The Concept of Virtualization Extension for BVV Trade Fairs Brno

In my bachelor´s thesis I deal with an issue of extension of virtual platform in a great company. In the first part of my thesis I work with familiarization with the company and analysis of the actual IT structure. The second part is theoretically focused on area of virtualization, reasons for usage and types of virtualization. Furthermore, I describe the most used platforms from Microsoft and VMware companies, in addition I compare them. The last part of my thesis is about a proposal of the most suitable solution and a total evaluation of benefits for the company.

The theoretical part of this thesis is devoted to familiarization with the technology of cloud computing, virtualization technology, data storage problems and Petri nets. Followed by the practical part, the first part discusses the various technologies which are VMware ESX, Citrix Xen, Hyper -V, KVM and oVirt. The following part is a summary of the characteristics of each technology and an output of this summary is a decision tree which is intended to help to select the appropriate virtualization technology. The second part is dedicated to the implementation of an application used for storing data in the database depending on the sensitivity of data. The thesis includes the final economic evaluation and discussion as well.
Design of Virtualization and Consolidation of Servers

This Bachelor Thesis focuses on the application of virtualization in environment branch of the international company. It analyzes the IT infrastructure in the organization and trying to find the best possible solution for upgrading existing infrastructure. Thesis also analyses an overview of available virtualization technologies and compares them. The main part of Thesis is aimed at implementation of the most appropriate solution and evaluating the benefits of solution for the company. Finally, it outlines possible development in the future.

The Bachelor's Work analyses a part of IT infrastructure in the company and suggests new system solutions for the particular selected area by which it is possible to guarantee both technical and economical improvement. This work describes the proposal for the optimalization and consolidation of the servers with the utilization of the virtual environment. The part is also the description of individual technologies of virtual environment and their advantages. It focuses detailed on the area of consolidation of the servers which is decisive for IT infrastructire in the organization. At the end is suggested one particular solution with the evaluation of the advantages for the company.

The purpose of master's thesis is preparing the proposal for optimization of servers using virtualization and consolidation. The master's thesis is divided into three parts. The first one is engaged theoretical ground of computer network, second part analyses the current state of IT infrastructure within the specific business. The last part contains the proposal to modernization and optimization of existing server solution including summary of expected costs for realization od proposal.

The thesis aims on a proposal of server infrastructure utilization within a particular organization based on a virtual environment. Analysis of current company’s IT infrastructure was chosen as a starting point for subsequent draft of suitable server consolidation solution that includes all necessary aspects from server configuration up to virtual environment conversion itself. Price calculation and benefits of proposed solution are listed at the end of the thesis.

Thesis also includes insight in completely different approach to the software distribution -- Cloud Gaming. In practical part are thoroughly tested existing solutions and done functionality analysis. Practical part also includes experiment which regards to building own platform using currently existing tools and it is followed by discussion of results.

This work aims at comparison of the two freely availabe virtualization solutions developed by commercial companies. It analyses the possibilities provided ty these products, their management tools and procedures and the consequences resulting from their differences. These goals are achieved through studying the available resource about the products and virtualization in general, followed by doing a practical test of running the products. The work provides the reader with guide to choosing the right virtualization tool and shows the ways how to work with it. It starts with explaining the basic terms in the area of virtualization and continues by introducing the products and their features and how to manage and use them, finishing with the conlusive evaluation.
