The value of neurohormonal activation assessment for treatment monitoring in congestive heart failure
Kubánek, Miloš ; Málek, Ivan (advisor) ; Špinarová, Lenka (referee) ; Pudil, Radek (referee)
Summary: Congestive heart failure (CHF) is associated with neurohormonal activation (NHA) which contributes to further progression of disease. Measurement of NHA has been used for diagnosis and prognostic stratification in CHF. Aims: The aim of this academic disertation was to analyze the value of NHA for treatment monitoring in CHF. We studied the relationship between NHA and pulmonary hypertension in compensated CHF using B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) and big endothelin-1 (big ET-1). The rationale was to minimize repeated right heart catheterizations in candidates for orthotopic heart transplantation. A similar design had the second clinical study which used N-terminal pro-B- type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) as a marker of NHA. In the third clinical study, we evaluated whether basal levels and/or change in NHA during treatment predict clinical efficacy of cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT). We supposed that BNP and big ET-1 might be better predictors of outcome than standard methods of follow-up. Results: 1. Natriuretic peptides correlated with hemodynamic parameters better than big ET-1. An isolated measurement of BNP or NT-proBNP did not allow a reliable assessment of pulmonary hypertension or left ventricular filling pressure, respectively. On the other hand, serial evaluation of...

The role of supervision in the helping professions
Borovičková, Zuzana ; Poláčková, Věra (referee) ; Lorenzová, Jitka (advisor)
Helping professions such as psychology, education, social-work, health care etc. differ from other professions in many ways. In all helping professions relationship between the helping person and the client is crucial. It depends on the worker's personality, motivation for performing a helping profession, and obviously also on the degree of difficulty of these professions, which may cause stress and furthermore result in burn-out syndrome. Last but not least, organizational culture of helping organization also affects quality of helping worker's achievement. Supervision reacts to all these problems and helps workers cope with stressful situations, and thus prevent them from burn-out syndrome. It contributes to workers' consciousness of the quality of their relationships with the clients, helps them disclose hidden motives for performing a helping profession, and tries to solve problems in working teams of helping organizations. The role of supervision in helping professions is kind and safe contribution to workers' effective helping the clients. Supervision of helping professions has three functions: supportive, educational, and controlling, and several forms which help institutions and workers choose the most appropriate form for their purposes. Supervision is rarely used in Czech school system, although...

Possibilities for bioindication of the surface water status using freshwater bivalves’ shells with focus on the morphological variability of Unio crassus
Zuzáková, Hana ; Douda, Karel (advisor) ; Matasová, Klára (referee)
Possibilities for bioindication of the surface water status using freshwater bivalves shells with focus on the morphological variability of Unio crassus Summary This bachelor thesis present a review of scientific literature dealing with the possibilities for bioindication by freshwater mussels of the family Unionidea. In it practical part, it is about the variability of freshwater mussel Unio crassus, whose shells were collected from 10 streams in Poland, Bulgaria and Romania. Specifically, shells from 357 U. crassus individuals were measured by classical morphometric method. This analysis confirmed findings from literature where are mentioned most common size of shells (40- 70 mm of length). Using residual values of the relationship between shell length and width and between shell length and the thickness the shell shapes were compared between individuals and the watersheds with the use of basic statistical methods, scatterplots and boxplots. The result is a significant value for different flows, their differences are only in the few millimeter variance. For a substantial variation in shapes were made GIS analysis for each river. To describe the catchment area were delineated buffers in the size of square root lengths of streams, in which was to determine land-use and their percentage and surface representation. Land-use categories were characterized by Corine Land Cover classes. Identified categories in studied areas include total afforestation total artificially built-up areas, agricultural and water areas. The resulting statistics of land use were compared and evaluated in relation to the shape characteristics of U. crassus and enabled the determination of species plasticity and variability which is capable, despite their demands and the need for high quality waters, live in diverse environmental conditions. Despite the limited set of population tested, study documents that typical environmental conditions for U. crassus are unpolluted areas with a high percentage of afforestation, the average representation of agricultural land, and the lowest representation of any built-up areas and industrial application in the nearby stream.

Láska, Martin ; Perič, Tomáš (referee) ; Vágner, Michal (advisor)
4 Abstract: The work is aimed at determining the relationships between selected kinetic tests and the level of basic skating skills. Kinetic tests will be selected on the basis of previous studies related to our research purpose and the requirements of standardization. The studied sample will be composed of children aged between 7 - 8 years (2nd and 3rd grade) from the hockey team HC Sparta Prague. Variable criteria are gaming activities of individuals (basic skating skills) that will be measured by using the tests of kinetic. Title: Relations between the motoric tests of coordination abilities and skills in skating, ice hockey players at the age of 7 to 8 years. Goals: The aim of the thesis is to determine the simultaneous validity of selected kinetic tests of coordination skills for individuals sport activities - the basic skating skills. Method: The thesis is conceived as an empirical observation type of quantitative research. Results: The Iowa - Brace test achieved the best explained variability of 26% for the variable criteria at skating forward. For other variable criteria, except for the forward cross - over, explained approximately 16% of variance. The test of the dynamic balance ability best explains the variation of the variable criteria of forward skating 17%. 5 While using multiple linear...

The aim of bachelor thesis was compile a summary of meaningful traction and construction chassis parameters containing fundamental principles of contemporary off-road trial race cars. The introduction part showed a short presentation of off-road car trial races. The aim of the work, it was necessary establishing basic parameters of off-road trial race cars as a basis for the design of best race trial cars. Firstly, the parameters were used as stoned to a best off-road trial car design. These parameters have been arranged into two chapters Static, design parameters and Dynamic, traction properties. Then subparameters of off-road trial car have been determined as a specific example in the thesis. The analysis of these outputs confirmed close relationship and dependence fully. Finally, methods have been specified using a fundamental terramechanics approaches implemented in calculation of required driving torque under specific terrain conditions.

Foreign Trade of China
Hoang, Thi Ngoc Thanh ; Maier, Tomáš (advisor) ; Kuzmenko, Elena (referee)
1 Introduction This research divided into two parts: Literature Review and Practical Part. The Literature Review is written based on literature on International Trade. This part introduces the main theories and a brief history of Foreign Trade and a brief history of International Trade in the world context. To begin with, the author explained the Absolute Advantage theory from Adam Smith; the father of the Classical Trade Theory, Comparative Advantage by Ricardo and Heckscher Ohlin theory. This research also used qualitative and quantitative method approach the practical part with the purpose to find out how important the Foreign Trade effect is to Chinas economy. 2 Keywords China, Asia, foreign trade, economy growth, international trade 3 Objectives of this thesis The basic objectives of this thesis is to analyze the foreign trade of China based on the impacts of imports and exports and other indicators. It can be studied via domestic products and free trade agreement made between China and its trading partners. These factors are believed to have explanatory power for China's foreign trade. 4 Methodology For this thesis methodology, there will be data collected and after that analysed from the source information mainly from the Internet via search engine such as scholarly articles, journals, books from Vietnamese authors and others, trade documents, reports, and several other online academic sources. This research was also based on quantitative method approach by collecting data from Bureau Statistics of China from 1978 to 2013, there are 27 observations, the unit is 100 million yuan. The main reason to analyse the China growth rate based on the relationship between GDP and Exports-Imports. The GDP and Linear Regression models were created as follow: Y = a + b*x (1) Where: Y: Dependent variable as GDP X: Independent variable as growth rate (X-M) a: constant b: parameter of received growth rate The model was verified by compared the p-values with significant level alpha = 0.05 to identify the relationship between GDP and China growth rate (X-M). 5 Main Findings My aim of this thesis is to have the overview about Foreign Trade of China. The reform process can be divided into the following main stages: 1979-1987 Period (period of exploration and trial) 1988-1990 Period (period of transition toward reform in depth) 1991-2001 Period Over the past 38 years of reform, the Chinese nation experienced many ups and downs, changes; China's economy not only faced difficulties and challenges but also achieved a lot of achievements. That miraculous development of China was due to great efforts of the Chinese people in the cause of building the country with the target of bringing China to gradually integrate with the world economy and gradually become a strong economic power. In the coming years, China will still continue to grow, the economy will be increasingly integrated, becoming an important part of the world economy. In the practical part, I used the Linear Regression with the help of SAS 7.1 to compute the relationship between GDP and exports-imports, after computing, I got the result as follow: if the GDP increase by 100,000,000 yuan, so that the (X-M) will increase by 2,030,000,000 yuan. For the statistical verification, we compare the p-value with significant level of 5% (alpha = 0.05). In this case, the p-value of (X-M) was 0.0001 lower than 0.05. From the result, the author rejected the hypothesis, and the GDP growth depends on (X-M). In another way the author can say it was statistically significant. 6 Conclusion After 38 years of reform and opening up, it can be said that China has achieved great successes in economic development, especially foreign trade development. From a country with stagnant and undeveloped foreign trade, China now is a current foreign trade country with powers ranked the 5th largest in the world and, more importantly, in the future, Chinese position in international trade will be enhanced increasingly. In past years, thanks to China had proper policies and methods were suitable for the foreign trade development so that it achieved such successes such as high achievements as follows: It can be said that on the way to opening up and reform of foreign trade, China was not necessarily to always get success and achieve many accomplishments. Sometimes, China also faced the mistakes as results of until now it was also not necessarily to achieve as expected. It still existed with a number of problems to continue to be overcome, such as improving the quality of exported goods and foreign trade performance, issues of regional disparities etc. Through the study of the development experience of Chinese foreign trade, can be realize the State's role in policy-making and overall macroeconomic method-making were very important for Foreign Trade. Moreover, the Chinese government was very flexible in creating and implementing policies although China is a developing country. In fact, China makes foreign trade reform with cautious and solid steps. 7 Reference Brown Consultancy Service, Theory of International Trade, Brown Consultant The Silkroad project, The Silkroad and related trade routes Robert C. Fuková, Martina ; Světlíková, Daniela (advisor) ; Klára, Klára (referee)
Submitted thesis Legal Forms of Employment and their Implications for Employees deals with the problems of employment legal relations and subsequent forms of employment in connection with labour law of the Czech Republic. The first (theoretic) part of the work describes basic employment legal relations (working ratio and the agreement outside the employment relationship) in the relation to the labour code. In this part of the work are described the most famous non traditional flexible forms of employment of the Czech Republic, defined in their legislation, including a comparison of the advantages and disadvantages of these forms of employment both for the employees and for the employer. The practical part of the thesis comes from the testimony of ten of the respondents, who are acquainted with their opinions and experiences with different forms of employment. On their basis are developed case studies with commentary that evaluates the experience of the respondent and compares it with the relevant labour legislation. In this part is also statistical evaluation which deals with the comparison of the used forms of the employment relations between the European Union and the Czech Republic. The evaluation of the results and conclusion of the thesis summarizes the whole issue and presents the proposal to solute the negative consequences weighted employees using non standard flexible forms of employment.
