. It briefly explains the differences in the relational and object view on data a therefore it describes design patterns which are in object-relational mapping vastly applied. These design patterns are described in order to inform the reader about their advantages as also disadvantages and they are commonly depicted with an elementary illustration. The description of the design patterns is followed with a specification of the .NET framework and other elements (e.g Visual Studio 2008), which are essential to define for further progress in this study. The specification concludes into description of four products, which serve as modelers and generators of the object-relational mapping layer. The goal of this study is to provide a view of the object-relational impedance mismatch issue, means of its solution to the reader and help him with eventual need to invest into products which aid in object-relational mapping on .NET. For potential need to invest in other products than those which are tested in this study is the reader supplied with well-formed rating criteria which are, in my opinion, ready for being standardised. These goals are achieved by generating the mapping layer with all four tested products and description of the mapping process and the layer afterwards.

Concept of the Slovak health care reform
Naščák, Andrej ; Schneider, Ondřej (advisor) ; Bryndová, Lucie (referee)
The thesis deals with the Slovak reform of health care system during the years 2003 and 2006. Specifically, it examines the relationship and proportion of both the private and public sector in all aspects of health care system, such as health care police, financing, provision of health care and patient status. Models of world health care systems are introduced first. The thesis then describes and analyses the situation in Slovakia before the year 2003 and also pays attention to the analysis of the demographical development as an important cause of unsustainability of the former system. The thesis also presents facts and consequences of the reform resulting from data and information obtained during the years 2004 and 2005. As an outcome, the thesis concerns how to secure rational distribution of expenses over the time emphasizing that the prevention is the cheapest way of a treatment, this flows from analyses of demographic impact on health care expenditures per capita - time to death methodology is used. It reminds us that population health is for a society not only an expense but also an investment. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

International Study Exchange Programme as a Form of Student Mobility
Králová, Dana ; Fialová, Dana (referee) ; Vágner, Jiří (advisor)
International Study Exchange Programmes as a Form of Student Mobility Abstract Czech students have been only little surveyed as a mobile population so far, despite the increasing importance of student mobility in the contemporary globalised world. This thesis examines student mobility on the example of Czech students from geographical departments of Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Science, who joined the Erasmus exchange programme as a part of their studies in the past five years (2005-2010). This study aims to analyze the directions and intensity of Erasmus student flows and motivation of students to take part in the student exchange programme. One of the main goals is also to measure the influence of the Erasmus study exchange on the potential international mobility of students. A multi-method approach is used in this case study, including questionnaire surveys among mobile students, interviews with Erasmus coordinators and a statistical analysis of existing data sources (especially the statistics of the geographical departments and the database of Czech National Agency for European Educational Programmes). The results show that the motivation to student mobility is influenced by many factors. The questionnaire data reveal a major importance of language and life experience as motivational...

The population of juniper (\kur{Juniperus communis}) in the selected area of the Pilsen region
TURJANICOVÁ, Alena
The topic of this work is the condition of common juniper (\kur{Juniperus communis}) in Zdebořická draha area. The area is a former pasture with (\kur{Vaccinio-Juniperetum communis}) vegetation covering an area of 1,8 ha. The area is maintained by regular undercutting. A total of 292 subjects which accounts for about a half of the Juniperus communis population were dendrometrically measured and precise data were taken on location of individual specimens in the area. The data are presented in form of a map. Based on type and extent of damage it can be stated that health condition of the observed fraction of Juniperus communis population is mediocre. The most common damage detected was dryness, sparsity and mechanical damage of the specimen.

Klasifikace entit pomocí Wikipedie a WordNetu
Kliegr, Tomáš ; Rauch, Jan (advisor) ; Berka, Petr (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (referee) ; Žabokrtský, Zdeněk (referee)
This dissertation addresses the problem of classification of entities in text represented by noun phrases. The goal of this thesis is to develop a method for automated classification of entities appearing in datasets consisting of short textual fragments. The emphasis is on unsupervised and semi-supervised methods that will allow for fine-grained character of the assigned classes and require no labeled instances for training. The set of target classes is either user-defined or determined automatically. Our initial attempt to address the entity classification problem is called Semantic Concept Mapping (SCM) algorithm. SCM maps the noun phrases representing the entities as well as the target classes to WordNet. Graph-based WordNet similarity measures are used to assign the closest class to the noun phrase. If a noun phrase does not match any WordNet concept, a Targeted Hypernym Discovery (THD) algorithm is executed. The THD algorithm extracts a hypernym from a Wikipedia article defining the noun phrase using lexico-syntactic patterns. This hypernym is then used to map the noun phrase to a WordNet synset, but it can also be perceived as the classification result by itself, resulting in an unsupervised classification system. SCM and THD algorithms were designed for English. While adaptation of these algorithms for other languages is conceivable, we decided to develop the Bag of Articles (BOA) algorithm, which is language agnostic as it is based on the statistical Rocchio classifier. Since this algorithm utilizes Wikipedia as a source of data for classification, it does not require any labeled training instances. WordNet is used in a novel way to compute term weights. It is also used as a positive term list and for lemmatization. A disambiguation algorithm utilizing global context is also proposed. We consider the BOA algorithm to be the main contribution of this dissertation. Experimental evaluation of the proposed algorithms is performed on the WordSim353 dataset, which is used for evaluation in the Word Similarity Computation (WSC) task, and on the Czech Traveler dataset, the latter being specifically designed for the purpose of our research. BOA performance on WordSim353 achieves Spearman correlation of 0.72 with human judgment, which is close to the 0.75 correlation for the ESA algorithm, to the author's knowledge the best performing algorithm for this gold-standard dataset, which does not require training data. The advantage of BOA over ESA is that it has smaller requirements on preprocessing of the Wikipedia data. While SCM underperforms on the WordSim353 dataset, it overtakes BOA on the Czech Traveler dataset, which was designed specifically for our entity classification problem. This discrepancy requires further investigation. In a standalone evaluation of THD on Czech Traveler dataset the algorithm returned a correct hypernym for 62% of entities.
