Adamcová, Kristina ; Pešek, Ondřej (advisor) ; Skokanová, Dagmar (referee)
The main topic of my Bachelor's thesis is to describe the influence that mass media has on the perception of the human body, especially in young women. Initially discussed here are the various kinds of media exposure including TV, newspapers, magazines and now the Internet. The paper also examines the influence of body image on politics and politicians' appearance. As well as the influence of body image on children's programming whose affects in many ways already shape future generations. Based on questionnaires the most attractive celebrities were selected and divided into categories. There are a total of seven categories each both for men and women. Furthermore, connections were derived between these celebrities and demographic data such as age, gender, education and the size of city in which they live. The paper then looks for a pattern between the skin tone of the celebrities chosen and the respondents preferred skin tone. Whether the respondent thought that young people are more attractive than old people and whether they thought that current society pressures people to be physically attractive is analyzed. The final question, whether people would support the promotion of "real beauty", along with all other questions were compared to the selection of celebrities.

This Bachelor?s Thesis focuses on non-profit organization where the prevention of eating disorders is concerned. The Theoretical Part provides a description of eating disorders, focusing on mental anorexia, mental bulimia and the prevention implemented by non-profit organizations. The Practical Part concentrates on defining the aim of this Bachelor?s Thesis, the methods applied and the characteristics of the target group. Questioning was applied as the research method. Controlled interviews represented the data collection technique. The target group to be researched were non-profit organizations from all over the Czech Republic that deal with the prevention of eating disorders. Two non-profit organizations agreed to participate in the research project. The research project ran from March to June 2011. Research results showed that there are not enough non-profit organizations in the Czech Republic that specialize in the topic under review. Furthermore, research established that Anabell, an unincorporated organization with several branches, holds a leading position in the Czech Republic. Research results also proved that non-profit organizations do not run enough prevention programs and that the public education programs that they run in the Czech Republic are insufficient. This Bachelor?s Thesis may inspire the creation of a wider range of prevention programs and also the spreading of the network of non-profit organizations in the Czech Republic. It may also serve as a source of information for parents and schools where eating disorders are concerned.
Nursing Specifics in Paediatric Patients with Gastrostomy
POHLOVÁ, Světlana
Gastrostomy is one of the access routes enabling enteral nutrition support to children with eating disorders. It is a method of choice in situations where real assumption of enteral feeding by a nasogastric probe longer than six weeks exists and with undamaged functional digestive system. The possibility to perform enteral feeding outside health care facilities is the most advantageous aspect of gastrostomy for children and their parents. Optimum nursing care is one of the main preconditions of long term functional gastrostomy. This why suitable education of parents and their children in the nutrition support method is necessary. The aim of the work was to map awareness of the issues of gastrostomy in children patients among parents and to propose a unified educational programme aimed at easier insight into the issues. Qualitative research method was applied to the problems. The techniques of study of healthcare documentation and semi standardized interviews with respondents in their home environment were used for data collection. The results of the healthcare documentation studies, which defined the sample of the children with applied gastrostomy, were processed into graphic form for better transparency. The interviews with the respondents in the form of audio recording were transposed into written form and quantified by means of tables enabling the research conclusion to be drawn. The research results showed that practical training of gastrostomy treatment and awareness of possible complications and their solution was the weak point of the education. The above results have confirmed the necessity to elaborate a unique educational programme related to the issues of feeding tube insertion, the care for gastrostomy, support of food, medicines, and possible related complications in terms of learning the ability to prevent complications, identify and solve them.
